  2. I felt that at the beginning MNH used to promote Chungha better than Black Label promoted Somi, but something happened during the COVID global pandemic that made them fumble.
Anyway hope Chungha gets a better agency - she's too hardworking and talented to not be in the spotlight. And hope MNH wises up and treat their remaining artists and trainees better.  🙏

  3. Seventeen gets their first RIAJ GOLD streaming certification and their 2nd RIAJ streaming certification for achieving 50M streams in Japan with AJU NICE.
    Note:
Their first ever RIAJ streaming certification was a SILVER for achieving 30M streams in Japan with DON'T WANNA CRY.
The Silver streaming certification was discountinued by RIAJ last February. This is the reason why VERY NICE never got certified silver and went straight to Gold. Because its streams before Feb was not enough for silver (i.e., less than 30M), it may be interpreted as Very Nice gaining over 20M STREAMS in the last 11 months alone.

Seventeen is included among the artists in the  SILVER Club on “MelOn Hall” for accumulating over 2 BILLION total streams (3,600,550,000) on the platform.
    “MelOn Hall” Clubs
    • Diamond (10B)
    • Gold (5B)
    • Silver (2B)
    • Bronze (1B)
For reference, #SEVENTEEN accumulated 662M streams in 2022.

  4. BLACKPINK created a historic moment for K-pop fans when they collaborated with the award-winning Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich for a spectacular performance on January 25, 2023. The event was held at the Le Gala des Piéces Jaunes in Paris.

The concert was a charity concert organized by France’s first lady Brigitte Macron and aired through the France 2 channel. The performance was recorded on Wednesday, January 25, and was released to viewers on Saturday, January 28, through the France 2 channel.

Upon seeing the performance of BLACKPINK with Daniel Lozakovich, one fan tweeted:

    • “THIS IS INSAAAAAANE. One of their best live performances, the sound mixing is soooooo good. You can hear their voices loud and clear, the chants, the orchestra, the solo violin of La Campanella by Daniel Lozakovich. Jenlisa rap”

BLACKPINK’S Shut down and Daniel Lozakovich’s La Campanella synchronized perfectly for the fans
The girl group performed their smash hit single Pink Venom alongside their latest title track Shut Down, in which they perfectly synchronized their performance with the award-winning Swedish singer Daniel Lozakovich.

The classical musician performed La Campanella for the K-pop girl group, a performance that was accompanied by a live orchestra, making it more energetic. As it happened, fans cheered the group and the Swedish singer with loud screams and claps.

The performance undoubtedly created a new moment for BLINKS as the girl band became the first-ever K-pop group to be invited to a charity concert by the first lady of France. Apart from them, many other renowned artists and musicians graced the charity event. BLACKPINK also teamed-up with the world-renowned cellist Gautier Capucon for their performance of Pink Venom at the charity concert.

Following BLACKPINK and Daniel Lozakovich’s performance, Jaunes, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, and others also gave spectacular performances that entertained the fans throughout the event.

After the concert, the Pink Venom group was spotted clicking pictures with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and French first lady, Brigitte Macron, to celebrate the charity concert. Decked up in their best attire, BLACKPINK looked respectful of the couple.

Swedish singer Daniel Lozakovich also took to his Instagram to thank the Shut Down singers and the people who made the event possible. He captioned:

    • “This event wouldn’t happen without huge help of dear Helen and Frederik Arnault. I’m delighted to participate in, at the Zenith Arena in Paris tomorrow with Blackpink, my dear friend Alexandre Kantorow, Lionel Bringuier, and Orchestre Lamoureux.”

As such, fans couldn’t stop praising BLACKPINK for their fantastic performance at the charity concert and expressed their thoughts on social media. One fan tweeted:

    • “Daniel Lozakovich, a famous Swedish violinist playing la campanella and then Blackpink performing shut down, was incredible! the orchestra, Daniel and bp was so good. It’s amazing how blackpink karma works”

BLACKPINK is currently on their Born Pink World Tour and will simultaneously headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Hyde Park British Summer Time (BST) Festival.

  5. Glad they're finally free from trash MLD Ent, but it's also sad that it ended like this.
Nevertheless with Boom Boom and BBam they left a mark on Kpop history that even Big 4 ggs wished they could achieve.
Looking forward to good news from them (either together w/ most of the members or as soloists) in the future. 🙏

  6. Left  Right sounded too much like a filler Aaliyah track for my tastes.
Since Simon also made Tippy Toes and Mascara (which I loved) , guess Chancellor is the one who I have to blame for this.
Good thing the girls' vocals/rap/dance/charisma in their live stages more than made up for it.
Also kudos to the cameraman for a moving cam that' shows the girls' point moves without giving me vertigo. 🥰

Speaking about Chancellor and Momoland, I don't hear the Momoland influence in this song.
The Chancellor song that Left Right reminds me more of is Automatic (Girls Ver) - esp with the car references.

  7. There's explaining a mean joke neutrally and explaining while laughing along.
Guess which kind of explaining Ryujin did?

Here's the video clip of it if it helps. I think they are mad because she brought up the fact that Joy and Crush are dating on a stream?

There's explaining a mean joke with a neutral/disapproving expression and there's explaining while laughing along.
Anybody who keeps saying "don't shoot the messenger" should watch this video clip,
because it settles the question over what kind of explanation Ryujin did.

  8. Other lesser-known groups than Loona were able to hold perfs and concerts there w/o issues aside from the usual quarantine restirctions.
So this might be an impact of that lawsuit between Blockberry Creative's parent co (Polaris) and their Japanese (also 2nd largest) shareholder (Donuts)
Still sucks that loona's JP concert tour got caught in the crossfire tho.

  9. Spoilered for Trigger warning: references to suicide, sexual assault, and bullying.
*edit: If he was innocent, may he find justice. If he was guilty, may his victims find closure.
Innocent or guilty, he still lived a troubled life, so condolences to his loved ones and may he RIP.

    Spoiler

This was the trainee who was accused of sexual assault and claimed it was fabricated by his ex-company for noise marketing.
In response, his ex-company sued him for defamation.
He also accused Yoon Jisung of bullying him during Produce 101 S2, then threatened to commit suicide when netizens claimed there were inconsistencies in his statement.

  10. Jisoo's voice may be considered the most resonant in BP.
But a cow's moo is resonant. There is more to singing than just being resonant.
Not to mention that her footwork when dancing in heels is like a newborn cow too.
I thought I saw some progress in her singing and dancing in the Shut Down Perf Video,
but when I watched the live perf on Jimmy Kimmel I didn't see that progress.
(Although tbf only Rose managed to slay there. Even Lisa's dancing - while passable - was lackluster there compared what she showed in the Perf Vid)
I understand that Jisoo's trying her best, but she's a big reason why I don't see Blackpink as a talented group.

What do you mean? YGE has nothing to do this thing anymore. His sentencing just happened several hours ago. It’s big news.

He may not be a YG artist anymore but the crimes he were charged for were committed during the time he was in Bigbang/YG. He even used his YG card to rent out hotel rooms where he and his associates solicited prostitutes for their guests.
