  1. The dislike for J-Hope's style is directly proportional to being a basic bitchâ„¢.
  2. I can almost hear people foaming at their mouth. What a lovely sound.
  3. Hello there, my good people. I'm usually just an occasional lurker but since I'm quite excited for the cb, as I have somewhat recently had a revelation (in which it dawned on me I should've been wasting my time and money on MX a long time ago. tsk tsk I repent), you might see more of me here. So far, I love the kinda retro vibes of the teasers. Do they usually follow up with the concept feels, so to say, or should I prepare myself for a possible major twist?
  4. As a wise man once said: Do you! Yall hatin... smh
  5. “You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant.â€

  6. Beautiful OP. Late with this. Was it already posted? Click here to view the Tweet Can I be delulu and hope for some proper interaction/collab of any sorts? Please. Pretty please. Great to hear the work on the mixtape is continuously in active mode. Mentioning it here and there, even if it takes some time (as it seems it will) is always good for building anticipation. It's also important to know the limit and time such (unintentional?) promo carefully. We'll see. I trust his professionalism as always.
  7. Nice to finally see it in that clean form. It might not be my taste stylistically per se, but I really enjoy this choreo for playing smartly on the group dynamic and not making them die on stage. Despite that heavy breathing. lol
  8. Double post. He does not seem in the mood. lmao but the photo still looks so nice. Colors.
  9. Number one - MAMA. I have to admit to myself and the world I actually found myself surprised. Extraordinary command of the stage and overflowing charisma. I might be a flop stan but I wasn't expecting such a Presence. (that capital is totally intentional) I agree with what was said. He needs to be seen to fully feel his art. I'm also of the opinion that he (sometimes) needs to be seen alone to produce this effect to the fullest - the performance just confirmed my thoughts that his humility slightly hinders him in certain ways. Anyway, that was a well rounded performance if I've ever seen one. The transitions between the strict (choreoed) and loose form parts were so smooth. In fact, the loose parts are what had me shook the most. How naturally and confidently they were pulled off. His energy, the passion and depth of emotion... geez! How much of a strength it can be for him. This part. Got chills. I thought I couldn't love MAMA more but I guess he proved me wrong. God bless his mother. I wouldn't survive that. And he actually threw in a bit of singing. And he pulled that off so good as well. In the words of a legend: Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Then that little quirky choreo part. Shook. Basically, I'd say the "golden hyung" aspect of him was quite compartmentalized so far. If he is given more opportunities to present a wholesome marriage of that whole narrative...which could also draw on his production skills that he's been honing all this time for more authored works... man... some weaves might be snatched... It's hard for me to just extract one verse from the whole. His part in Young Forever and 2,3! and pretty much the entire BME and MAMA lyrics wise. In terms of how it sounds, that's almost impossible lol so many parts. I don't know... I'd also go with Rain, as well as Path, for that borderline singing that opens the rap for example. Born Singer, Baepsae... 1Verse in its entirety for sth that is right up my alley stylistically, BME and MAMA could also fall into that category... And I know doesn't count at all. But I'll use the opportunity to fangirl over it whenever I can. Thank you for putting it here. It's always good to read different overviews. "he is extremely easy going on stage, has fun while being there, is in his won little world while dancing" This last comma bit. Couldn't agree more. So tangible. So far the analyses from letitneverbeforgotten are the most comprehensive and detailed ones I've seen, if we're talking about more people who know what they're talking about. (And she gets a golden sticker for being witty). Learned a lot there. In various ways. Even her dance non-related posts are highly intelligently written and interesting. I assume everyone's already familiar with her stuff. p.s. that Hoseok pimp style is life! More eccentric outfits please. Rapper line together as always --> p.p.s since it's dance related, I'm so glad for Mr. Son. Deserved on every level possible.
  10. Hello, everyone! Since I have no shame I'll promote my own appreciation thread lol - it's actually the fourth part of the countdown you've seen so far and product of a collective effort to celebrate all sides of Hobi. Feel free to drop by if you feel like enjoying a bit of a ride through Hoseok the dancer universe and share your love.
