These are 3 major Disney animated musicals of the decade. Which one do you think: -Has the best animation? -Has the best main character? -Has best songs? -Has best scores? -Has the best directing? -Is the best film overall and why?
-
Yup. Thanks to Andrew Lesnie (R.I.P), the 6-film saga showcases outstanding cinematography.

I think extended editions are better as films themselves. An Unexpected Journey got decent amount of improvement, The Desolation of Smaug got significant amount of improvement, and The Battle of the Five Armies... I think they should've released the extended edition in the first place (minus all those blood and gore, of course). In any case, I would still take The Hobbit trilogy over Star Wars prequel trilogy any day.

You know... after hearing about Game of Thrones: Season 8, I feel like The Hobbit trilogy wasn't actually that bad after all, especially if you watch the extended version.

Now that both epic fantasy series have been completed (pretty much), which series: -Do you think has better visuals, sets, costumes, and so on and why? -Do you think has better soundtracks and why? -Do you think has better action/battle scenes and why? -Do you think is a better series overall and why? Also, between Westeros and Middle-earth, which world would you like to visit and why?

These are 3 recent big-budget Marvel/DC adaptations that have female or black superhero as main character(s). Here are some of the things that I would like to ask: -Best directing? -Best leading character? -Best soundtrack/score? -Best visuals? -Best actions? -Best film overall? How would you answer these questions and why? In which order?

How would you rank 7 live-action Spider-Man films? Here's how I would rank them: 1. Spider-Man: Far from Home (a good amalgamation of Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming) 2. Spider-Man 2 (probably the best overall film) 3. Spider-Man: Homecoming (a slice-of-life film disguised as a superhero film - and it works!) 4. Spider-Man (the first "modern" superhero film) 5. The Amazing Spider-Man (lame villain) 6. Spider-Man 3 (too many stories) 7. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (a bad amalgamation of Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man)

Yorktown from Star Trek Beyond: Tokyo from Ghost in the Shell: I'll have to say, they're some of the best futuristic city incarnations I've seen in recent years.

Remember how some films like these: -Brother Bear -Enchanted -The Grand Budapest Hotel -The Horse Whisperer -The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (IMAX) -It Comes at Night -Life of Pi -Oz the Great and Powerful -Scott Pilgrim vs. the World ...have shifting aspect ratios depending on the scene? That seems to be what's happening with 'Hello World' based on what I've seen from the trailer: ...but I'm not entirely sure if that's actually happening in the film itself or it's just a trailer that does this. Can anyone give any information about this film's aspect ratio? If the film DOES have aspect ratio shifts, where does this happen and what aspect ratios does this film use?

I'm hearing that this film is terrible. Is that actually true? If so, would you say that it's worse than 'Fireworks'? Why or why not?

