  1. The only respectful comment here. I'm praying for them as well. It wasn't a powerful moment, and it was scripted. It's the second time he's pulled that, and Trump reversed it quickly. Trump wouldn't celebrate someone's infection, and as we can see here, and on Twitter, that's exactly what the LEFT is doing. Trump didn't celebrate when RBG or John Lewis died. It was nice Biden tweeted positive thoughts and prayers, but it came a bit late if you ask me. But at least he did it, so I do respect that.
  2. Trump inherited an economy that was growing at one of the slowest rates in modern history. Obama inherited an economy that had basically nowhere to go but up, and that's the direction it went, but incredibly slowly. After eight years under Obama and Biden, the number of Americans living in poverty increased by 787,000. The number of Americans living in poverty in Trump's first three years DECREASED by 6.6 MILLION people. This is an incredible difference. The labor force participation rate slipped by nearly 3% to 62.9% (artificially boosting employment rates). Prior to the pandemic, Trump managed to increase the labor force participation rate to 63.4% while continuing to lower the unemployment rate, putting a near record number of Americans back to work. The poverty rate under Obama fell a half point to 12.7%, and it fell to 10.5% in three years under Trump. During Trump's first term, median household income rose by more than in the entire eight years under Obama. Manufacturing jobs came back to the country at a rate of over 300%--even though Obama said one would need a magic wand to do this, and in spite of Trump's tariffs. The stock market started an incredible boom the night Trump was elected, and even with COVID wiping out all of those gains, it's already come back, so that can no longer be connected to Obama in any way. The economy isn't floundering because of his poor response, and no matter how many times you repeat that it was poor and bring up the case count and death count out of context does it become so. Basic reasoning goes a long way, so please try to use some of it. The economy was artificially shut down by the government and is rebounding quickly in areas where the government is getting out of the way. It's the government that is stopping the economy, and this is largely Democrat governments now that are keeping citizens on lockdown and out of work. The governor of PA was just caught on a hot mic saying that he had to wear his mask for "political theater." It's the reason why people like Nancy Pelosi are caught without masks at nail salons while saying that others shouldn't even be going out in public. They don't really believe what they believe. They just want to keep it locked down to reduce the employment numbers. Again, even in spite of Trump's trade war, he has brought manufacturing jobs back to the US at a bigger rate than Obama. It's a matter of record. The tweet from Trump there shows nothing. You're conflating the virus being deadly with the US having a problem with the virus. They aren't one and the same. Ebola is a very deadly virus, but if we only have a handful of cases in the country, it's fair to say that it's not a serious public health threat on a massive scale. With only 546 cases known at the time in a country of over 300 million, that's not a massive deal. You're not proving the point you think you are. ^ - Yale epidemiologist on the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine. Him not wearing a mask in public is a non-issue. Having universities open to students can be done safely and effectively. The goal of the federal government was to FLATTEN the curve, not keep everyone home forever until it disappeared. Individual states are responsible for the handling in their states. We are a federalist country. That's a state issue. You're either being willfully dishonest or really need to brush up on your comprehension if you don't realize that what Trump is saying is that if we tested less people, we would have fewer reported cases. That's a fact. We couldn't record a person as having COVID-19 if we didn't test and report the results. Wallace asked Trump if he were willing to condemn a white supremacy GROUP and tell them to back down, and that's what he did. But that's not even the point, and Trump knew it. The anarchy we're seeing throughout the country (as far as a Democrat not taking the national guard, check Seattle and Portland. Ted Wheeler even sent a letter criticizing Trump's request to send in the guard) is being largely committed by those on the left, and the whole question was a distraction because Trump has condemned white supremacy in absolute terms before, but Biden has yet to condemn Antifa. Delusional is what you are, lol We don’t know how many deaths they have because they are likely being underreported, seeing as how they aren’t testing as much as we are (and that’s assuming that we could take their reporting at face value in the first place). As explained, there are several different reasons why morbidity might be higher. Americans being overweight with heart problems and diabetes being a major driver behind more deaths. Trump did take action in February and had already closed the country to China in January. He didn’t cause a panic by telling everyone they were going to die, and if Trump had come out and said that, it would have reduced the availability of necessary supplies and driven up the cost and scarcity of the resources we’d need to protect the country. At the same time, as noted, the task force was always upfront that the lowest death count would be 160k people and could potentially cost up to 3.5 million people. In what world is this telling people it’s not a dangerous virus? It’s just incredibly dense that if you think the WHO downplayed the pandemic that we could trust them in a collaborative effort to stop the virus.
