You know what's the saddest realization that downed on me thanks to this negativity? ... That I knew it would happen. The moment I read the {apparently unconfirmed?} news for a split second I was happy for him, since we all know how much Jongin deserves something good after all the hardships in 2016, then I knew that a lead role -any role, as some of you pointed out, but a lead role even more so- would give people who apparently have way too much time on their hands and are uncapable/unwilling to make good use of their Internet connection a way to release their negativity on him. I used to wonder why some idols receive such feedback having done nothing wrong at all in their careers, but I'm really starting to think that a certain type of people thrives on "hate" and bashing in general, regardless of who the target is, just going with whatever is making headlines at any given time. Some of you girls seem to think that exo-ls in particular have taken part in this- may I ask what made you come to this conclusion? {I mostly follow Kpop here on OH and Omona, so I'm blissfully unaware of Twitter wars etc.} I also decided to rewatch Choco Bank and the Lotte kisses, attempting to be as unbiased as possible, and I can definitely say that I've seen better acting in Kdramas, but I've seen worse too; I think that the scripts {Lotte one especially, which was to be expected, considering it was an extended ad} did not help him either. He has yet to receive a very deep, complex and layered role, which indeed at this point may be too demanding for him; I hope that he may suprise us all with it in the future. In the meantime, I think it's great that he's aware of the fact he still has a lot to learn and has been taking classes in order to hone his skills. Let's hope for a bright 2017 for us all!

Unlurking just to post this beautiful two angles fancam by Mr Destiny. Imho he does look a bit unsure of his position a couple of times and he's definitely still being somewhat careful because of his ankle {as he should be}, but one can tell he was really into this, which is what I enjoyed the most. And the outfit. I feel like this is the most skin he's shown in quite a while...{please someone correct me if I'm wrong}. I'm not sold on the hairstyle, but I'll take what I can get.

The trailer for Hakyeon and Hongbin's webdrama is out! What do you guys think about it? The punching scene looks quite realistic for a webdrama, imho- this could be quite good. <3 Also, thank you everyone for consistently posting such beautiful pictures of N- he looks really striking with the lacey blindfold on {and I suspect camera men agree, because they often tend to zoom in on him in the very beginning of their performances.}

A bunch of adorable five year old kids in adult bodies. And Hakyeon is the proud leader of them all! Doesn't he look especially good in white? It contrasts with his darker features so well and brings them out. Do we know anything about his drama with Hongbin? When is it going to air?

Everyone, thanks for welcoming me back! It's nice knowing that there's a warm and cosy thread you can come back to after being away for a while. <3 Do we have any fancams of him dancing to Lotto? Or has he not done that yet? I've attempted to search, but came out of it empty handed. I'm glad he's been doing so many photoshoots- model Kai is always a treat. Honestly I feel as though he looks his best either in professional modeling pictures or fan taken ones at the airport- I think the make up that MUAs insist on caking up on him on stage {and some official events} prevents his natural beauty from shining through. It could also be that they don't really know how to correctly emphasize his beautiful honey skin tone too... That was my first thought- I suspect all Kai fans had the same initial reaction, "anything is better than nothing!", we're THAT starved for some Kai solo projects. {I low-key envy fans of idols who have more individual promotion, tbh...} Hopefully it's going to be on the fun and lighthearted side of things! ..hello? It's been a while since I last posted anything here, I sort of failed, I attempted to look back but I had to give up after a while, so can anyone please tell me if I missed anything much? Latest news that I know of and random thoughts about them: -I may be the only one who actually likes this grey/blonde hair colour on him. I think it does require a more careful styling than his usual dark brown/black, which looks effortlessly good on him, though- pairing it up with turtlenecks and jackets {why is this look a thing again? Either go for the cozy fluffly turtlenecks -especially in light colours- that he wears so well or for formal shirts and jackets} makes him look a bit too...grandpa-ish, imho. -The web drama. I just read about it and I'm so glad Jongin is finally having some schedule outside of Exo again, but, truth be told, I don't know what to think about this project. It may be just the source {Omona}, but the plot so far seems to veer dangerously into cheesy territory. I get it's for Lotte, so the main point is to advertise them, and I'm glad Kai was picked {people haven't gotten many chances to see him after he had to skip Lotto promotions and, after everything that happened this year, I think it's good for him to get out there and just DO things}, hopefully he's well compensated, but I can't deny part of me wishes to see him take part in more interesting projects. Then again, the script may actually be better than what I expect. Anything else?

Hello, friendly lurker here. Been there, done that too. He goes so hard on the very first part of the choreography of the chorus too, making a little 'growl' face that lasts just a split second- it's the little things that show how he puts his all in every performance that make him so endearing to me. Don't stop attempting to kill us all, Cha Hakyeon ...I feel you. I've been staring at that sig for longer than I care to admit.

