I work better in forums stan twt relies alot on drama and reference based jokes from what I have seen and it's a bit much for me. Some of my feeling left out though might be from realizing so many stans follow newer groups I don't know much about. I listen to tons of music from 4th gen groups but don't really stan many from 4th gen. Glad forums are still here I have just noticed how so many people have gone to twitter.

Yeah it seems that way. I have had my account since 2016 but I am not super active so that might be an issue.

Yeah the issue I think is that I can't figure out how to join in??? like people don't interact like they do on forums but I never know what to say or what hashtags to use. Do you notice tons of fanwars?? I keep seeing them when on twitter so maybe that makes be feel not negative towards the platform.

Possibly I think heart shaker is up there. Once tends to make a lot of memes about heat shaker but it ends up forgettable to many. And signal would be here but most of the reason it is known is because it got a lot of hate when it was released.

I really liked cute concepts and I am sorta over girl crush but there are some great girl crush stuff but I find myself listening to more and more older kpop (2nd gen) just cus I miss the style. I actually like teen crush a lot and I am glad that is becoming a thing. I mean there are cute songs I don't like (mostly when they push the innocent cute concept) but overall I really like them.

I am the same age or younger as many kpop fans but I can't get into twitter or instagram and it feels like thats where most people are. I feel old lol. Do others feel disconnected. (cue my bitter mumbling about how I miss 2015-2017). I am not great at the fast paced reference based fandom stuff but I wanna talk to people about kpop!!! Anyway I have not been active since school has been hard to figure out right now with not being able to leave my house and whatnot but I am i'm back!

It's because she is so sweet. She is nice and cute and she dances well. Alot of people just see her doing tik tok dances and while those dances become popular due to how easy that are to learn she danced competitively for years and has dance skills as a high level and makes tik toks of that as well. She is a real teenager who is talented but still seems super down to earth. I don't follow her but I do spend a good amount of time on tik tok and so I do end up seeing her videos sometimes she does seem super nice and that she is having fun making tik toks. People like when people are much better than them at things while still seeming relatable.

I have not gotten new kpop albums since 2017...it's been awhile. But now that I to change. I have never been a big collector myself but I wanted some new albums and my life has sucked (for non quarantine reasons believe it or not) recently and so I ended up getting three albums. I got both hejin's and olivia hye's solo mini albums and rocket punch pink punch as I tend to start stanning any teen crush or magical concept groups as soon as I can and rocket punch was no exception ( glad that teen crush is on the rise bright songs are good for low moods and I have had lots of those as of late.) Anyway I am super excited!!!

Yeah I am seeing people running out of ways to insult idols and I am glad for all the positivity. I hope one day we get to a point where idols can dress how they want and date if they want and not have to worry about people on the internet asking for them to be kicked out of the group. (a girl can dream haha)

I think for this newest gen (people are saying it's 4th now?) we can't fully understand popularity because some groups do better in other markets. Saying that a groups is not really popular because most of their success comes from south america or north america would be false they are popular just maybe not in korea. There are so many groups that my friends who don't know what kpopm really is know but people in korea don't. Media play is part of it of course but what I saw 2nd gen vs now can't be compared. Kpop has a more global reach now but not every group can reach everywhere we have entered into a new time. Honestly the only thing that to me fits is groups that have one hit or two but nothing else. Like momoland would be the biggest I would say. Everyone knows the dance to boom boom but they don't know freeze is a song that exsists so in that way they are not as popular as they seemed but they were in theire own way just as popular. Popularity is kinda odd anyway (sorry for any typos)

Twicetagram......it's been awhile

So many people make it a hobby to be really mean to people just because they are far away from the commenters in a sense since they are celebrities. Maybe instead of putting effort in getting mad at the trolls fans could set up events online to praise idols and let them know. If people disbelieve in a rumour or don't think it's a big deal they tend not to say much but the antis talk so much. I am loosing hope that people will just stop being so hateful. Most of these idols are teenagers or very young adults theire self esttems and image have not fully developed yet so it's extra harmful. Hope all the idols are able to recover from the hate they get even though I understand not many people can just brush this stuff off. (sorry for all the typos my spellcheck is not fully cooperating with me right now

I am so excited. My time is pretty messed up with quarantine so I thought it was june 1st both yesterday and today...third times the charm! I can't wait!! Everything looks so pretty and sounds amazing!

Yes they benefit a lot and they maybe should speak about it but even if they did I am not sure they would say "the right things" they don't have to deal with this in Korea. They can learn about what is going on and express concern and sympathy but I am not sure there will be the same understanding. Feeling this build for years in your own city feels much different than than the other side of the world. When they talk about peace and equality we can all relate and this is specific and I promise even if they say something it won't make everyone feel better and it might make some more upset. When protests happen in other places I feel odd speaking out very much I will show support (like bts maybe should) but I can't talk at length I only have what I can see and the bias that comes with that even more since I can only read english So it's kinda layered but yeah they benefit from the black community and they had a history of...."borrowing" from it and they should probably learn more and speak out if they wanna keep benefiting but they will never have the same story as people in the usa have or the same info or the same history. Complicated.

Sana getting huge amounts of hate for her instagram post about the japanese emperor changing and a new era starting tzuyu's taiwan flag thing was pretty bad too (I feel pretty bad for both of them)