  3. You want to talk about things being counterable, but you’re not doing a good job. There are several confounding variables as to why we have a high case load, and part of that is because we test more than anyone else. If you don’t test, you can’t identify cases. Americans generally have higher rates of co-morbidities as well, which can increase morbidity. We also had people like Andrew Cuomo in New York killing patients in nursing homes by putting COVID patients in there. The reality is that individual states are responsible for their caseloads. The federal government was charged with providing equipment such as ventilators to meet the demands of the state in order to flatten the curve—and not a single request by the states was unable to be met or was denied. The request for ventilators wasn’t lagging—Cuomo way overestimated the number of ventilators that would be needed in New York. Actually, at the beginning of the pandemic, both Cuomo and Newsome came out and praised Trump for his handling of COVID, until Trump’s approval rating hit an all-time high and it became a political issue for the Democrats. They even launched a war against hydroxychloroquine despite epidemiologists and other scientists coming out (and studies, as well) showing that the drug was effective for certain at-risk populations and patients. Moving into this, Dr. Birx clearly said that the best-case scenario would be 160K deaths—and that would be for a perfect job. Obviously, we haven’t been perfect, but we are relatively close to that, especially considering the ceiling was 2.5 million deaths (or more). Dr. Fauci is on record stating that if Trump hadn’t restricted travel (as Biden would not have), we would have thousands of more dead. This isn’t to compare us to Korea or anywhere else where they would actually dox their citizens but to what we were able to do, which has always been between 160k and three million deaths. Yes, it’s impressive that Trump modernized our testing system. We are testing more, by far, than any country in the world with the best tests available. When I say he modernized the testing system, I’m not saying that the federal government was responsible for the improvement in technology (at least not directly). I’m saying that Trump cutting red tape helped with the distribution and logistics of the tests so that they were more accessible in a quicker amount of time. He’s also bought massive amounts of therapeutics and is already mass producing the potential vaccine so that they can be distributed very quickly. Rising case numbers can be attributed to a variety of factors, largely at the state level. Just because the cases are increasing, it doesn’t mean they are increasing with at-risk populations or that the death toll is increasing everywhere (morbidity is down over 80% since April). You want to talk about politics? How about Biden, Harris, and the Democrats telling everyone that this life-saving vaccine is not safe? Talk about right-wing conspiracy theories. This is dangerous. No one ever said that Trump being a dictator is more important than lives. That’s just terrible comprehension on your part. The point is that you would have criticized his response either way. You’re trying to have your cake and eat it too by criticizing the response and the alternative. Except other world leaders haven’t done the testing that Trump has done. They haven’t done the vaccine. They haven’t done the therapeutics. What you quoted from Trump literally says that their narrative of his treatment of the virus is their new hoax. Please learn to read.
  4. None of these countries are even close to the scale of testing that we have in absolute numbers. If we were working with their populations, we would have tested far more per capita. Testing was botched in the beginning by the CDC under the old systems used by prior administrations. It was Trump's administration that modernized it to be the largest in the world. The WHO and China both downplayed the severity of the virus. There's no need for the US to be in the WHO, nor did our removal from the WHO affect our case rates.
  5. He did develop a plan where federal resources were given to states so they had adequate ventilators. He invoked the DPA. He developed a public private partnership to modernize testing. He deregulated for therapeutics and a vaccine. He put together a task force so that America's leading experts could inform viewers directly. We developed rapid tests, and 100 million of the will soon be shipped to states. He restricted travel from infected areas. States handle the health and wellness of their citizens. If Trump had taken over with the federal government, he would have been called a dictator. Trump wasn't in situations where masks were necessary and the briefings encouraged them. Hydroxychloroquine has been found useful for some COVID patients. He said the way Democrats were talking about his handling of the virus was a hoax, not the virus. He passed bipartisan relief measures to help people and businesses. It does matter because massive protests and riots have been going on without social distancing, so if you aren't ready to condemn those, don't complain about case rates.
  6. Individual states bear much of the responsibility for their case and death rates. Did you care about COVID spread during the "peaceful protests"?
  7. A bad economy costs lives, fuels poverty, and destroys families. I do care about human rights, but I don't think human rights are under significant threat under Trump's administration.
