Honestly, it reminds me more of Got7 at first listen. I'm not sure why, but it kind of put me in mind of Prove it? Though I can kinda get a Vixx-ish feel too. Either way, I could see it being an interesting song for baby fishie.

Ah, thank you for reminding me why Jaehwan has been in my top 11 from day 1. Gosh, his voice is just something else. I'm so glad he's doing well in the rankings right now.

Apparently Yongguk went from being 30something at best on my list to my top 11 or so and I didn't even know it. Funny how that happened. Here I thought the only people trying to wreck my top 11 right now were Daehwi and Daniel. Who will probably move in post-elimination because I'll have the room.......... ;A;

I'm not a fangirl for any of them, so that's not what I said at all? In fact, the fact that I'm neutral towards the group and still preferred Yongguk from a performance standpoint was more what I was getting at. You don't have to be a fangirl to preference someone. But you're pretty good at twisting people's words and putting in non-existent meanings into conversations to try to prove a point. So I'm not going to stress this convo. Exactly. Yongguk had good tone and emoted really well. Simply was my favorite part of the performance, simple as that. Ah, my bad. Was just the general impression you managed to give me. Sorry for attributing you with things that you weren't implying! tbh it was pretty obviously a Taehyun choreo and I'm not even in Hotshot fandom, but if not for Taehyun who else in that team could have choreographed it? No one else has the skills that I'm aware of, so they didn't have to say anything about it. For all we know,t he audience goes into a performance with a bare minimal bit of information, their names and that they're doing X song. Seongri has a good voice, I'm not going to dispute that. However, I feel like just because someone is the main or a center doesn't mean they should be the one to win. I'm pretty neutral to the group as a whole, but Yongguk would have been my pick just from a performance stand point too. I really liked his tone and voice. As a live audience, I wouldn't vote based on who 'needs' it more, but on who I felt deserved it more. I don't see why that sort of outlook is wrong. Different people like different things and I think that's okay and not something that's necessarily a failure.

What I learned is: Daehwi is a sad puppy and I want to protect him, because that third gif was heart breaking. Poor pup. Giving these guys a week to learn a dance as fussy as Nayana is stupid, look at Moonie dance now. You go boo. People will actually click on all of the spoilers for a discussion they don't want to see just to be pressed about the discussion happening. Which just makes me want to have more of them tbh. It's kinda funny how people can see things differently, don't you think? Because hell I've been Kai biased for years, but after watching an Exo concert for the longest time the only thing I could talk about was Xiumin, because the man snatched my attention but hard. Basically the way you described Nini there is how I felt about XiuXiu in that concert. He's incredibly magnetic. That said, I don't really think Exo has a center. Not really, not in the traditional sense of the word.

I'd say BTS effectively has a center imho. Hell, on occasions I feel like they've actually got this rotating center system in place that changes their center depending on concept and the like. (Like I feel like Jungkook is kinda the go to center of the group with rotation recently for both Hoseok and Jimin, but I would for the most part acknowledge Jungkook as the center.) Or how I'd argue if anyone told me Hakyeon wasn't the center of Vixx, because I can think of very few times where he hasn't been. But for the most part I'd agree that a lot of kpop groups don't have a clear center position. ........does Exo even have an official face? I mean, Nini's the 'visual', but is he the face? I would have assumed it was Baekhyun or maybe Kyungsoo. Simply because with their solo stuff they've got to be fairly well known by the GP, right? I mean Dream High helped me love her, but I watched Dream High because of Suzy not the other way around. Though I'd say she's definitely on a special tier of visual now. She's, to me, unarguably one of the best visuals in kpop. She's simply just gorgeous somehow.

I'm also a 3x. I would have been floored to have someone in this to call Oppa. Because there's just no way. But I'm okay with that. I've still got SuJu, Shinhwa, etc after all. u_u ... For you it's Rainie, for me it was Suzy. I never could have imagined she'd blow up like this! But I've loved her since debut! She wasn't the best vocal, wasn't the best dancer, but she was just... Suzy and I loved her and then suddenly all of SK seemed to love her too. It was really confusing, but also really cool? I understand the whole 'forced to stan' thing. It's taken me so long to get over this block I have for a certain very, very well known group from a company that starts with a Y and ends with a G, just because 'they're the best and you should love them because they own the world blah blah blah'. Hype aversion doesn't help, but I just didn't like how it felt like people were insisting that you couldn't be a kpop fan if you weren't also into that group. i'm too stubborn for that sort of tactic to work on me. Which sucks, because I've missed out on a lot of bops because of that, but I worked through it and passed it. Bops no longer missed, personalities have been found, and fondness has been acquired. Though... honestly that's basically every group from that company for me. They've all had uphill battles to get my attention. I feel like there are idols who should be actors and idols who shouldn't be actors but somehow keep acting anyway. The first category I will fight for with zero reservation. The second.... well that's just life and it sucks for the actors who need work and can't find it because of it, but... what can you do? Just going to sagely nod and feel happy, because gosh I love reading you talk about our Chibal. I don't think there's anything there I can disagree with, because it's all pretty well thought out and common-sensy. I haven't been into J-pop for a long time and my familiarity with AKB is... very slim and partially related to 0048. But even I know that's what made Acchan... Acchan. Which... really actually I feel sums up Jihoon really well now that you mention it. He's not the most talented, he's not the most attractive (to me), his personality is around average, but he's just got that Center Aura. Not everyone can be that person and that's not a slam against them, it's just how it is. I'd never have thought of it like that if you hadn't.