  11. While I was writing my post, you commented, and I just want to clarify that my BST part wasn't some snake-ish shade on what you said. What I wanted to say is that by that logic I should expect several following title tracks (and even b-sides) to focus on Jin, or even Hoseok, since by RM's own words he had shorter parts in the past, and some other members to get one to zero lines. I'm pretty confident that's not happening. Nor would I ever want it for any member. But the reasoning makes no sense.
  12. Guys, he's obviously emulating Justin Timberlake with the ramen hair. Now let's emulate that career trajectory. lmao ~~~~~~ The lines... *insert theatrical sigh*
  13. Not including that would be heresy. I'll try to do as much as I can. And I warmly invite everyone who's interested in helping with this topic to PM me. Yep, also think it'll be better (read: provide better exposure *wink wink*) if we do separate threads for each day. And I'm totally up for some kind of division of work, since we all have lives outside of kpop stuff. It'd be best if we could agree on something and arrange it together - it would look neater, somewhat thematically coherent and, hopefully, interesting to peeps to check it out. Even if the OPs put out the thread on their own in the end, they could always get some help (if they want it), at least during the working process. Oooor we could chip in within the actual thread and just be credited. Personally, I'm perfectly fine with that. Don't give a hoot about rep and upvotes. Y'all can have it. So, we have a rap thread and a dance one planned. Don't know about Akpheart but mine might be a bit nearer to D-Day, cuz time. What else? And when exactly are we starting? There are topics that are definitely not that time consuming... his singing, production involvement, even acting and beatboxing, as some additional talents. Also, there are several personality traits that I admire and that are everything but the same old "happy virus" trope... There's plenty of us here willing to do something. Anything more specific? The day is kinda approaching... it doesn't have to be anything complicated. Let's just show some love for the man. Daily quote, like 52Hz said, seems like a great idea. Do you mean including something thematically related to the already posted thread or just make a stand-alone thread out of the quote? I just heard Not Today teaser and I'm super hyped so I'm throwing out everything that comes to mind.
  14. I've been out of touch with everything lately but missing Hoseok's b-day is not an option. Is sth already in the works? My suggestion is similar to Akpheart's - I would like to devote a thread to Hoseok the Dancer. If anyone is interested in doing it, hit me up. I would honestly need help and would appreciate it immensely (especially since I've never made a thread before, plus, my work is getting kinda intense this month, so, time...). If you can connect me with a pro dancer willing to give his/her two cents, we could do wonders, but now I'm being greedy. If this would include exploration of lyrics as a part of his expression, I'm always here to help/contribute if needed. ~~~~~ All the countdown threads I've seen so far for other members have been absolutely lovely. Great idea. A proposition in the light of our somewhat recent discussions here - put the focus on his many talents. There's a lot of material there. "The Golden Hyung" as an all-encompassing topic might inspire some more concrete ideas. Hmm? If we're gonna do personality oriented (broadly speaking. you get me) threads, also great, but it might be beneficial to present less known/pushed sides of him, or present the old truths in a new light. If you catch my drift. ;) I'd be glad to help with anything you guys are interested in doing. Granted, my only skill is research/writing. GIFing and all that fancy stuff is rocket science to me.
