  1. Please link it and i’ll fix it.

Message for everyone though, please don’t make threads like this when the one you wanna post in doesn’t work, just report the thread and a mod will fix it as soon as they can. Else this forum will be full of such threads...

I PMed the tech mod a couple of days ago, but it still wasn't fixed, just checked now and the the posts accumulated over the past few days are finally showing up

  2. When your survival show worlds collide...He Luoluo from Produce Camp, Chen Tao from QCYN and Ling Chao from Idol Producer all got accepted into Shanghai Theatre Academy

He Luoluo placed #1 in Zhejiang, #20 in the country

Chen Tao placed #5 in Shanghai, #10 in the country

Ling Chao placed #1 in Hebei, #39 in the country

They'll be classmates if they all choose to attend the same school, don't know how many other film schools they applied for, but I'm anticipating this new generation of actors. I feel like a proud mom watching them grow through these survival shows, they're so young, but already have such bright futures.

Is He Luoluo supposed to take his college entrance exams while he's on Produce Camp though???

  3. So they calculate the average age from each company's group of trainees? For example the average age for wjjw boys was 20 but I know not all of them are 20. It's a weird system but at least it's original.

Yes, I watched the girls version too and I remember in the first episode some girls were eliminated already (like one of the sunshine members I think? And another one from Sunnee's company iirc). In this case at least they aren't kicking out trainees from the very first episode but the competition is still intense. I agree that iQiyi is better at portraying the daily lives/bonding of the trainees but the evaluation system of pd101 is much more exciting with all the challenges and stuff.

I hope PC keeps my interest though. S1 started really good but eventually it became kinda boring and stopped watching around the ep 7-8 :/

Also, random but I noticed that there's no Yuehua trainees this time. It's the first time Yuehua doesn't send trainees to a produce show? At least in China (in Korea they didn't send for S1 either afaik). There's also many companies that usually send trainees to IP like OACA, Mavericks, Gramarie, etc that didn't send trainees either. Aside from Banana and Qin's, most of the companies weren't that well known for me.

I think after the contract dispute and threats of lawsuits for Xuanyi and Meiqi last season, Yuehua will never send their trainees to another Tencent show likewise Tencent will probably never want another Yuehua trainee. There's bad blood between them now. A lot of the companies probably focus on film & television.

  4. So I started to watch ep 1 subbed and it's surprisingly VERY entertaining? I really liked the beginning when they enter the "camp" and get the 3 surprises (uniforms, family/managers and bags) and then go to the dorms. Can't believe they're really sleeping in those lame bunk beds tho lmao.

I also find the system refreshing? I get that demoting to F to the ones that chose A but didn't get A in the mentor evaluation is kinda cruel but pretty original compared to the usual produce system. I didn't understand the age order thing tho. So they enter according to age order or company? Because it seemed like both, but not all the trainees from a same company are the same age so ?? The last one to enter was a 26 y/o guy, so considering there's a 32-33 there shouldn't he be the last one to enter then?

The mentors were all gorgeous in their 20s? o_o But even now in their 40s (?) they look great tbh.

The way they came out is average age, and a lot of them like the dance team are all from different companies. I think they had a few days to come up with a performance together, but surprisingly they looked better as a team than some of the trainees from the same company.

The last mentor that came out is actually 54 yrs old.

Did you watch PD101 China with the girls? In that one after everyone auditioned they brought in a few girls who wanted to try being in a girl group, but had no training whatsoever and if they win a battle with an A, one of the lower contestants would get kicked off the show. In ep2 of this one, they bring in ex-idols including Casper's former groupmate from Cross Gene and Yang Feitong from Idol Producer. They also have to battle an A, and if they get an A, they can stay, but if they don't they have to leave. It gets more intense.

I still prefer the way iQiyi films their day to day activities, remixes their songs and do the stages in general, but PD101 China and Produce Camp does have a more entertaining audition process.

  5. Ep2 was not bad.

The battles were pretty fun to watch.

The "Baby" group had an insane amount of visuals.

I wouldn't mind if any of them made it to the final 11.

That being said, Zhou Zhennan at #1 was expected.

But tbh, I don't really get center vibes from him.