The more popularity he has, the more likely another agency will be willing to pick him up. Therefore. Don't give up Chibal! Keep fighting like you already are! I'm hoping your hard work pays off in the long run! I'm not unfamiliar with companies with no money and they really can kill a career whether they mean to or not. I'm not blaming HIM for this, but... well... I'd rather Sungwoo got off the proverbially sinking ship while he can before he gets sucked under with it so to speak. Oh gosh, Blossom would be a real dream come true wouldn't it? They clearly know how to market someone with his appeal, so they'd know just how to handle him. But alas... that's one far fetched feeling dream. (I can already feel people being like "they have X and Y, they don't need him, he's like a bargain version of them" to which I say boo and gtfo out of my head haters.

He's... almost entirely a personality pick. Even i can't say otherwise. Well, personality plus visual technically. Can't forget his face and well... the whole general visual package he presents. That'd be silly. I'm not sure I have a giddy type feeling for anyone. I think maybe Minki comes close? Which is... heh, not something that happens often. He's gotten like .6 seconds of screen time. But he's precious and just... alksd;jfasdf and It's frustrating how people don't think he's talented because Minki is lovely and has talents! He's got a nice voice and he plays the piano and he dances nicely and just it's frustrating! Because well.... .5 seconds, he's just a pretty face, blah blah blah. But I'm still pretty solidly a Chibal bias, even if I would label Jonghyun as my #1 pick at this point. (Mostly because from a rational standpoint I feel like the top 11 needs leader and... not so much some of the others I like) Haha, I do feel like he is, even if most teams don't seem to realize it at the time. He's seemingly a great boon for people in leadership positions. It's seemingly worked twice now. That's gotta mean something surely. I actually do find talent to be an important part of things too, but it's not the only part. The IT factor is definitely an aspect of it too. But my ramble got kinda long, so i'm going to spoiler cut myself since it's kind of OT.

I kinda love how Coven tend to be among the first to go "Oh, they've got Sungwoo on their team. Difficulty +10. Good luck." about it. I swear we're actually supportive deep down, but we're also the first to admit that he's lacking in core ability.It's just that we like him anyway, that's all. Sure, he needs a lot of training, but so what? We're also one of the few fandoms I've seen to be all 'I hope he makes it far, but not into the top 11'. Not wanting your trainee to win tends to be counter productive, but it kind of works for us somehow. I just want the jik-cam's to be released already, I want to see just how his dancing has changed from his first performance to be mine to now. With the way things were in the group cam it was hard to really tell just how he was moving really because of the positions and everything. How'm I supposed to critique what I can't see???? D: I seriously stand by the fact that Sungwoo got really, really lucky with having Taehyun on his team, both because he's a damn good choreographer, but also because he's experienced in a way few are. I'm not particularly familiar with hotshot, but I tend to assume they have at least one dance black hole same as every other group so he's probably used to working to improve and mask that sort of flaw already. I'm honestly not sure who else would have been able to pull that feat off.

So I'm just going to repost something from the Chibal coven to hopefully get more feedback here. To disclaimer: I don't really listen to american music and produce 101 was literally my first time hearing Shape of You ever. (I don't get out much, so I don't hear things on the radio much either. My car is a kpop zone) Did I get something wrong in my ignorance of the song maybe? Because I kept seeing "major lazer remix" on all of the places where the song was mentioned, but that was clearly not the start of the major lazer remix at all....right?

..... So I'm not particularly familiar with Shape of You as a song. I've been listening to different versions and I'm really confused. The show credits it as the major lazer remix? But the opening of the performance is the normal version and then later it's the major lazer remix. It's kind of a weird blend? Like the first minute is the normal mix and then it switches to the major lazer mix at the :56 part of the naver upload. Did they give the guys the track they were using for the performance right the start? Is that how that works? Because if you just said 'here's your song' then they would have choreographed for something COMPLETELY different depending on which version they'd been listening to at the start. I am legit so confused right now. Here's the original version, you'll recognize the start of the song through about the :49 second mark Then you'll recognize a switch from that version to this one for the dance break and the like: Center of you performance: What sort of messed up Frankenstein track are they performing to??????????? Seriously it's suddenly really clear why they might have had to redo their choreo.

People have mentioned Guan Lin for the So Hye spot too and to a lesser degree Seonho as well. Hardly any training, on the poor side for performance, hard working, etc.

Oh... here I thought The Legend had already disbanded. Sad to hear about their agency issues/lawsuit and the like. They had some really good songs. (Even before the show started, I'd been talking about how Yijeong would have been SO GOOD on 101 because he's got the skillset and the charisma to do well. Then this. I really feel like this was a missed opportunity.)

Crutches don't work very well if they're small. They've got to be able to hold your weight and be at a specific height after all. So if it's just a small crutch that says .... Makes it complicated, don't it? See everyone else seems to have gone demon cat, I went 'silly mouse, you're not a cat'. and then his jik-cam really just kinda won me over. He's actually got a really sweet smile when he's performing, you know? Too bad his first impression was so... yeah.

I'm still alive and I said the same thing, I think you're safe. Only I was a little more critical. I... might have said that the guitar is a crutch and he's going to need to learn to stand without it if he's serious about this idol path.
