the public know of NCT but the members are rarely promoted outside of music shows. we got one radio appearance from NCT127 this comeback? i guess weekly idol is coming up but still. its less than FT. limitless isn't exactly a hook-song either (but a masterpiece nonetheless). 

 

ten was on HTS but dat got cancelled quick. doyoung is on lipstick prince but even thats like a cable show on an exclusive channel. idek what channel idol party w/ yuta is airing on. none have guested on more popular shows like knowing bros, radio star, masked singer, etc (i guess its not the time just yet)

Dream gets enough free publicity simply by being a group of minors + they can release a catchy song + mark is on HS rapper. its a good time for a cb despite competition, its better to catch more wayward fish this way

SM shouldn't delay their plans any longer if they want to debut the other units this year. tho i would have liked mark and haechan to have a longer break, esp mark since he will be promoting with Dream and competing on HS rapper at the same time

while others are busy in the game, all i see is Jaehyun leaning to WW.

taking it with a grain of salt already? No wonder, SM delayed their plans last year after all, but they can't delay it any longer, they gotta establish their bases so they can grow from there as they expected the last year.

 

I feel so nervous, these guys will be giving everything this year and we'll be introduced to more members. We'll witness NCT's system in all it's glory.

Do you think DREAM chinese members will be included in the chinese subunit?

Some people said that "full" in the second quarter meant a 127 full album. If that's true Mark and Haechan will have a good round of work.

Totally unrelated but... I always get the vibe that Johnny speaks like a newsreader. Like, he takes extra care of how he pronounces his words,

Totally, he gives unnecessary drama but is like a costume he has, I don't think it's planified. He gives a serious vibe, tbh, I tought he'd be more playful.

 

On NCTlife in Bangkok Ten was saying how much his father liked Johnny and he solemnly said "Ten's father, thank you" lmao, I found it pretty funny.

i think people thought johnny would be a jokester or w/e bc of the stereotype of coming from the US and his carefree personality in NCT Life in BKK but i agree I think he's just easy-going, not exactly super playful/chirpy

 

he definitely gives off the vibe of being one of the older members. and judging by the NCT Life Mini series he has pretty deep thoughts about life, goals, members, family etc

Idk. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's their choice or not. If they weren't "allowed" per se to sing live on stage then they would have just got good pre-recording of the whole group rather than only letting a few sing. More likely, the boys just chose to lipsync. Why? I couldn't tell you, but even older groups (members) will sometimes just lipsync to the track. It's not necessarily that they are being told to or that they aren't allowed to sing live. More likely they might not feel like it or be comfortable doing so which are two completely different beasts all together.

The short of the long: it's not always as simple as you think it is. Eventually, they will have a totally live stage with live vocals, and we will all be able to enjoy it to the fullest. It's very disappointing when idols lipsync, but unfortunately it's become a large factor in live performances these days so there's no avoiding it even at concerts. Just gotta roll with it.

 

 

Nah, groups gotta fulfil a quota of actual live singing for music shows so that's most likely where the whole half/half is coming from. I do genuinely think it was a logistic choice of some sort tbh i personally don't see that it was "more likely" their choice. But to each their own opinion, we don't actually and will never actually know.

I mean rolling with it is one thing if they're all lip syncing but like many have said this half and half business just looks silly and undermines the group talent.

Yeah its definetly sm's choice and not the boys. I'm sure all of them can do live pretty well especially Haechan and Jaehyun I heard Jaehyun sing Without You live pretty well. Its ridiculous that Yuta/Winwin/Johnny have only one line and have to lipsynch it. I heard the members sing live plenty of times during smrookies and the rare live performances of T7S/Firetruck. Its not right to the boys and it actually makes people doubt NCT's talent. I've seen a lot of backlash against NCT because their lack of live stages and I want the boys to prove to them that they can do it. And now many think that the four members are the only ones that are stable enough to sing live. Its stupid I hope SM listens to this critisicm and we get a live performance we're everyone sings live.

 

Also, its weird hearing a performance half live and half lipsynch

For those who havent checked out their SM Rookies concert stuff i strongly suggest you do it. especially the vocal trio's slayage. i underestimated jaehyun and (to a lesser extent, only bc he was falsetto-ing his ass off in T7S) Doyoung before coming across the videos. after seeing them show what they got i realised Jaehyun was actually pretty effin good and Doyoung was a beast

 

The only reason we fans knew Yuta could SANG his ass off is bc of a vocal stage they did as rookies. He had a rap in FT and like no lines in the mini, wow, iconic

 

SO DO CHECK IT OUT PPL

 

 

 

i hope SM does take the feedback... and REALLY really work out what they're doing with these live performances. frustrating as a fan when you know they're being held back

Yeah I had the same question while watching it I wish it wasn't like that and they let everyone sing live. I'm proud of Taeyong tho he improved. I'll take anything at this point tbh but I hope they perform this live all together one day.

Taeyong has definitely improved. And it's through singing live that he's been able to do that by working on it

 

i'm not really getting the reasoning behind this. We know Haechan and Jaehyun sing just fine, they're not Doyoung's level of stability but they can hold their own with the above four easily. 

Yuta has ONE line. he CAN do that. same thing for Winwin and Johnny. 

 

It's definitely an active choice by SM but why? I'm pretty sure the members would prefer to sing live, it's not really that deep an issue of them feeling "insecure" about their ability to sing +dance at the same time tbh. just seems like some weird logistical decisions SM has made..... that make no sense to me 

 

i really hope we get one where everyone is live. this type of thing undermines their talent as a group imo and kinda sends a message that only the four who were singing live are talented/necessary members