And the top 11 pretty much was all of X-NINE. I expect that'll change once people get to know more of the boys.

Li Xingyi at 23 unsure.png Would have hoped he'd be higher

He Junxiong was at 14 I think...hoping he rises

    Looking forward to next ep!

Oh My God, the Baby group was sooooo adorable, I just want to adopt them all, especially He Luoluo and his stupid winks. I had a smile on my face the entire time watching them, but it's so weird listening to a Justin Bieber song in Chinese.

The battles were so much better than the girl version, because instead of having nobodies fighting for the 11 A spots, all the newcomers were previous idols. It was both sad and dramatic. Even though none of the trainees had to get kicked out in the audition stage, seeing the newcomers leave, because they didn't get an A is super sad too.

I dunno, I feel like I'm going to like the audition episodes way more than the rest of the show like I did with the girl version.

These Chinese platforms are seriously coming down hard on reuploaded videos on Youtube. I don't know why they can't upload it on their own channel and then open it up to subs like a lot of dramas.

  6. Tbh, the hair thing might just be mediaplay by Iqiyi thing.

If it was, it completely backfired. I'm more curious if certain trainees getting kicked out from any of these shows is mediaplay. I can't imagine them not having teams of people to do proper vetting of the contestants and make sure there isn't any old social media posts or videos of them from the past that might bring backlash.

  7. idk if google translate is correct but this article [x] says that some of the contestants are:

Ladybees: Kong Xueer, Liu Yuxi, Zhang Youran, Xu Heqi

You and My Girl: Ma Yijun, Song Fangyuan, Wei Bingxue, Le Yu

AKB48 TEAMSH: Zhu Xi, Li Shiqi, Zhou Nianqi, Zhuang Xiaoyu, Wang Yuduo

    Yuehua/PD48/Everglow: Wang Yiren

Wang Yiren...that's the rumor on Weibo

Will Du Mama really do it though?

  8. Tbf it was QCYN finale vs PC ep 1.

All the rants  and raves over the final lineup + Ciwen's shade generated more buzz (either positive/negative) for QCYN.

Anyway PC has 10+ eps left to catch up.

Wonder if QCYN Girls season will start in the middle of PC's airing or at the finale.

    ==

PC and IP are different shows owned by different companies

Produce Camp - S2 of Produce 101 China, the boys version (S1 was girls version), and owned by Tencent

Qing Chun You Ni - S2 of Idol Producer, and owned by iQiyi. Both S1 and S2 are boys ver

Qing Chun You Ni Girls Up! - S3 of Idol Producer, the girls version. Also owned by iQiyi.

They probably will, if the rumor is true about Tencent reporting them (not just for the hair, but also long runtime so the last few episodes were all scaled down to 2 hours), I'm waiting to see how iQiyi will retaliate.

  9. I think I'm becoming obsessed with the two moles under Xia Zhiguang's eyes, need to look up more X-Nine stuff now. I like this song

The only one I really know is Xiao Zhan...is Xia Zhiguang also in Oh My Emperor too? I've been meaning to watch that. Were the rest of them also busy acting prior to joining Produce Camp?

How Wajijiwa's management? I know people have been bashing them for sending the boys and Zhennan to Produce Camp, do they also prioritize film/television over music?

Not related to UNINE but it's related to Wenhan so I'll post it in spoiler. Yibo and Sungjoo have watched the live broadcast of the finale and have kept up with QCYN. Yixuan was there supporting Wenhan in person during the finale. Seungyoun is in ProduceX right now so he doesn't have access to his phone. But I'm just really touched that the members are so supportive of Wenhan. They seem to have a really good relationship despite not being an active group for the past couple of years. I'm not a Unicorn but I will definitely support UNIQ if they do a comeback in the future.

There are still recent videos of them hanging out and having fun together. They were that truly bilingual group with members that could converse in both languages, I had such high hopes for them back in the day and loved their songs. I feel like they are individually probably making more acting/hosting/producing music than if they were to just keep promoting as a group with their music alone, but I'm desperately waiting for a comeback too, not just them suddenly dropping a single like Monster. Very curious how the contracts are this time around, especially how willing Yuehua is to let go of control of 2 of their boys since most people blame what happened to Nine Percent on Yuehua.