  15. That gif. I need a pool of holy water. Basically, I mostly agree with 52Hz, even though I wouldn't like to. What this discussion made me do is go through some of his lyrics (in addition to those parts of interviews that were a huge help) to try to understand him and the situation better. Not to go into some deeper analysis, what I've found interesting is the amount of not so cheerful lyrics from the supposedly quite a cheerful guy (by this I don't mean just the concept being consumed by those who can't see past their blinkers but also what the members themselves often say about Hoseok). Mama is overflowing with many statements that not only scream of hardship but also suggest a very externally oriented sense of satisfaction and achievement. We can also look at BME - sure, it's an intro, the role of which is to set the tone for the rest of the album, and Wings had that... darkish overtone, but so far intros were also personal pieces (I mean, Nevermind...), so to have what I'd argue to be the darkest song in BTS' official discography worked on and quite powerfully delivered by the "brightest" member is highly interesting. Another thing that came to mind. If I misinterpreted something here, feel free to correct me. It seems that Hoseok auditioned for J*YP as a dancer. A few videos from that period. Too lazy to link. And then comes BigHit, original Bangtan line-up. This is what he signed up for. Not an idol group. What did they mean by that? Something like Bl*ock B or even purer? If I remember correctly, Rapmon (or Yoongi?) also said somewhere that they weren't supposed to dance. When? When Hoseok was already a part of it? Kinda seems so. Even if we had something a la Bl*ock B it still reduces dancing to the absolute minimum, something that is way below Hoseok's capabilities and, one would think looking at the things he said since debut, interests. So what happened in that J*YP period? It is possible he realized rapping is what he's truly into and not dancing. However, this is not what I'm getting from him, at all. Interviews, lyrics in which he repeatedly mentions it, t he quote in my sig just oozes dancer mentality. This is a person doing what he's passionate about and not something he'd exchange in a heartbeat. And he still doesn't put enough emphasis on himself being a rapper. But he joined a non-idol group... "I, who started out just loving dance, is soon to stand on stage. I nurture my notion to bend rather than to break." (Path) "I was just a common kid from Gwangju who looked at idols." (Cypher pt1) He obviously wanted to succeed ("a promise to succeed", Mama) and be on stage. So, concerning the part of whether he's doing and/or getting what he wants to, I'm somewhere in the middle. I do believe he's doing what he wants to (the mixtape, dance leader duties, etc.) and even partially getting what he wanted to, but that doesn't equate to one's dreams being fulfilled. The lyrics and the interviews don't give off that vibe. After all, success is made up of compromises and sacrifices and it consists of different levels of feeling different types of accomplishment. Whether Hoseok at this moment has a clear vision of what he wants is another matter. Someone who has done all that he has to be where he is today, adapting to every situation, doing more than well in everything that was expected of him (I need to start handing out leaflets of that interview), should be seen as highly driven. The desire is there. Clearly defined goal after certain things have been achieved? I can't tell. He doesn't share much... That's the part that concerns him. The part that concerns BigHit is a bigger problem. 52Hz mentioned patience... First of all, I agree that maintaining BTS' current popularity is the priority. However, as someone who is interested in Hoseok getting the attention he deserves, I can't say my patience is limitless. Or rather, it's not about me - I don't think this is something he can afford himself. Sadly, some things have an expiration date. They do in general, but we know the idol world is even more unforgiving. If he's interested in showing off his talents and being recognized for them, he doesn't have all the time in the world. Plus, as we can see, harm has already been done and unless he pulls off something that would unexpectedly attract attention to him, that damage will not be rectified easily. If he wants to be on the stage and not behind it, and that is how it seems, he and BH better stop dilly-dallying. Pronto. To what extent would BigHit even be willing to go down that path since Hoseok is now one of the least popular members and they can't use him as efficiently as some others to promote the group? Worrying... There has been so much potential here from day one. Still don't understand what the f*ck happened... It didn't happen over night, that's for sure. Finishing this off with one piece of advice, if anyone is still reading. lol I wouldn't recommend having an utterly apathetic approach. It is very important what others think of him. Why? Because he is a part of the entertainment industry. What that implies is his career feeding off fans' responses. If he doesn't get the proper amount of positive feedback, it can't survive or improve... ...Setting my expectations low for this year. I'll enjoy every little piece of content we get from him. But what I've also decided to do is to become more vocal about the whole matter. If BigHit doesn't want to promote him, then I'll contribute in any puny way I can. Definitely voting for Hit the Stage, even if that doesn't do anything, I want people to see his name on the top of that poll. I should've done the minimum I could as a fan sooner instead of just silently digging that salt mine all the way to Korea...
  16. I have a couple of things to comment on, of course, which I'll do as soon as I have some time to put everything out somewhat coherently. For now, this is the reward I can offer lol cr cr
  17. ~~~~ So, it seems Jin was funny as always. Hoseok was kinda dancing, I'll accept it for now. My stomach is slightly upset from seeing some things they ate. Good, good. Click here to view the Tweet Waiting for subs
  18. That last Tae's part made me way too emo ~~~~ cr BTS - kings of being humble and respectful pt. 18724135783.... and counting
  19. Funny? Or feasible and brilliant... Sleepy is the one who introduced Namjoon to BigHit and to some extent put the whole story in motion, didn't he? I'm really interested about that little part of the convo now...
  20. Love what I'm seeing. Jin fit in great, looks like he's having fun. Rising variety star. And that promo game is strong. ~~~~ Kook's killin it. He always chooses the songs so well.
