lmao this is.... a lot. i feel like kpop has toned down the fanservice a lot in the later years.

Look, i don't wanna start shit and be confrontational but i disagree with you very much. If you don't see contradictions in your own logic... well.
what part is contradictory?

This "It's normal for straight people to hook up with each other!Especially if they're hot!" discourse always makes my eyes roll so hard. Like... it's not fanfic we're talking about. If they're really straight, they better wank to porn than engage in sexual activity with another dude. And it's not like they're completely isolated - take any idol, there's always some pre-debut girlfriends/boyfriends. Idk what acrobatic trick your mind gotta do to actually believe that a person can consensually be involved with a person of the same sex and still be straight. It's kind of biphobic and just weird.
but it IS normal though. i know plenty straight people who've been with someone of the same gender just because they were horny and it was convenient, or because they were curious and simply wanted to know what it was like.
i've even been with a straight girl myself, when we were both drunk and horny. afterwards she told me "thanks, that was good, but i still don't like girls that way" but that doesn't mean it was any less consensual lol

I fully agree that most queer kids know they're gay at a very young age. Looking back on what I did and was interested in it was pretty clear I was a lesbian at like 11/12. Would pair up my Barbie with other girl dolls, was more interested in girl groups than boy bands, hung up pictures of pretty girls in my middle school locker, etc.
But I do think it's a double sided sword. Teen years are confusing as fuck for everyone and confusion about your sexuality is normal even for straight teens. So I tend not to discuss teen idols because who knows where they're going to land. Especially since they're in a industry that not only basically prevents them from being around members of the opposite sex but also surrounds them with members of the same sex who are attractive and fit. I really don't think it's unusual for straight idols to casually hook up with each other (similar to same-sex boarding schools). I don't think that changes until they hit late teens / early 20s and have more control over who they are around, who they can date or spend time with.
same!! i was so obvious when i was 11/12 (but then i had the whole gay crisis and did everything in my power to look straight lol)
about the double edged sword: yeah that's true, but the same goes for adult idols tbh. even grown ass men in the industry don't have the power to date freely. so it's still pretty convenient for two straight dudes to get each other off just to relieve some tension, no strings attached.
but i think it's pretty easy to spot the difference between that and someone who feels genuine same-sex attraction.

I have been waiting for someone to say this omg. I feel like sometimes people who are "underage" will be more telling than when they are older. When you're young you do things that are natural for you and you don't have a concept of how things are "supposed to be" yet.
(I don't know if this is a stereotype or not but since that is also a topic recently:) Like when trans women are younger they wear dresses and makeup or how gay boys (pan, bi or not straight at all) will like dolls instead of action figures and cars - the reason i mention this is because when i was younger i wanted dolls instead of other toys but my parents wouldn't give me them and i wore my mom dresses and heels so I don't know if its always true but i guess it can apply sometimes.
Anyways to summarize this i think kids will honestly be more open about their sexuality because they don't have people yelling "you're wrong for" this and that yet.
exactly!
it's kinda similar to how kids show very obvious signs when they lie (not making eye-contact, hiding their hands, talking very fast or not at all etc.) but as they grow older they get better and better at it. you can see the complete opposite signs when adults lie (intense eye-contact, using hands when speaking, very controlled behaviour in general) because they've learned through trial and error to repress their natural body language.
i say it's similar because many lgbt children, like you said, will often show very obvious signs early on but as they grow older they internalize gender norms and heteronomativity.
when i came out as a lesbian to my mom she wasn't surprised at all. she said i was always a tomboy when i was little and very protective of other girls (i was really tall and strong for my age, and i loved to fight so most of the boys were scared of me lol
)but as i grew older i learned to be more feminine and to act straight

since we're on the topic of fetishization anyways.....
this complete refusal to talk about underage idols because "they're too young!! they can't possibly know at their age" is not only infantilizing and factually wrong, since most gay kids (myself included) starts feeling same-gender attraction in their early teens and often feel alienated from their peers even before that
but it's also one form of fetishization, because it assumes there's something inherently dirty and perverse about gayness. something that kids shouldn't even be aware of, much less involvevd in. it all just plays into the hypersexualization of gay boys imgo

my personal interpretation of vixx and how confident i am in my predictions
hakyeon: gay (80% sure but he could be bi)
ravi: bisexual (100% certain there's no doubt in my mind)
leo: straight (60% he's very "no homo" but still a lil suspect at times, especially with ravi)
ken: tbh i can't get a good read on him. he's super flamboyant and does the most gay shit in vixx, but i've only seen him show genuine interest in girls..... so what is the truth.gif
hongbin: straight (100% the straightest guy in vixx)
hyuk: straight (50% i could easily be wrong)

Jun seems very gay to me. Also, remember his connection to Heechul? That was adorable.
yes omg!!

this was what initially put him on the radar for me and then i realized he's literally the second coming of heechul himself
edit: whoops didn't see you already posted the selfie :p

