  1. I rarely read fiction but anyone can give me rec on the best ones, max 400 pg. I like one with interesting lead and smart plot and element of suspense. Not romance.

There are tons of amazing fictional books.

I would recommend Gillian Flynn's crime/thriller books: Sharp objects, Dark Places and Gone Girl. My favorite is Gone Girl.

  2. What I've read once a long time ago (and I'm not sure how precise it is so take it with a grain of salt) is that there is a maximum amount of time that a sponsor's brand/name can appear per episode. I'm guessing that SBS still take sponsored clothes cause its income for them and then they just need to limit the amount of time the brand/name appear during editing according to broadcasting regulations.

    Thank you! That seems logical.
  3. Can someone explain the logic behind this? I understand that the show doesnt want to give free advertisement, so they cover the logos with tape.

But why is the show even giving the members and guests clothes with logos? Why not just buy neutral/plain clothes?? I dont get it. Am I missing something?

Sometimes they only cover the logos for some members but not others. b75d5ca703c03839e83357d4be4edc69.jpg71ddb6d9829b46982c96be413594a63b.jpg

  4. Kim Jongkok with his bag again :)

I should send an email to the show and ask why he's always wearing it.

Edit: I sent a DM to KJK and RM on instagram [emoji14]

I've been skimming a lot of old RM episodes lately and I wish the current RM would once in a while do an episode with a thorough theme again. I miss episodes like Reincarnation, 007, and others where the members kinda role play throughout the whole episode. I also kinda miss how the old episodes sometimes has a cinematic sense to it, the editing back then really worked wonders.

Yea, I agree. The games they are doing these days are also very simple. You could do them in your backyard or at a party with your friends.

I wonder if the show's budget has been reduced.

  5. I enjoyed the latest ep. ahmagahplz.png Suk Jin is really shining in recent eps. I hope So Min antis are satisfied. idontthinksobetchplz.png She's not being highlighted a lot recently.

The pirate game is there all over again but it was pretty much tolerable. ohpressor.png At least the first two games were new. Am I the only one who loves the noonchi game? ahmagahplz.png

Soompi's articles are kinda misleading tho. laugh.png I thought there'll be lots of moments with the two Ji Hyos and with Kwang Soo/Nayeon but they went below expectations.

Anyway, the girls are all fun to watch. Team Suyuk is my favorite but I have a soft spot for Team Rice. Ha Ha and Jeongyeon's teamup (along with his partnership with her sister) reminds me of Gary and the Jung sisters. rlytearpls.png

Oh god, i really do not like the noonchi game. The same with pirate game. Did they do the syllable game? The game where the PD says a syllable and the members have to say the next syllable to form a celebrity name or a word. They have been doing this a couple of times recently and I hate the fact that they reuse a game over and over

  6. Personally I've always felt this was just a restriction of the Running Man format in the first place. Even back in 2012 Cho PD said that he's afraid of the restriction that comes from a variety show that runs on games. There's just so many games that you can do differently for each episode. IC on the other hand has the advantage of not being game based. One project usually span over multiple episodes too so they have a theme to focus on and use over several weeks of broadcast. The RM production team needs to come up with something for every single week. To me Running Man has already long reached it's peak and has reached their limit as a variety show a long time ago, I'm now just trying to enjoy the show episode per episode.

Yeah, I agree. That is why the show has become a routine for SBS. Even for me as a viewer and long-time fan. I watch it as a weekly routine and not out of excitement.

I was sad when KJK and SJH were kicked out, but was super excited when Kang Hodong was announced to join. The idea of him joining was so CRAZY but I felt that craziness was something RM needed.

  7. So..

After a couple of months, do you guys think this duo PD (Lee Hwan Jin + Kim Han Jin) are doing better than chul min ?

    Personally I think so ..

Less repetive games , less focus on body gag, and seems KJK revitalized his role in the show .

I didnt even know they changed PDs.

For me, it feels the same. My biggest issue with Running Man for the past couple of years is that the jokes/humor are repetetive/over-used and the overall show feels lifeless. Feels like they are just doing the show out of routine.

Infinity Challenge was after 12 years still funny. Each episode was very different and creative. Running Man on the other hand consist of mini games that usually ends with a final mission. It's more streamlined and relies much more on the MCs' ability to entertain the viewers. On top of that, most RM MCs are not comedians (only Jaesuk, JSJ and Se Chan), but all IC MCs are comedians. This also helped IC a lot.
