Which male idols do you think are gay?
baekjoong replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Thank you! I don't know, but I'm getting creeped out by both Jikook and Vkook fans making Jungkook out to be this jealous, controlling monster who goes into a rage at the slightest sign of socialization from his lovers. That's not how relationships work. These people are in a field that requires interactions and socializing, and... whoa, no words at all. If he was the person these people make him out to be, then the relationship is extremely toxic and abusive. I really wish women, especially young women, understand this, so they don't romanticize control and possessiveness. Neither is right in a loving, equal relationship, and that's what every relationship should be (Equal), regardless of age difference or sexuality. Well, that's an interesting theory, but Tae was smiling enough, so I don't think there was any animosity there at all. But, if they did make up as friends later (as seen on June 2019, at PBG's birthday), I wonder what happened after that. They were everywhere together. Tae mentioned Bogum in interviews and vice versa, and all of a sudden, radio silence. Tae didn't even wish PBG when he left for the military. It's weird. So maybe, it was a 'breaking up' of sorts, and it happened in June, and not April, when the Bangtan bomb was filmed (I think). -

Ah, don't remind me. I was devastated when that scandal broker out. I knew exactly what would happen in its aftermath, and that's what happened. They're avoiding each other now. Sigh...Xiao zhan always looked like a confused puppy. He should have needed a LOT more, undisturbed time to come to terms with everything. This probably pushed him so far back into the closet that he's in Narnia now..sigh...ah, I'm sighing too much...it's just too sad. Yibo was just so obvious back then, and their chemistry was, whoa. Now, all we can hope is, he doesn't panic and marry a girl too fast and regret it later, and ultimately causing her pain too. He probably needs a few more years to assimilate his thoughts, and if he's bi, like I suspect he is, chances are, he might never act on his thoughts on the same sex. -

Of course, but they didn't create speculations that ended in fan panic hehe. Fans were saying he was clinging when there was literally no fan around, just while hanging out. It was even in articles, that noticeable. So, if not sus, I'll just consider it a receipt for how "gay" he is? I mean, if you dig through the Park Bogum and Love in the moonlight threads (especially the drama thread), the mods had to delete a lot of posts because fans of the drama started pointing out how "unmanly" he was with men (not just the manager, even his male costars) and it created a huge issue where PBG fans had to defend him. Now his fans just accept it I guess. I was very surprised the first time I saw the complete change in his drama personas (you know, charming, manly though soft - that's how most of his roles are) and real world persona, when he's not out there interacting with fans. That's what I meant. -

Actually no, I saw the video again because people keep pointing it out, and JK shouts "Bogum hyung" right after seeing him, and smiles widely, so no bad blood from his side. Yoongi probably didn't know him very well, and we all know he isn't one to be overly excited about anything, let alone a fellow celebrity he doesn't even know. Taehyung smiles, but isn't overly affectionate, but he looks very happy. The first reactions are usually the true reactions and he was shy but happy to see him. That's all I see. The shitstorm started at the end of June, a few months later, when people who had a coffee date a few days back totally stopped interacting everywhere, even though I don't think things are that bad between BTS as a whole and Bogum because Jin posted a pic of his on We chat 2 months back. That cult thing, if it was true, would have tanked his career, since it tanks political careers in SK. If you dig a little in twitter, you'll see a Korean posting a lot of receipts about how only western fans still talk about the cult and it was all cleared up back then, and he goes to hospitals for volunteer work and treatments so it doesn't make sense. If he was too into the Homophobic doctrines of Christianity, he'll act weird around a LOT of circumstances, and he rarely does. There'll be no gay rumors at all, since you know how Cult boys are good at suppressing themselves. -

