Welcome! I'm new as well! ikr he's so rude barging into people's hearts without permission like this chuplz.png chuplz.png chuplz.png jonghyun stahp!

Thank you both for welcoming me QRLGYBO.png

On topic: Guys, so I'm reading fan-accounts, some say he did well, others poorly tho. I know we should not trust them  (like 90% of them were wrong about the 1st mission) but still... makes me wonder *prayer circle he did well*

It's okay. If you really want to know, I can tell ya, but if you want to know just for 'tea's sake, then it's not very nice, but I like to believe that people are better than trolls online.

He did make some sexist comments back then, and I would say that it's taken out of context (I was listening to the live show, ain't no one talking about how Tia agreed but everyone was clearly against Aron when he said it with a questioning tone). Antis went as far to leave hate messages and death threats, and Pledis gave no feedback. A lot of people didn't even know Aron apologized cause all he could do was to write a message on his Instagram as things were getting out of hand.

Another was the controversy back in 2013 regarding how the phrase he used for SVT. NU'EST and SVT trained together and are really close, arguments for Aron is that (1) he's not native to Korean language, so he said something bad and (2) it's like calling your friend an 'idiot', or 'stop being retarded'. Some people are offended, some are not. The conclusion is, Aron apologized again, first when the video came out and then once more in 2015 cause SVT debuted and got popular. Once again, Pledis left him for the wolves with no feedback, some aggressive stans begun again to leave mean comments to him that was borderline 'racist' (he's from LA, America, so a lot of them were cussing at him and telling him to 'get the fuck out of SK' among other things) and called him names. He had to take it to instagram with another lengthy apology because that's the only public platform he had, but people didn't care.

Even as an aron bias I'm very open about all these. He's a changed person now, and he grew and learned from it. Not many people could. He's not a mean person, he respect women (just look at how he treats his mother and his sisters), and he helped a lot of LOVEs when we went through a tough time through radio. Aron is a member who takes his time to get to know us fans, by names and when he meets us at fansigns and we tell him our usernames, he remembers us.

Not many people take their time to get to know him, unfortunately.

He's not gotten into any controversy since 2014, but people like to drag him from old things as per usual. This is the lengthy gist of it, but I hope it answers your queries.

I'm glad to hear that Aron has learned from his past and it's sad that he still gets dragged from it even after all these years. Anyway, thank you for your explanation. I really appreciate it :D

  3.

There's no official statement but here's fan speculation

    1. he hurt his ankle in late nov Auditions for pd101 starts in dec.

    2. his korean isn't very fluent plus he's been under public scrutiny before so pledis didn't let him go (also, he apologized before so i don't wanna dive into the history of it unless you want to see a 3k essay)

    3. maybe he just dont wanna do it.

either way, aron's in korea and official statement says nu'est has not disbanded, just on hiatus. he is somewhat banned on sns posting, but he's spotted in his friends sns and liking posts supporting his bros

What has he done to be under public scrutiny? Something recent? Because I found he apparently made some sexist comments like back in 2014. Is that what you mean or is there something else?

Sorry to bother, I just got more curious about NU'EST with this show.

  4. OMG! YES! I've been waiting so long for someone to mention SS501. Why do you think Jungmin is gay, i'm interested.

What first caught my attention were his mannerisms (and if you know him, you know how he is).

He has had many gay rumours about him since early years (and he always denied them). For example, back in 2009, the Japanese fans speculated that he and HyunJoon were gay (and dating each other ~oh glorious days for us shippers~) and Jungmin talked about this on a show:

“When we’re in Japan there’s a rumor of me liking our leader Hyunjoong. I actually put a prank on leader. I wrote him a love letter and put it into his bag just to tease him, and when he found the letter he took it out n continued my joke by saying that the letter was given by Jungmin to me and he even give me a belt as a gift. But that was just a ‘revenge’ from him to me for trying to put a prank on him. And that is the trigger to the rumor. It was totally a joke, yet, it lead into the gay rumor instead [...]â€

â€And as any other man of course I want to meet the perfect woman and get married too somedayâ€

Though, what made me more convinced about his sexuality was on April’s Fools Day last year when he “came out†professing his love for another man but then he simply shrugged it as a joke.

I remember lots of people being angry at him because who pranks about being gay? He could've been just joking but he was damn self-aware of the rumours about him. Maybe he did it on purpose in order to see what the people’s reaction would be – maybe he was testing waters. He explained it later it was just an April fool’s prank. The guy kissing his neck is his manager btw.

However, if he is not gay himself, he is very supportive. His song “Not Alone†(which is beautiful and you all should check it out) talks about the issues LGBTQ people face with discrimination (go watch the video really).
