I was initially so mad about Hongseok not getting into Ikon, but now I am so thankful because it brought him (and me!) to Pentagon. Also, Yunhyeong is such an adorable sweetheart!

I don't get the praise for the sort of talented-in-Kpop singers like Hyorin or Jonghyun and many others. They strain horribly even in recorded album songs and they lack markers required for one to cross year3 in my area of classical music degree. Yes it is just pop and Sistar and Shinee songs aren't opera but I cannot call them good singers. I really like Jonghyun and his composing, but...I can call them competent enough for their jobs as idols and just that. There are only about 5 songs from Bigbang and members' entire repertoire that I like - the last being Loser and ENL. Their hiphop stuff especially is so not good at all to me. I cannot imagine anyone who has ever known NWA/Nas/Tupac etc. to take their stuff seriously.

I am sad at the present condition of ONTD. Like this used to be the place for shady rumours, savage putdowns and roaring fun entertainment gossip. I used to go there on the weekends to catch up and relax a bit, but now... But now it has been overtaken by countless political posts concerning the American Elections, continuous Lib/Left posturing, random weirdos and has-beens from niche fandoms who are maybe woke/not-woke based on one tweet or insta post, and plain bitter and uneducated idiots whining all the time. Like, so many times they defend a POC even if the person is a piece of misogynist/sexist/racist trash, try to shut down actual Muslims living in the Middle-East talking on anything like Palestine/Saudi Arabia/American foreign politics etc., hate on some dude/girl who is from a different country/region/culture entirely for not being up-to-date with American Identity politics' talking points. It is such a ugly place nowadays - full of hypocrites who are busy doing oppression!olympics everywhere, on every topic. Bashing at my uni teachers who think every student who has come in has studied in high-fangled schools and knows all about how to write papers, make citations and make projections. So sorry that we came from the country and studied in normal, poor people's schools and we need you to teach us how all of this is done! No, I have no skin prejudices. I am milk-tea toned myself. It is that people here, on NB, on Allkpop have commented how Tzuyu will never make it as IT-girl because she's tan or Mingyu is too dark to beat Eunwoo or why Seolhyun's popularity is just for her body...all because supposedly Korean tastes only like fair skin, babyish innocent auras and sharp features! Even translated knetizen comments diss SEA type of looks regularly. By those standards - how is Jennie or Jisoo pretty? But I see the same commenters from before pushing Jennie as gorgeous, Jisoo as top visual! Are they lying now or were they lying before? (I think these people are either fake-Koreans or they were being xenophobic/colorist or just wanted to diss members of groups they considered threats to their bias.)

Uh, I don't see how Jennie or Jisoo is pretty by so called Korean standards that fans have been talking about. Well no wonder the foreign-line is so close, since YanAn lived in Japan while in the womb! All our boys look so tired nowadays - they must be very busy. Yeah, I'm hopeful too.
