Asking cause I've always noted their relative unpopularity with intI. fans compared to Koreans. Know some will disagree but that's the feeling I get at least. Other girl groups have trash songs that are hyped. I won't name any but it's popular and unpopular groups. G-Idles song is better in comparison.

I used to think Jungkook was straight too, I even argued with people on this very thread who thought he was gay/bi. But then I started to question myself, "why do I think he's straight?". He is one of the few members I have never seen showing any attraction to women, and yet I thought he was straight. Jungkook is not my bias, I have always paid more attention to V. And since I thought he had a "crush" on IU, I never questioned his sexuality. But a lot of things happened this year that made me start to think he might not be straight after all.

 

If you don't think the letter is about their sexuality, what do you think it could possibly be? I seriously can't think of any other reasons. Especially after watching the videos.

Coming back to the video, I guess it's really a matter of perspective. It's definitely a hyung-dongsaeng kind of letter. Maybe Suga doesn't share his feelings with JK and V often so he felt the need to reach out to them.

Not that they are dating, that he has no problem with their sexuality. I don't think that any members are dating each other.

 

It generally fascinates me how that video is seen as proof that JK is possibly into Jimin; not dismissive at all, I just don't personally see it/didn't know that was the interpretation until after I saw it for the following reasons: V is there as well, it's the three of them, and there's just as much V as Jimin. Watching it again, notice that when V and Jimin are in the same frame, who's center, who interacts with the camera more (Also, when it's framed on Jimin, that means V is probably walking next to JK.) And who it ends on?

 

Honestly I don't see a deeper meaning in it overall, just a young videographer trying out his skills and making a fun video with cool slow-mo. But V is equally if not more intimate with the viewer.

 

 

 

They are, but Jimin's that way with EVERYONE tho'.Hell, he's V's best friend. The Maknae are sorta bonded at the hip, but I think Jimin is Vkook's #1 fan judging by his reactions when they're cute together. There aren't the same sort of interactions between Jimin and either of his closest BTS friends that are like JK and Taehyung's once you take out the fanservice and general silly flirting he specializes in.

 

Can we talk about Suga's letter/text to V and Jungkook? They mentioned it twice already, but never talked about the context of the message, just that he said "I love you" at the end.

Suga said that the text had a "sad tone" and V said that it had almost 20 lines. He only sent it to V and Jungkook. Taehyung said that he cried while reading it aswell.

I can't imagine any other reason for him to sent a text message like this to only two members, apparently out of nowhere, with a sad tone while reassuring he loves them both that is not something related to said members' sexuality.

So you think it's a secret message reassuring two members that are secretly dating? Or related to sexuality? The letter could be about anything and most likely about Suga himself. What you're implying is a stretch to me. 

 

Heh I promised no more super long replies, and I'm sticking to it, because I ramble. But honestly V and JK are the only two I'd stake money on - the thing is, the narrative is mostly presented in the shipping community, so it's hard to present legitimately without sounding like a crackhead because the idea is now rejected out of hand. It's a... novel of moments. Touches and looks and serenades and hyungs separating them/sideeying them and disappearances and near kisses and supporting of shippers and sign language handshakes that literally mean "I love you forever, promise" and so many interview question answers and jealousy and how they sleep together (and tell us accidentally they have breakfast together) and BTS songs and secretly sitting in on each other's Vlives and matching hickies (after disappearances) and tabloid stories and bicep bitings and and and.

 

Only time will tell! I don't believe anything with 100%, I just have a tendency to sound like I do. (My doom.) Perhaps delulu, I'll take it if I am. But if my read is right they're effin' bursting with it, yet could be legit cray! (Still, I now feel better about expressing this even if I'm wrong because they clearly give no f*cks that they're perceived this way)

 

 

Jungkook clearly doesn't dislike women - by all reports he's very close to his mother, and when he's comfortable with people he's pretty physical, especially when younger. He also may be bi or pan. 

 

Compare those (old) videos to his epic skinship with V, the endless receipts, and the unique aspects of their relationship and there's a big difference. They might not be together (Although I believe they are - bring on the downvotes, call me a shipper, am convinced enough at this point I can take it) - but I don't believe either of them are straight just because he has been physically affectionate to women before.

