Just finished reading Red Sister by Mark Lawrence, and whew what a book. I truly do love Lawrence's writing style, its just so overtly dramatic and lyrical, and he has a gift in gradually building up tension, so much so that it forces you to stay up until 5:00 AM just to finish the book once you begin to approach the climax. The ending the book literally had my heart pounding; easily the strongest part of the book. The middle part was probably the weakest link, its pacing was slow in comparison to the beginning and the end, but not slow enough that it felt boring. Amazing world building as always, the world that this book takes place in was really fascinating to learn about imo. The book also isn't as polarizing as Lawrence's other books, which are known for their overwhelming brutality, this book is still pretty bloody tho, even for an adult novel. There are also LGBT relationships which is a plus!! Ugh, I loved it