I just saw the pictures. My expectations for this comeback have just been raised. My thoughts about the teasers, in random order: Possibly the best Hyuk picture I've ever seen so far. I don't agree with whatever happened to Ravi's hair, but maybe it was necessary after the damage from hair dyes. As long as he liked it, it's alright. Why is Ken's blindfold placed much lower on his face? But most of all... On a somewhat unrelated note, yesterday I tried -and failed- at drawing a lace mask around my eyes, just to check whether I was able to pull it off for Halloween {I'm not}. I'm just going to blindfold myself with lace too and all we be well. Thank you Vixx for saving the day once more.

Dropping by because this needs to be highlighted- I was actually really surprised by his physique {I own a sweater which looks extremely similar to his and it DOES highlight all your muscles/curves}. That may or may not be the reason why I vastly prefer the Prisms outfits over the 1 of 1 suits.

Hello everyone. I went back into lurking mode for a while here, mostly 'cause it's been a few days and I have yet to manage to see the Star Show episodes. {When I do, I'll make sure to post my opinions about it though} In the meantime, I did watch their perfomances on it, and this really bothered me: It's so clear Lay is in pain and awful shape throughout the performance, it was, even as a non-stan, quite heartbreaking to watch. It definitely made me glad that Jongin was granted time off to heal- it's better to let him rest for a few weeks than to witness something like this.

You live 45 mins from Paris! I envy you already! You definitely need to be hugged though, I would be even sadder if they were only 45 mins from home and I couldn't go...In my case, they're more like seven-ish hours away, so I can sort of accept it. Considering how much going to the concert in Milan would have cost me in terms of getting there, hotel, concert ticket {...is it me or they're crazy expensive? I've been to several big rock concerts but none of them came even close in terms of prices. I get they have to move from Seoul and all though} and food, visiting Seoul and actually seeing them there almost seems more reasonable. At least we'd actually SEE another country, right?

Ah, I did not remember he was asked to draw the other members! Your explanation is quite an interesting take on why he didn't actually do that either. Kyungsoo is my second bias but I have no intention to shield him if he really did make a mistake. I don't shield even the people I love in real life, my biases are no exception to this rule- besides, the idea that an idol can do no wrong in a real fan's eyes needs to die. It is for this very reason that being someone's 'fangirl' has such a stigma attached to it- because everybody is automatically going to assume you are brainwashed and blind to reality. In Kai's case, if it was about colourism, I would definitely be disappointed in him, possibly even more so because he should know better than to inflict on someone else the pain he's had to endure; on the other hand, I would also consider the possibility that his behaviour could be due to internalized colourism, pointing out in others the "fault" he's been blamed for all his life- which would definitely not justify him or rectify his actions, but would give me a possible reason as to why he could be doing it. You're welcome! I'm happy to see you're using it in your sig. He was protective of the fans'...well being. Yes, you see, too much chocolate can actually be detrimental to one's health! I agree with your first paragraph, L. Honestly, whilst it's definitely my personality that makes it imperative for me to have the whole picture before speaking, part of it is that I feel that our behaviour as fans reflects on our favourites. It may be weird, but, as someone who appreciates Jongin's talent and passion, I want to be a person he could be proud of, and not someone who mindlessly acts first and thinks later, regardless of the consequences. -coughs- Sexy backs may or may not be the reason I'm into Tom Hardy too. I agree, I miss Tao the most out of the ex-members. I personally think that, whilst not conventionally attractive, he had, as you said, striking features and a lot of charisma on stage; I also found it endearing how different and somewhat...vulnerable? he seemed off stage, it somehow struck a protective chord in me. His alleged love for designer bags made me appreciate him even more! I think I need to know more about the Ferrero Rocher thing. Are there pics of Kai actually indulging in them? I always hear about this but I feel as though I'm missing something- all the boys seemed fairly hyper that night? Also why was he so attractive? Mysteries. Could it be this one?

I stand by what I stated before: still waiting for the episode to air, supposedly on September the 19th. Even then though we'll have to wait for subs, so it will probably be a while still... Whatever the context may be, I'm sure I'm tired of drama. People are already jumping at each other's throats and it's just no fun to witness that while lacking any real information about exactly what happened, what was said and the reactions of those involved. I'm glad that we're being mature here, of course, but it still bothers me. On a lighter note...are we talking strictly Kai-induced weaknesses or in general? I personally find wide shoulders and backs sexy.