 

 

If we talk about korean taste, it would be wonyoung, eunbi (know for being irene lookalike), hyewon and minju (typical korean beauty)

 

And visual members are the one who get the most solo photoshoot i think

 

The thing I find confusing about Korean beauty ideals is that every visual is supposed to have the same standard face and features. That's why I find Sakura's looks so refreshing. She's as pretty as the other girls you mention yet has unique looks.

They have a huge advantage in the digital arena, Melon seems like their best bet. 

Almost every other rookie group has been performing very badly in digitals. 

If it does happen esp GGs, Izone, Idle, Loona, Fromis share trophies, how will we react? Will you accept it wholeheartedly or a bit disappointed? Personally for me popularity wise Idle should win more but if they do share it (and in korea they love to make it equal esp if the rookies are quite similar in fandom power) I can accept it I guess, like Soba awards already opened up my eyes not too think about it too much

I guess it would be okay but I always got the sense that Idle is the strongest pick so I will be surprised if they get beat out. Fandom certainly isn't the most dedicated but they are generally the most known rookie group + their melon charting and music show wins should contribute. Anyway if they could win Melon at least, that would be great. Does anyone know if melon does voting?

The main opponents for the girls will be Izone and Stray Kidz imo. MAMA is already in Izones basket.

Idle is doing great but they arent big enough to have their die hard fans/fans that put them in number 1 priority list ... half of the idle stan is multifans that have their own #1's group.

I obvs don't expect them to be before established or big 3 groups, or to have a lot of diehard fans. But the fact that some much smaller groups that I didn't think had big fanbases are doing better....it's kinda perplexing.

 

 

fromis_9 has a solid fanbase and they have been gaining more recognition with each comeback. Especially with Gyuri returning from PD48, this comeback is definitely their biggest.(first time charted on melon& tripled their previous first day hanteo sales)

 

 

I wish Cube(or any of my other bias group's companies) promoted their girlgroups as well as OTR does for fromis_9 tbh. Long promotions with solid songs, constant vlives& youtube content with hard english subs+japanese subs. Like when will Cube ever.

This fandom really struggles with this type of stuff, smh. You are right. I-dle wins once we get them in. But if we can't even get them into the vote then that would be trajic.

Regardless of them not getting the most votes, it would be a crime if they didn't win ROTY. There is no other rookie that had the success they had and stands out more than them. Anyway it boggles my mind how the girls are so popular on YouTube and Instagram, but those (fake) fans disappear into thin air for stuff like this. 

I know most people here doesn't care about this and only see the ''good'' side of exclusive contract but most wotas are seeing it as them graduating from 48g and they are moving on to other girls like wotas always do tbh...

y'all don't see the bigger picture of how badly this is affecting HKT48 as a whole and not just 9 K-members in a Kpop group, If Sasshi graduates in the next 2.5 years what even is left in HKT with Haruppi also missing .... just pray for our girls to even have somewhere to comeback to in 2.5 years at this point tbh...oh and btw the guy who posted this is the admin of stage 48 and one of the oldest Sakura and HKT wotas, funny thing is he refunded his ticket too lmao tho he had a good reason I still find it funny 

 

Is it really necessary to bring this here? I get that you're concerned as a HKT fan but this is related to a different group, not Izone. Also many people seem to be upset by this but it's clear that AKBs management is not since they sent the prominent members to debut in Korea, knowing full well the situation it would cause for their groups back home.

The best thing you can do on stan tweet is use the block and mute buttons. I don't know why people don't do it unless they're looking for an opportunity to start shit.

 

There are different ROTY awards. (G)i-dle meets criteria for some of them better than others. So far their biggest competitors seem to be *oona and probably *zone. Ultimately, some groups will win and no amount of arguing back and forth on Twitter or wherever will change the outcomes. There's no point so why bother focusing on it. Also, the tweets I saw didn't have much reach. They're annoying (like mosquitoes or something), but that's it.

I feel like Idle will be winning most of the important awards like Melon, but probably not MAMA. These award shows are mostly based on Korean popularity, not international popularity. A translation from Pann today showed that Idle is the most well known rookie group, as expected. As for *oona and *zone being competition, I would dismiss the former as *zone will probably outsell their physicals easily. If *zone does super well, physically and digitally, then there might be a problem for Idle, but that's unlikely.
