  1. Oh I love the teaser! Kyu has the pinkest, nicest lips ⤠also, my baby Dongwoo boxing and looking serious... :D
  2. Thank you! And yes, I have actually watched the video again tonight and I realise he's in so little of it! But it's ok, I clearly made the most of every second. OMG yes. I have so looked forward to this! Last week when they said he was going to be in the second episode I couldn't believe it. I mean, he had the most seconds in all the promos! (not that I counted) (I totally did). Nah, don't let it get to you! Support of a band is really not just about the albums you buy :D
  3. Thank you! <3 I remember seeing Infinite for the first time and thinking 'the leader is very good but a bit plain". HAHA poor past me, you knew nothing. :P I can get behind screaming and crying over him :p
  4. It sucks when that happens. I got Be back from someone on ebay and the packaging was so light it had torn in the mail. I was lucky and the actual cd cover was ok, but boy was I angry!
  5. I absolutely get you for the posters, I am lucky in that my flat is a bit old so the landlord doesn't mind a couple of chips on the wall. When I was in university they were a lot stricter. Absolute sympathy on the funds - I had to wait to get For You for the same reason. Shipping from Japan is so expensive... Thank you! <3
  6. Ok, so this is embarrassing because I have a few :p In my defense, they were almost all second hand stuff I purchased over a year on ebay looking for deals. And when I got my Christmas and birthday money I was like, eh, nothing else I want or need :P I have For You, Evolution, Infinitize, Reality, Destiny, Dilemma, Paradise, 27, Another Me, Fly High, Fly Again, Be Back and the other week I ordered Best of Infinite. It was funny because I was in vacation with my family and my mother had asked me if I wanted to take a day trip with them on the agreement that I paid with my own money. I was considering it when I saw the announcement on Instagram and I just very seriously announced "Apologies, mother, I have better use for these funds." She was not amused :p When I bought Reality the vendor kindly sent me for free a poster of that really beautiful black and white picture of them on the cover and I actually persuaded my boyfriend to let me hang it in the house. And by persuaded I mean that I said "Let me do that, and you can actually put up that Pan's Labyrinth poster that freaks me out." Compromise, eh? :P
  7. Hehe! Me neither. Hopefully this one will be easier to get than the others. :p I got Walk through me from a library sale in Brooklyn and Let it rain from a small bookshop in France... my Nell collection bears the mark of many hours spent searching on the internet. Being able to actually just order Newton's Apple off Amazon was SO refreshing. This new one I could even pre-order :D Good music is like a virus, once it gets you it spreads :p
  8. Thank you everyone for the lovely welcome! Haha absolutely! So nice they are having a comeback so soon. :D
  9. Hey everyone! So glad to find a thread for Nell on here. It's actually one of my favourite bands, of the ones I have been recommending the most... I came to them through Infinite, because I listened to Kim Sung-kyu covering Time Walking Through Memories and learnt that Kim Jong-wan had written Shine, a song I really loved. Spotify in Europe has Newton's Apple and halfway through listening to it I decided I was going to hunt down all of their discography. Favourite album is probably Slip Away: Hopeless Valentine is one of my favourite songs that I have ever heard, when I first listened to it I just could not have enough of it. I got stuck in a loop for two days, it was all I listened to. Grey Zone, however, I introduce to everyone as 'A love song that will break your heart in nineteen words". I think Nell have the kind of smart, laser-focused, understated yet deeply felt emotion that can disrupt you for days. Their songs are never banal and the way they cover truly uncommon, sometimes uncomfortable topics leaves me speechless (see Dear Genovese). I think they're amazing and I get so mad when my friends who are into indie rock and would therefore love them won't listen to them just because they're Korean (no, my dear friends, not all Korean music is K-pop. Doh). Anyway, looking forward to sharing their future albums with you guys! :D x
  10. OMG, yes. So much yes. Alive is a fantastic, fantastic song and I wish he sang it live a lot more... I really really love Sungkyu live. I feel like one of his strongest points as an artist is the way he can express emotion and I feel like in studio he always strives more for a clean sound that is beautiful but detracts from that. Studio Kontrol is beautiful but my favourite version of it is how he sang it in Shanghai... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67-FhUWLvG4 Same with Shine. I remember listening to it on Another Me and thinking that all the synth didn't suit it. I mean, Kim Jong-wan of Nell wrote it, it's supposed to be indie rock. I kept thinking 'this begs for a simpler and more unplugged version'. AND THEN: I have a friend who is a professional musician (conservatory-trained and all that) and when I made him listen to this he turned to me and said "I hope you realise this guy is literally giving his voice synth effects ON HIS OWN. THAT IS REALLY RARE." *beat* "And now I find him really handsome too." :P Kim Sungkyu is kinda like a fever that sneaks on you, you think it's nothing and before you know it, POOF, you're totally taken over by it. :P
  11. Thank you! I had to get here immediately... I really love Sungkyu's voice (and his silly lovely cute hamster face, but I'll pretend it's mostly the voice :P). I made the mistake of first listening to 27 in a public place... I was in my university's study room and I popped it on Spotify and halfway through Daydream I just started crying. That never happens to me with music. His voice just does things to me Leader-nim has wisdom. Listen to leader-nim. :P
  12. That was the first thing I thought too. His enunciation is so much clearer. I feel like it really shows off his voice more, because his singing always has that kind of clear, brittle clarity that gets lost with a slurred pronunciation.
  13. Hello Inspirits! I thought I would say hi before I started replying to this thread since this is where I am probably going to spend most of my time on the forums... :P I have been an Inspirit a year and I have no plans to change anytime soon... I knew absolutely nothing about k-pop (save for Gangnam Style because anybody who didn't live under a rock in 2012 knew that one :P) when one day from an unrelated YouTube search came up a really old top 10 video of kpop songs from 2013. Last Romeo was one of them and from the preview I thought "well I really like these guys' coats, I'll go check it out. Also, Shakespeare." (of all the reasons to get into kpop coats and Shakespeare might be the most random :P). I went to look at the video and within the first ten seconds I had fallen hopelessly in love with Dongwoo, because when he had that hair you couldn't but do that. I fell into a Youtube hole a couple of hours long and at the end of it I was absolutely smitten. I haven't looked back since! I have gotten into other kpop groups but Infinite remain my deepest love. Narrowing down my bias in the group would be really, REALLY hard: Dongwoo remains my first love but Sungkyu has slowly grown on me and if you asked me "who's your ultimate?" I'd have to take a raincheck and go meditate on a mountain to figure that one out. :P Also, Hoya can take his shirt off around me anytime he fancies. ;) Looking forward to a long time chatting away with you guys! xx HK