  8. All of that is great and impressive. What's not impressive about creating peace deals in the Middle East and getting our military out? What's not impressive about our vaccine developments/therapeutics? What's not impressive about having near-record employment levels for nearly all demographics with median household income on the rise faster than the last two administrations? These are great. Every President has failures, but I would say Trump's administration has done a lot of good for America, and another four years will lead to another boom in this country. There's no basis that we'll be back in the 60s. Obama wasn't a very constitutional president, either, honestly. I would say Bush wasn't either. Not to excuse Trump, but it's not unique to him.
  9. Why offer support to someone at all if he's going against your core values? Before COVID hit, we had one of the best economies we've ever had--at least in recent memory. Manufacturing jobs were coming back, minority unemployment was at record lows, median household incomes grew more in 2019 than the entire Obama/Biden tenure (and that's with them coming from literally rock bottom up), the military has been rebuilt, we're getting peace in the Middle East (instead of deploying more troops like in the Obama/Biden administration), we've got stronger ties with North Korea, giving us more control in East Asia, we're rewriting trade deals, we've got favored nations status to significantly lower drug costs, we're going to have price transparency starting in January (which introduces competition into the market to significantly lower prices), etc. On the contrary, Democrat cities across the country are experiencing massive unrest, violence, and murder, with many of them actively refusing to call in the national guard, and others refusing until its too late. The reality is that Trump hasn't had a reign of chaos. 2020 has been terrible, for sure, but not just for the US, and there's no indication that Biden would have done a better job. In fact, it is true that Biden was far slower to call for restricted travel from infected areas. The Trump administration worked to create the most sophisticated testing program in history, rebuilt the stockpiles depleted and not replaced by the Obama/Biden administration, and deregulated so that therapeutics and vaccines could be developed quickly, helping drastically reduce excess mortality rates. The federal government coordinated a response where everyone who needed a ventilator got one and provided for emergency increased hospital space. Now we're experiencing an economic recovery much faster than anyone expected (and would experience it even more if lockdowns were eased in some areas). The stock market is already back in the record-high area (which means that he's brought it into record territory twice). Much of the chaos has been manufactured.
  10. Coming from the one refusing to engage in discussions outside their echo chamber and saying Hitler was a fascist (when Hitler's Germany/Nazism are literally like fifth-grade history).
  11. Fascism was Mussolini, by the way. Hitler was Nazism.
  12. He did, but just in case you don't like how he worded it, here's him telling these groups, again, to stand down. He's mentioning Proud Boys specifically because that's who Biden referenced. You're the one who can never reply because you'd rather make snide comments than expose you don't actually know anything. By the way, I thought the left was anti-racist. If that's the case, why did I get downvoted for saying that it's not okay for a white guy like Biden to say racist things like this. The truth is, some of y'all just want to talk, but when it comes to choosing sides or choosing values, those values go straight out the window. Just one of you supporting the left this election, please answer these questions:
  13. It was absolutely the case, with Nazism, fascism, and communism having similar ideals, and goals, but communism focusing on class, Nazism on race, and fascism on national identity.
  14. Lol, weak response. Absolutely pathetic. Trump condemned white supremacy. Just deal with it. I'm not desperately taking Biden's quotes out of context at all, but this is a fun one. Please explain to everyone when it's okay for a white man to say the N-word twice? Please explain to everyone the appropriate context for a white man to judge whether or not someone is black. Please let us know when it's okay for a white man to say that the black community isn't as diverse in thought as the Latino community. Please let us know when it's okay for a white Presidential candidate to say that you can't go to a 7-11 without a slight Indian accent.
  15. We've already had this discussion. Fascism was always understood to be a left-wing movement, especially during its day, but a left-wing movement that was not quite as far left as Soviet communism.
  16. It is, and Trump's already condemned white supremacy: Trump, Aug. 14, 2017: As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place in America. And as I have said many times before: No matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans. Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans. We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America. -- The reality is that Trump is working on criminal justice reform that helps the African-American community (undoing the damage caused by Biden) and oversaw the lowest levels of African-American unemployment in history. Biden, on the other hand, literally said that if you don't vote for him, "you ain't black." He even said the N-word: Biden also said that the black community isn't as diverse in thought as the Latino community, but yeah. How about admit that your party nominated an out-and-proud racist? And not just against the black community. Remember the comment about not being able to go to a 7-11 if you didn't have a "slight Indian accent"? Get real.