I can give you whopping 160 reasons why we should all appreciate animation as one of the greatest art forms we have today: Exhibit 1 Exhibit 2 Exhibit 3 Exhibit 4 Exhibit 5 Exhibit 6 Exhibit 7 Exhibit 8 Exhibit 9 Exhibit 10 Exhibit 11 Exhibit 12 Exhibit 13 Exhibit 14 Exhibit 15 Exhibit 16 Exhibit 17 Exhibit 18 Exhibit 19 Exhibit 20 Exhibit 21 Exhibit 22 Exhibit 23 Exhibit 24 Exhibit 25 Exhibit 26 Exhibit 27 Exhibit 28 Exhibit 29 Exhibit 30 Exhibit 31 Exhibit 32 Exhibit 33 Exhibit 34 Exhibit 35 Exhibit 36 Exhibit 37 Exhibit 38 Exhibit 39 Exhibit 40 Exhibit 41 Exhibit 42 Exhibit 43 Exhibit 44 Exhibit 45 Exhibit 46 Exhibit 47 Exhibit 48 Exhibit 49 Exhibit 50 Exhibit 51 Exhibit 52 Exhibit 53 Exhibit 54 Exhibit 55 Exhibit 56 Exhibit 57 Exhibit 58 Exhibit 59 Exhibit 60 Exhibit 61 Exhibit 62 Exhibit 63 Exhibit 64 Exhibit 65 Exhibit 66 Exhibit 67 Exhibit 68 Exhibit 69 Exhibit 70 Exhibit 71 Exhibit 72 Exhibit 73 Exhibit 74 Exhibit 75 Exhibit 76 Exhibit 77 Exhibit 78 Exhibit 79 Exhibit 80 Exhibit 81 Exhibit 82 Exhibit 83 Exhibit 84 Exhibit 85 Exhibit 86 Exhibit 87 Exhibit 88 Exhibit 89 Exhibit 90 Exhibit 91 Exhibit 92 Exhibit 93 Exhibit 94 Exhibit 95 Exhibit 96 Exhibit 97 Exhibit 98 Exhibit 99 Exhibit 100 Exhibit 101 Exhibit 102 Exhibit 103 Exhibit 104 Exhibit 105 Exhibit 106 Exhibit 107 Exhibit 108 Exhibit 109 Exhibit 110 Exhibit 111 Exhibit 112 Exhibit 113 Exhibit 114 Exhibit 115 Exhibit 116 Exhibit 117 Exhibit 118 Exhibit 119 Exhibit 120 Exhibit 121 Exhibit 122 Exhibit 123 Exhibit 124 Exhibit 125 Exhibit 126 Exhibit 127 Exhibit 128 Exhibit 129 Exhibit 130 Exhibit 131 Exhibit 132 Exhibit 133 Exhibit 134 Exhibit 135 Exhibit 136 Exhibit 137 Exhibit 138 Exhibit 139 Exhibit 140 Exhibit 141 Exhibit 142 Exhibit 143 Exhibit 144 Exhibit 145 Exhibit 146 Exhibit 147 Exhibit 148 Exhibit 149 Exhibit 150 Exhibit 151 Exhibit 152 Exhibit 153 Exhibit 154 Exhibit 155 Exhibit 156 Exhibit 157 Exhibit 158 Exhibit 159 Exhibit 160 Exhibit 161 Exhibit 162 You see these? Can you spot any similarities in terms of styles with these films? I assume that many of you will not find much stylistic similarities with these films even from the same director or studio at times. And that's exactly the point. When it comes to animation, there is no right or wrong answer on which style of animation you go with. I, for one, have an obvious pro-Pixar bias, but even I will have to give some credits to more "simplistic" animation style as they have reasons to go with such styles. Of course, not all of these will appeal to everyone. Some of these exhibits are from poorly-reviewed films, and some of you might not like the style that some of these exhibits are going with. But even then, these 160 exhibits showcase some of the different ways that you can create animations. P.S. Noticed how I have 162 exhibits even though I'm only talking about 160 of them? That's because 2 of them don't deserve any sort of praise in terms of animation.

Guys, I have a question. What branch does ‘Remember Me’ fall into? ‘Cupid’ branch (‘Cupid’, ‘Liar Liar’, and ‘Coloring Book’)? ‘Closer’ branch (‘Closer’, ‘Windy Day’, and ‘Secret Garden’)? Or bit of a both?- 39,684 replies

In case some of you guys don't know what 'Aria' is, this is a sci-fi slice-of-life manga series by Kozue Amano. It has been adapted to 3-seasons anime series - 'Aria the Animation', 'Aria the Natural', and 'Aria the Origination'. This is a series where a Venice has been rebuilt on terraformed Mars in the future. Here, there are 2 largest gondola companies - Himeya and Orange Planet. Himeya is the oldest gondola company in the series, portrayed as a place where it had lots of well-known gondoliers for many many years and has been credited for establishing a successful business model. Aika S. Granzchesta is from this company. Orange Planet is portrayed as the most successful gondola company in the series. Given its relatively young age, it could be said that this company has achieved its success in such a short amount of time. Alice Carroll is from this company. This got me thinking, I think these 2 companies can be compared with 2 most successful animation studios in the world - Disney and Pixar. In this case, Himeya would be Disney, which is the oldest existing animation studio in the world right now and has been making one animated classic after another for 80 years while Orange Planet would be Pixar, which has been credited for revolutionizing feature animation and still doing so even today (seriously, just watch 'Coco' and you'll understand why), not to mention that they had the first billion Dollar-grossing animated film (Toy Story 3) and has the largest number of such films (3, with 'Toy Story 3', 'Finding Dory', and soon-to-be-added 'Incredibles 2'). Any thoughts on this? What other comparisons would you make regarding Himeya and Orange Planet?