Yeah, I saw what he posted. Bogum was famous back in 2016, but BTS wasn't that famous, at least not enough to be recognized by a random gay guy, but Song Joong Ki certainly was more than famous. Maybe the gay rumors about the 2 of them got too big for the company to handle, which is why SJK married so fast. It was a weird setup when you think about it. They barely dated a year before they married, and then within a year, rumors of them separating were everywhere, and the next year, they divorced, abruptly, without explanations (SJK didn't even inform his parents). Tae had the cutest puppy crush, but I never saw Bogum reciprocating it. He treated him like a kid, no lingering glances, never shy, nothing out of the ordinary for guy who's so emotionally charged (cries at the top of the hat). This is why I'm not sure if they ever dated. Hung out coz both are gay (if PBG goes to gay clubs and its well-know, then V probably knew about it too and found comfort in a fellow gay guy (considering how depressed he was - Stigma and all), but I would believe they dated or had feelings on both sides if PBG just showed SOMETHING, but the Music bank videos are sad. He just has his "Ah, you're so cute", smile, and nothing else. Tae caught feelings, yes, but I don't think Bogum reciprocated it for them to have much of anything in the terms of a relationship. That vid wasn't awkward to me since Jin just posted his photo with him a few months back, and it was probably an auto-bot or staff that unfollowed him because he didn't follow them (Influencers do that a lot to keep their follower % decent). Yeah, this is why I don't believe that video was ever awkward. They hung out later, they were still friends, celebrated birthday and all, but then exactly 10 days later, the divorce news broke out, after which PBG was linked to SHK, and that's it, no more V and PBG. Too much of a coincidence. Now the question is, the PBG and SHK rumors were quite persistent, a lot of people believed them, and still believe those rumors as the number 1 reason for Song-Song divorce. So, either it really was true (which is, whoa, I'll question everything I see from now on if its true haha), or a smokescreen created by their PR teams to clear them off more damaging rumors (gay), and maybe that's why they never did anything more to help quell it (a statement that they'll take action, which the company never followed-through on, and no denials from either SJK or SHK - they let the rumor fester too much, if you ask me). Given that they stopped interacting after the last cheating rumor, hmm, maybe Tae was quite serious, and subsequently hurt, or maybe he felt disgusted that PBG cheated (if that rumor was actually true, which I don't think it is). But then again, I don't think the feelings he caught were too serious because Jin just posted a pic with PBG a few months back, so maybe Tae was a little hurt back then, but maybe they were just good friends and he just got over it? But the fact that they stopped meeting up for their little dates does mean that Tae was hurt at some point, and that point was during Song-Song divorce, so if the gay rumors are to be believed, maybe something happened between SJK and PBG. And yup, Tinfoil lol. All we can do is speculate without our Onehallyu bubble, it's not like we'll ever know the truth. Nah, I kept seeing that SJK had gay rumors, though they were squashed like anything after Song-Song were confirmed, like whoa, perfectly squashed. Before that people thought SJK and PBG weird, didn't they? Look at any of their videos (especially the fanmeeting ones) and you'll see angry fans asking them to behave. -

To the extreme weird. His scandal with SHK cleared up his gay rumors actually. It doesn't seem to have affected his image much, considering his high-profile movies right after. I saw comments joking how the rumors were ridiculous but now he's an 'innocent' man (not gay). Coincidence? Gay rumors are more damaging than cheating rumors that were immediately denied, after all. There was a huge rumor about him visiting a hospital for a medical emergency, http://koalasplayground.com/2019/08/25/park-bo-gum-trends-on-search-engines-as-seeking-awkward-medical-treatment-after-anonymous-post/ but I see nothing regarding that incident anymore - totally wiped out, except for this lonely article, when his name was actually trending back then when the rumor came out. Someone tried really hard to "straighten" his image, and they succeeded, especially now with the military enlistment. Perfectly done. Actually, this is just speculation, but Song joog ki have rumors back then too? With In sung, and then Bogum. That single extremely rushed marriage + extremely rushed divorce cleared both their names, and now fangirls love them more than ever (especially Song Joong ki). Dunno what's the actual tea though, very confusing, but I don't personally believe that Bogum and V ever dated, seeing how Song Joong ki cried at Bogum getting an award, and he cried at their wedding, and the subsequent persistent rumors, and them stopping any interactions, etc, etc. Bogum and V were probably a smokescreen lol. Ah well, we can only speculate. -