  17. Antifa members have been around for years disrupting speeches by conservative speakers on college campuses and are now causing violence in these cities. A guy claiming to be an Antifa supporter killed a Trump supporter earlier this month. Antifa is real, and they're hurting people and burning cities. Fascism is not a right-wing movement, and the tactics that Antifa members (and people on the left who claim to be anti-fascist more generally) use ARE fascistic--yelling over speakers on campuses, killing/hurting those with opposing viewpoints, organizing riots, cancel culture, etc.
  18. Saying that you're willing to condemn something is expressing a sentiment of condemnation.
  19. Talk about viral moments: "There's nothing smart about you, Joe." "China ate your lunch, Joe ... The mayor of Moscow's wife gave your son 3.5 million dollars." "Name one [law enforcement] group that came out and endorsed you." Biden: "................." "Your son got thrown out of the military for cocaine use." "You called African-Americans super predators, and they've never forgotten it." Interesting there were no questions about the Nobel Peace Prize nominations and foreign policy in the Middle East.
  20. He did condemn white supremacy. They asked him twice if he were willing to, and he said yes.
  21. Quit being dense. You don't have $8k in phone bill money, and the point is that there is reason to believe that Breonna Taylor had involvement in the drug operation. That's abundantly clear from the transcripts. That's not cherry-picking. It's backing up the claim. Your point does not change that there is reason to believe she may have been involved or the fact that a warrant for the property had basis, regardless if they found anything there or not. The lapse in due process and the ambulance have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not this shooting had racial undertones. It did not.
  22. 1307 - J. Glover calls REDACTED (Kiera Bradley - child's mother) from his dormitory: K. Bradley says to J. Glover, "So where your money at?" J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "Where my money at? Bre had like $8 grand." K. Bradley says to J. Glover, "Bre had $8 grand of your money?" J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "Yeah." J. Glover says to an unknown mail that joined the call, "Tell cuz, Bre got down like $15 (grand), she had the $8 (grand) I gave her the other day, and she picked up another $6 (grand)." K. Bradley and J. Glover are arguing over him not being honest and him having money at other people's house. J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "Why are you doing this?" K. Bradley says to J. Glover, "Cuz my feelings are hurt." J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "Why cuz the bread (money) was at her house?" J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "...This is what you got to understand, don't take it wrong, but Bre been handling all my money, she been handling my money... She been handling shit for me and cuz, it ain't just me." K. Bradley says to J. Glover, "But I mean she should at least tell you where your money is Chop." J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "I can't talk to you on this phone, but I will tell you exactly the reason why." K. Bradley says to J. Glover, "She should tell you where your money is. When you got money at the house, I tell you exactly where it is." J. Glover says to K. Bradley, "It's no problem. I can walk in that house (Bre's) and go directly to whatever it is no problem with it." --> Long story short, not just money for a phone bill. --- Breonna Taylor wasn't killed because they presumed her guilty instead of innocent because of her race or because she was presumed guilty instead of innocent at all. She was killed in the crossfire after her boyfriend shot at police and they returned fire.
  23. Didn't miss it, and it's pretty easy to read the jail phone calls and see what the context was. It's not like they were speaking in riddles. If you haven't read it yet, I'd encourage you to do so. Nothing you listed as being a goal of BLM there relates to the Breonna Taylor case because the Breonna Taylor case had nothing to do with race. There goes point one. This wasn't police brutality, the over-policing of minority neighborhoods (which isn't a thing), or an abuse committed by a for-profit jail. This isn't anything that a social worker would have been suited to do. But let's be clear for a second. This is connected to BLM and national riots at the moment because it's being used as another example of "white police gunning down innocent black people." Breonna has become a martyr for the movement. When in reality, this had nothing to do with her race and everything to do with the fact that police were shot at and returned fire. She shouldn't have died, but her death doesn't fit the narrative that's being constructed.
  24. The leaked memo does more than just mention that she had money stored at her house. Jail phone calls show that Glover said Breonna managed the money for him, and surveillance footage of them together in her car reportedly making drug runs are also included. None of that is to say that she deserved to die, but I don't think she can be reasonably divorced from the drug trafficking operation.
  25. But this isn't a case of a black person being killed by the police for being black. This literally had nothing to do with race.