Some people suspect NCT's WinWin (idk tho) and theres Tao lmao andddd I forgot who else?? But I just said that because of Conservative Chinaâ„¢
+ jackson (ik it's not mainland china but still) and all the chinese uniq members (especially wenhan)
-
fjkdskl YOUR USERNAME! I love it so much
Anyways, I think Jun is gay tbh and if he is bi, then I believe he has a (strong) preference for guys.
Like all of this vvvv
Honestly supports my claim. and Ive never seen him show too much interest in girls tbh. ?? And just his whole aura kinda screams gay to me. Its kinda hard to see him with a girl at times
The gay china line in the thread grows.same!! jun screams Gay with a capital G to me. i guess most people would disagree since he's not very stereotypically flamboyant or feminine, but personally i just can't imagine him with a girl
-
i think it's pretty accepted here that jun is bi! him, mingyu and seungkwan are the only ones there seems to be a consensus about, the other two being pretty confidently considered gay. the big sources of debate seem to be vernon and joshua, with occasionally hoshi and jeonghan getting thrown into the mix
personally, i can see vernon as bi with a preference for girls while joshua throws my entire gaydar out of balance. hoshi and jeonghan i think are both straight. minghao pinged for me for a while in very nice/early boom boom-era, but as time goes on i've accepted he's most likely straight; to be fair, i haven't followed seventeen nearly as closely since about the time that their recent mini album came out, so i could be completely wrong. (plus as a lesbian i'm a lot more comfortable in my gaydar with women than with men, but i feel like there's a bit of insight that comes from also being gay nonetheless)
omg it's almost like i ghost wrote this
but just out of curiosity why do you think jun is bi? not arguing or anything, i've just never seen him show any interest for women
-
seventeen is quite the hot topic here but i never see anyone mention junhui, which is weird since he's like... the gayest of them all

him fanboying over wonho at 2:15 lol the thirst is real
minghao's reaction is pretty telling too "no, i don't know" aka: no, i don't think of men that way

x now i don't usually think much of fanservice but jun is literally always ready to do some gay shit
GOD FUCK I CANT EMBED TWEETS 4 SOME REASON BUT THIS IS GAY
this isn't proof of anything but tell me he isn't serving power bottom teas??? king-

about one and a half years ago i found this really long pdf file (maybe 60 pages long) of a translated korean queer study. i think it was by LGAAD or some other lgbt organization. unfortunately it's been deleted off my laptop and i can't find it ANYWHERE on the internet...

it covered a wide range of test examples - many thousands participated in the online tests and in addition they also did a lot of personal interviews... it was a fairly recent study too (from 2014 if i'm not wrong)
the tests were all categorized: lesbians, gay men, bisexual women, bisexual men, trans women, trans men. that way they could look specifically at what kind of danger/discrimination each group was facing.
the participants were somewhere between the ages of 14-80 y/o (with the majority being in their 20s). there were some really interesting statistics about things like: bullying, conversion therapy, religion, previous suicide attempts and/or suicidal thoughts, the process of gender-reassignment etc.
if anyone knows what i'm talking about, please help me out!! i really need this data

I always thought of UNIQ as one of rare 100% straight groups.
really? i think wenhan, yixuan and sungjoo are all quite suspect (especially wenhan)
the maknae line are the only ones who doesn't ping me at all

rocky from astro pings me a lot but i can't put my finger on why... i first saw him on hit the stage, and his dancing style really stood out from the other contenders. he's trained in jazz and ballet, but he also excels in hiphop.
i've noticed he incorporates a lot of ballroom moves (aka voguing) into his dance, like splits, spins and even death drops. i find this choice really interesting since it's so heavily associated with the lgbt community. in fact the only other male idols i've seen vogue is
(who have never shied away from homoeroticism) and(a true gay icon)offstage he seems a bit quiet and reserved sometimes, so it's hard to read him. astro also doesn't do an awful lot of skinship from what i've seen, but going just by feeling, him and eunwoo are both on my suspect list

DramaquinYou're a Dramaquin.A messy bitch who likes drama is the house motto.Dramaquin students value drama and forum shenanigans above all else. Stanning a group being boring is not in our DNA. We enjoy drama and seek it out in many different ways such as provoking Braggindor about false sales figures ,goading Delulupuff with unpleasantness or simply play out our own dramas through multiple threads. We find entertainment in chaos. Consequently Dramaquin has the highest number of trolls among all the OHgwart houses, thought not all Dramaquins are trolls.
Most Dramaquin students can be found in the random section posting threads intended to provoke. The Dramaquin house emblem is a laughing hyena, as like the hyena Dramaquin students are here for a laugh.
as expected

idk if anyone's already posted this but i found it so interesting
monsta x "the clan" trilogy literally spells out LGBT
part 1: LOST
part 2: GUILTY
part 3: BEAUTIFUL
TRILOGY
like not to get all bts stan conspiracy theorist on you guys, but i don't think it's a coincidence. they obviously put some thought into their videos and there's just no denying "all in" is about homophobia
"fighter" and "beautiful" aren't as in your face about it but both can read lyrically as being part of this gay storyline