Park Bogum - I read up on the cult stuff because it keeps popping up everywhere, but if he was truly supporting the cult, he wouldn't do an ALS challenge, or visit hospitals for volunteer work (there was even a weird rumor back in 2019 that he was admitted for a, you know, embarrassing issue). So, I'm not exactly sold on a homophobic cult-going christian image that antis like to project to say he's homophobic. That said, there are a lot of telling moments with men. He treats younger actresses like kids (Yoo jun - no interest - I don't know why they are shipped at all) and as playmates (Hyeri), and the older ones with extreme respect (Yoona, etc). That's all. He's extremely shy and his mannerisms completely change when he's with men he finds attractive (Joonki, back in the days). I found the manager videos very sus. That's not how a straight guy acts, even in Korea. I believe the manager is still around, though there are no rumors of them acting weird anymore, so they probably toned it down. I don't know if there was something between them, but hey, looks sus. And also, the censorship is huge in any mainstream site. His fans are too overprotective. They even let the 'cheated with SHK' rumors slide, but not the gay rumors, especially on twitter. Extremely defensive, if you ask me. -

baekjoong replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I come back here after almost a year of absence and people are still knee deep in the Vkook vs Jikook debate LOL. Oh, and to add on to the discussion, as a married person (newly married, infact), I don't think people suddenly stop thinking everyone else look like cardboard cutouts once they are in love. They still admire other people and their attractiveness. And it doesn't matter. Why? Well, the bond you have with your significant other far surpasses any compliments you can give someone else. If the bond is strong, neither of the couple will ever feel insecure over simple things like that. We smile at our colleagues at work. Talk to them. Laugh with them. It might look like flirting to a third person, but it's just being friendly. You might even find someone attractive while on the subway, and you might glance at them. But that's it. It's appreciating beauty. You might even do that for a well-dressed person of a sex you are not sexually attracted to.That's real life. People who say you shouldn't look at anyone else if you're in love are just insecure, and no, that's not healthy. At all. -

Yes, I do know. I was depressed an suicidal as well. But fact remains that, if there really were something that stands out, we'll never get to hear it, and that's what I meant. I'm the last person who'll diminish his pain, and I didn't think my post came off like that. That said, I'm not in the state of mind to go back and forth right now, or get involved in any discussion like I usually do, so I better take a break from this thread. -

Can we just let people grieve the way they want to? I know this thread loves censoring people for the littlest things, but I hoped that wouldn't be the case this time. I was wrong. If thinking him being LGBT played a role makes them grieve better, let them! I know that was part of my process yesterday. It helped me expend energy against the society more rather than just thinking "Why" over and over. No one's speculating here. They're just handling something so tragic the way they can. -

Yeah, me too. Woohyun came to my mind when I was heard about Jonghyun. I'll never forget the way he cried on stage that time. I just wish these people have support systems, like minded friends who can help each other. I don't think its fair that they are made to feel so lonely and helpless. -

The first time I heard about Sex ed in American schools was when I was already of legal age lol. It was a strange phenomenon for me then. But Korea might be different, though I doubt it. Umm, I don't think porn is as hard to get as you think it is. It's illegal where I am as well, but our teenage boys don't have any problem getting access to them. Kids always find a way. Ps. We used to share all kind of paid stuff when we were at school. Technology is much more advanced now, so I'm sure they have no trouble getting access to paid/restricted stuff. -

Came across this in my feed again lol. Good timing. A great example of how suspicious off-camera skinship looks (especially the start where Ken holds Jin's face before he lays him down on his lap). Not everything is "Koreans being Koreans" folks. -

Yeah, it's getting so bad that people here are thinking twice before calling obviously gay guys gay, coz we don't want the "stereotyping" accusation thrown at us. Utter bulls**t. smh. "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck". That Korean rule is complete bs lol. Most Asian countries have similar cultures (Korean culture is similar to my culture) and yes, skinship isn't such a big deal, unlike the west, but it isn't as bad as these girls think it is. You can't hump your "friend" in public or be all over them and still not get weird stares. They just won't call you out on it (but they'll talk behind your back). That's the only difference. -

That comment section is a mess lol. We have straight fangirls educating a gay man on who's gay and who's not. Oh, and we also have westerners educating an Asian living in Korea on how "different" Korea is. Kind of similar to the "Oppa is straight, stop stereotyping!!!" fangirls we get here. -

