  1. For weeks, the only pictures of Seventeen that I came across were Photoshoped

to the point of anguish... and I'd be like

    'WAE?!'

'What is wrong with you kids?!'

    'No, they're not White.'

'No Bitch, they don't need to be White!'

I'm glad to have finally stumbled across previews of the boys
because I swear, they look far better and handsome in them.

    [Trans] 150626 Kukinews Interview:
    Q. What do you feel when you hear ‘self-producing idol’?

Woozi : I feel honoured and also feel responsible. Even word like ‘participating’ isn’t enough to describe our contribution on the album; since we produce most of it (the album). From choreography to concept, outfits, we even involved in the production meeting. Maybe that’s why when we first get the album we were so touched that we couldn’t explain it with words.

    Q. The burden you feel must be huge.

Woozi : It’s a lie if we say we didn’t feel burdened. The members aren’t the type who would personally tell me if they don’t like or hate the song that I wrote. The members put their faith in me and I feel responsible when I’m working (on the song), i feel that kind of burden as I’m working.

.... Woozi dear, things would not be that way if you weren't such an intimidating midget

  3. he moved to south korea when he was 5 though? But that might be because he speaks mostly English at home because of his mom...

well, I hope he does show his skills off and does well. :(

he doesn't have that much material, so, I'm not judging him...though I do prefer Seungcheol's rapping to his...

I just double-checked and you're right. I thought it was 11  What a difference

Thanks for correcting me. I didn't think of his relationship with his Mother (which I should have) because I was thinking of his live performances. He has tendencies to come across excessive in a confident way so I just linked that with the American rapping culture.

    Thanks again for correcting me.

  4. yasss at him getting praised :ahmagah: I was sad because people on twitter mentioned that the lack of his k-fansites is because korean tend to be really racist I thought he would get hate or smth

Nah, his melanin is too low for racism.

South Koreans tend to worship all things American so Vernon will be no exception. Do expect a cult following very soon... and by 'very soon', I mean the time after discovering that the Foreigner is American.

i hope vernon raps really well and surprises everyone bc he's getting flamed on twitter :( #VernonDefenseSquad

Didn't know of this, but [if true] cannot say I'm surprised.

He’s getting too much praise recently and that is why they’re getting on at him. It’s an unfortunate part of the package – the more popular one gets, the more hatred comes one’s way.

Vernon has a distinct delivery style; he raps Korean words as if they were English – the syllabus are very clear. It’s obvious he grew up in an English-speaking country. His executions are neat. His flow is decent. He hasn’t done anything to show versatility. Rapping heavily focuses on lyrics and quite frankly, everything thus far has been bland and his playful raps were… just playfully bland. I also think that some would interpret his stage performances as try hard and unrealistic… but then I’m questioning how people can come pounding at his rapping since he really hasn’t had enough opportunity to showcase his skills.

Either way, people are talking about him so his impact is undeniable

  5. That's such a beautiful, insightful analysis  :rlytearpls: thank you! I really fully agree, but also feel like I learned more about him. I noticed he keeps in the background too and he does seem like a really gentle, quiet person. I think all this made me love him even more.

You are welcome  I'm sure you'll be able to pick up on things that I haven't noticed, and most certainly after the transition phase of trainee to 'idol' is over. More colours will emerge. The biggest misconception with 'idols' who let others in front of them is that they're shy or lack confidence. I don't see that with him at all; he's just the least egotistic of them all and thus the most comfortable in his own skin. He won't put on layers to play the 'idol' role but may withdraw a little just to be in touch with who he really is, which to me is the most beautiful quality about him.

'It's not a question right or wrong.
    It's a question of principles'

I love how much he released and exposed himself here
Definitely one of favourite YiXing moments. Thanks Naimisha

In a more serious note, I think maybe he was too much into the game. He felt very disappointed in SHL that was a figure he probably trusted and admired. We all carry these mental representations of people, we think they are a certain way and when they disappoint you it's just something you can't hide your frustration from it.

I'll add that Yixing is under a lot of stress and probably very tired which makes him a lot more sensitive about this stuff.

It is what it is. He wasn't right or wrong.

I can't judge him even if I wanted him to act less affected.

F*ck seniority doe, being a jerk is never ok.

I agree. It's obvious that he's releasing a lot more than just the game. He may no even be aware of it himself because he's warped up with the many things that are already going on. Trust is a huge matter for YiXing, and even though we may not know the depth of it we can understand why it is that way.

His confrontation on SHL sits up there as one of my favourite YiXing moments. He reveals a beautiful side of him so openly - INTEGRITY: 'It's not a question right or wrong. It's a question of principles'... how can one not admire that? He doesn't just say the words, he acts it. In that moment he back the Senior. Honestly, I find it insane that he can maintain such a cool exterior. I become a fireball - which is worse than being a Naomi btw

Thanks Naimisha for keeping me updated on news of YiXing. My internet is playing up and I just lost what I was typing to you, but I will get back to you later. I just had to share my thoughts.

  8. Loving the videos that we've been given recently. I'm actually enjoying them way more than the MVs

Which other members are you drawn to? :meow: I love your posts and the Woozi one seemed so spot on. I still feel quite new to Seventeen but I have my soft spots for some members. I think Joshua in particular, he seems like a very sweet person (like in that backstage video when he tells his mom in English that he's doing fine and not to worry about him, I melted). But I still feel like I have a lot to learn about him. I really like his personality from all the things I've seen though, he's pretty quiet in the seventeen project eps

Joshua, the gentleman, is a gentle soul; intuitive, empathetic, considerate, and passive. He’s not star material, but more of a dreamy guy-next-door type; there’s barely anything loud or aggressive about him. He has a quiet determination. Cannot say anything about focus and concentration. He comes across as a rookie who feels blessed doing something he enjoys and studies a lot to better himself as a person, not as an ‘idol’. Being in a group actually prompts him to do so more; he has a great sense of responsibility, loyalty and integrity. He’s grounded, humble and grateful. He’s well balanced but I question if that can be maintained with time. The entertainment industry can be a crazy zoo at times. I have yet to see him react in stressful situations. When serious he goes quiet and inwards. He self-reflects deeply and would rather be undisturbed when doing so. When he releases, he does so too calmly so I wonder if he does let it all out or just processes most of it by himself because he doesn’t want to disturb others. In conversations, he strongly dislikes anything heated arguments. I wonder what he’s like then because so far, I’ve seen more classical introvert ‘symptoms’ than extrovert in him.

    Your observations and opinions?

He really shouldn't be pulling faces like that since he's not legal...
