Youtube wasn’t a big thing in the second gen and no one cared—
-
Hold on, i’m trying to pretend the internet and social media wasn’t that big 10 years ago... Wait..

So regardless, what that’s telling me is that BTS DID take that chance and they were the only ones successful with it like I said. Ignoring the excuse of SNS, youtube, streaming, BTS western advance was the most successful and that’s it.
-
First of all, no one said that. If anything, all we said was BTS was the first to do it successfully unlike the Wonder Girls. Granted, even Sunmi has STATED that they paved the way. Please make it make sense.
-
They were generally targeted toward a younger audience who shopped at Justice, yet that doesn’t mean they had a bigger impact or “paved the way” considering where they peaked, and the general American public not knowing them.. I can say with my chest PSY and BTS truly out impacted.
-
So we would like the names, who paved the way?
-
It’s absolutely not though. By any chance, do you live in the USA? The only Korean acts that I can fully say have had an impact here are PSY and BTS. End. Edit: I forgot, Blackpink also had more impact than them.
-
See thats the thing, that was their primary impact though. It’s not even a drag, but they attracted a tween audience more so than the general American public.. They also had a Nick movie but otherwise they didn’t “pave the way”.

OH SHIT MY BAD

They absolutely did NOT have a hit in the USA though and they peaked around 70 on billboard. Truthfully, the most impact they did have was appearing on Wendy Williams. In fact, PSY had more impact. I love my girls but come on...