Or even knowing which orientation they are. Asian teens don't have a flourishing sex life like Western teens do. Most of their sexual experiences at that age are limited to porn. -

Hi! Yeah, Mom's diary can be a bummer if you let their heteronormative shit get to you. The premise of the show is "why their 40 (or 40+) year old sons are unmarried" so they play up that "straight and single but looking for a wife" narrative a lot. I'm assuming its a show watched by a lot of older housewives. So don't worry about it. But even then, Tony could be Bi, or he could have bearded a lot in his early years to please his mom/fans/friends etc. If you hear him talk about his story, he says 2008 (military) was his turning point. That he was living a fake life before then (no real friends, always alone) and meeting Jaeduck made all the difference. That's pretty telling, in my opinion. He was probably trying to live up to societal standards before that, which was why he was constantly depressed. Jaeduck seems to have made a HUGE impact on his outlook towards life for a mere friend (or even best friend). The fact that they immediately started living together, go on vacations together and refuse to separate from each other even when the marriage pressure is at an all time high for them right now (both are hitting 40 pretty soon and literally everyone's asking them about marriage every chance they get) tells me he probably met a like minded person who gave him the strength to live his life for himself. Pretty romantic, if the story wasn't so sad. Well, I was confused about who paid the most as well, but I'm assuming Jaeduck paid most or all, simply because Tony responded immediately in that Mom's diary episode saying so. It wasn't scripted (the way he said it was instinctive, almost), so I take that more into account than their Refrigerator episode. Either way, he spent all the money he earned on that house, which isn't normal, as you said. Tony bought their house. It was confirmed more than once in the Mom's diary episodes. Umm, maybe look at their house warming episode (the episode number was around 40ish I think)? I forgot which one it was. Danny An and Tony's mom expressed concerns about how he was going to sell the house since it has a weird convenient store installed in the kitchen and a home bar now. Also, I heard that news came out when he bought the house back in 2013, so it's their house. They've expressed it many times. They remodeled the house. You can't do that on rented property. I'm not sure if we can find any English sources (it's so rare with these older groups :( ), but if anyone does have, please share. Really? I know Tony has his own bathroom (Jaeduck talked about cleaning his bathroom in one of the latest episodes), which probably means there is at least one more bathroom in their house. Maybe it is bigger. But now Jaeduck converted their third bedroom into his closet (the pic I attached), which is what I was more surprised about, since those are privileges house owners have, not house mates. That jealousy moment was kinda shocking, actually. You don't see such blatant displays of jealousy in the other "couples" we discuss in this thread. It was on instinct. He was visibly angry and upset, his face heated up, he started sweating, he tried to cover it up when he was called out but that made everything worse. Lol, it was hilarious, but ridiculous too. I mean, he's getting jealous over something that happened 23+ years back. But, that moment is one of their biggest proofs. If you have more moments to share, or if you want to talk more about them here, please do. I rarely see a Jekki/Toduck fan in this thread. Would love to discuss them more. -

No one here thinks all of BTS is gay. We just discuss the receipts. When we start calling them gay/bi 100%, and refuse to accept any other possibility at all, throw the words "delusion" at us. Before then, "oppa is straight" fangirls can eff off. Seriously. I discuss more than one group in here, but I find myself defending BTS all the time. It's getting tiring. If you think someone's gay/bi/pan, sure. If you think they're straight, sure. There is no need to defend for or against any of these stances. Moreover, remember that this thread has 100s of people posting on it, people with different points of views. Don't generalize. Frankly, you girls look immature and dumb when you come here and post single lines about how someone is "soooo straight", when we write essays about how they "could" be LGBT, argue for and against receipts someone presents here, and still conclude that we're just speculating, and anything could be true. We don't know for sure if they're LGBT. I'm sure the people in this thread know that. Do you girls know that you can't be sure that they're straight? I doubt it. Ps. Lol at the girl who said with certainty that Jin is the only gay one, but admitted that she does not even notice him, meaning he's not her bias, and she wanted a weak defense against her ACTUAL bias being "accused" of being gay (wonder who it is). -