Agreed entirely. It's just weird to me too...It's similar to the unrealistic expectations some {definitely not all} guys seem to have about women- that we wake up with perfectly styled hair which is untangled and flaw free, unblemished airbrushed skin, perfectly curly dark eyelashes and full brows. I wish- don't we all?-, but sorry, nope. Work goes into how we appear and put ourselves together, just like for these idols {in their case, not just make up and hairstyles, but you get what I mean}, yet some people like to pretend that we're not only born this way, but also look this way 24/7. This ties in with the obsession of the whole "which idol looks better without makeup?" trend too. I like summer clothes better- mostly 'cause you get away with showing a bit more cleavage -still tastefully of course-, but I have a real weakness for coats and trenchcoats. I've been wanting to own a Burberry one forever, but the price is insane so... Misery loves company? I look like a nerd with turtlenecks too! If it helps any, I usually find cowl necks to be a bit more forgiving, since you can drape them more casually. Indeed. He should have more cfs. Sounds like the start of a good fanfiction scenario! So I'm guessing you may be French? Or am I failing again? Generally speaking, I don't get the whole denial of PS as if it's something awful. I don't think Jongin got much done tbh,but this whole craze about attempting to prove which idol is natural and which is not...Does it matter? As long as the artists are at least somewhat comfortable with it and it's tastefully done it's fine by me. Of course, one could argue that idols should not feel pressured to have anything done, which is indeed true, but the entertainment industry of a look-centric society such as Korea is by nature the pinnacle of such pressure. Unfair, of course, but I fear that, at least for the time being, it's going to come with the territory- the least the general public could do is not "PS-shaming" those same idols they have criticised for their looks. I'm not saying that's what you meant, of course, I'm just talking in general and going on a tangent here, as per usual... Coats + Kai= wiin. Trench coats too! I love Pathcode for that reason... Now that you mention it, I remember hearing about it as well...But why would they cut it in the first place? Maybe it has to do with views and people clicking out of the video before it's over if the song is, thus leading to less views? I think I heard something similar about Seohyun- didn't know this is how it went for him too. ...Really? I tried watching Exo next door once and failed {I didn't last more than 10 minutes} so I can't say anything about the other members' skills, but I thought he was definitely the more well known actor among them. I guess that, if the rumours are indeed true, it could be because SM wants to build some members' popularity more for their own purposes. Maybe that could be because now Exo seems to have a more even line distribution -members that used to get a few words now get a couple of lines- so DO could have suffered the consequences, but I honestly feel like the lack of spotlight may be due to him having less high notes than Chen and Baek though- which are, usually, considered the highlights of a song. You're right about the collabs- I think he is more versatile than the way SM is currently marketing him. See my comment about END above. =D I have to agree with the quality going down- especially if we're talking Lotto. I said it before here, but I have no clue why SM would market that as a title track - tone down the autotune and it could be a decent b-side-; there really is just no 'iconic' part in that song whatsoever imho. For this reason I see where you're coming there, but I don't really see it in LMR- I think he had the long high note there which was fitting for a main vocal -as well as my personal favourite bit of the song- and I think he definitely added his personal flavour to the song. It is indeed true that Exo K was basically Baek+Kyungsoo feat Suho and Chan rapping, so overall, again, I see where you're coming from. I think the biggest change there was maybe adding Chen into the mix- he basically carried Exo M musically and they had to find a way to give him enough space in Exo when they started promoting as a whole. {Honestly, I often wonder how the boys really felt about not being divided in two subunits anymore. Were they relieved? Did they feel cheated 'cause they had even more people to share screentime and lines with? I digress.} TMWIL video was indeed weird- I just don't get why they needed to cut the song short for something that looked quite low budget and wannabe artsy tbh. I think that also affects its views- people that actually wanna listen to it don't go to the official video because it does not feature the entire song so... I agree about variety too. I don't see why the extremely hyper and somewhat extra members of groups are the ones who are deemed 'variety type'- not everyone finds them funny or endearing, at least not always and not on their own. For instance, they could send one typical hyper member and Kyungsoo to balance each other out- the difference in reactions could be funny as well. I personally feel that, whilst Ex'act wasn't as solid as a whole as Exodus, we dodged a bullet with the titletracks, considering the company's record. Then came Lotto...Since the style of their releases has been quite similar, they may very well not have been made for Exo at all. I see where you're coming from too- whilst I love actor Kyungsoo, I too hope to see more of his singing in the future. I guess we just have to wait and hope that this career direction is what he wishes for!

Hello everyone, first post in this thread. I've always liked Kyungsoo -he's the first one I noticed in Exo and still my favourite singer-, and I lowkey follow his acting career {Hello monster, which was great, Cart, Pure love}. When I saw he wasn't in the Sketchers cf I started wondering why and thus landed here- I've read a few of the last pages and get your disappointment over his absence lately {the cooking show thing for instance, though I agree that having someone who really knows how to cook would be less entertaining for the general public than the way a newbie chef would mess up}, but I'm interested in understanding why most users here seem to think he's been neglected for a long time. I always had the feeling that the general public received his acting projects very well and took him seriously as an actor -not a given for an idol- and that for this reason he got a lot of offers and interesting projects {if he picks them himself he's doing a great job imho}, plus he's known for his honey caramel voice, thus I never felt like he was underappreciated. It IS true that I don't do social media much and only started hanging out on OH a couple weeks ago, so there are very likely things I missed- anyone want to fill me in on that? If you just wish to talk about more lighthearted topics I get it though.
