Yeah long time ago there was this author named Natsume Soseki and I think he also translated stories from English to Japanese and when the word "I love you" came up, his students translated it word for word, but Natsume told him that Japanese people wouldn't say (direct) things like that and they would instead say things like "Tsuki ga kirei desu ne (The moon is beautiful)" as in "The moon I watch with you is beautiful". Now people don't use it but a lot of Japanese people know this story.

I really loved that book. It is so painful to read but it's so touching and teaches you a lot about what redemption really is and what friendship is as well. I cried a couple times reading it.

She moved out of Japan with her soccer player husband after she got married but I'm not sure if they came back. I watched a few of her dramas and she's a pretty okay actress but I remember enjoying her appearances on variety shows more. She's half Italian and half Japanese but since she can only speak Japanese she said she can't really communicate with her father who can only speak Italian xD
