  1. I am sorry, it's been a long time since I visited any SNSD thread, so I would really appreciate it if people could fill me in on any recent or new SNSD activity this year. From what I skimmed through, it seems like they will have a reality show soon ?

  3. Just like why I don't undertstand how you find Yoona plain. -Beauty is in the eye of the beholder-
  4. Thank you all for your answers. I can't believe she is starring in a drama about Zhao Yun - he is my favorite Chinese historical figure. It's just meant to be The casts look pretty good and it'll be shown on Hunan TV, which is a major boardcasting network for Chinese dramas. Hopefully it'll be a grand debut to Yoona's individual activity in China.
  5. I have not been able to keep up with SNSD updates lately but I just saw someone said Yoona is going to star in a chinese historical drama. Can anyone fill me in on that ? Is it confirmed or what is it about ??
  6. That would be one hell of an awkward and fake soapy concert. SNSD fans don't need closure right now, they just need to decide what will they do with SNSD & Jessica from now on.
  7. She doesn't want to officially leave the group but if she decided to go to the US to study and get married, that temporary leave would be as good as a permanent one. Look at Kim Ki Bum, he never officially annouced his departure from Super Junior but do you see working with the group at all ? And you think they would kick a member out and risk the reputation and the future of the group that they have spent years building up due to lack of communication or emotional rush ? Even if SNSD wants to kick Jessica out, you think the rational/unemotional SM management will let them do that without careful consideration ? Jessica must have done something so severly that it pissed both SM and SNSD off to the point that they had no choice but to kick her out immediately and it's definitely not because of the lack of communication.
  8. Taeyeon isn't exactly the typical leader that was chosen/elected by the group. She was chosen merely because she is the oldest and it's well-known that she had asked to step down as the leader in the past because she didn't think she could do a good job. I think it's unfair to ask of her to step up and say something when I think the best strategy for OT8 to do right now is to keep silent. People all want the truth or at least, hear the explanation from OT8 but I don't think they have meticulously calculated the effect of it. If the explanation revealed more negative aspects of Jessica, which is highly probable given the circumstances, it would be viewed by many Jessica-stans as the ultimate betrayal. Thus, causing more shots to be fired from both sides. The damage has been done, there is no going back, so just be patient if you want to hear the explanation from their side although I believe it won't be anything but negative about Jessica.
  9. It really amazes me when not too long ago, Taeyeon was the most beloved member among fans and now she is the punching bag for all OT9 fans to vent their frustration. Come on now, people. What the hell did she do ??
  10. The problem is her "official statement" literally threw ALL the members under the bus. She had a chance to express her side of the story but she conveniently left out some key details like her study plan, her marriage and the fact that she demanded to leave SNSD more than once (all of them are facts that have been rumored among all the insiders for a while now, it's not like they were made up overnight).
  11. I have been pretty negligent with the recent news of the group lately but this news is too big to stay out of Though I'm surprised that I'm much calmer with this news than I thought, probably because I never expected SNSD to continue for this long. I can somewhat sympathized with Jessica because I also just changed my career path but this news really saddened my day.
  12. Of course, she would want to stay as a member of SNSD...there is no logical reason for her to leave the group. Staying as a member of the #1 girlgroup while making her own money and having her own career is a heavely perfect scenario for her. At least. SM gives us fans a clear answer for Jessica's exit instead of making the fans helplessly yearning for someone who never comeback like how they reacted with Kim Kibum's. This exit might be too sudden but all the indications have been there for a while with Blanc, her relationship, etc. I don't blame Jessica for leaving; in fact, I'm glad that she has found her path. It's just unfortunate that it could not coexist with her life as a member of SNSD.
  13. I just happened to have Costa as my captain this week when Daniel Sturidgge was out with an injury...Lucky me   I'm happy for Kagawa though, Dortmund seems like the place that he could thrive :)
  14. It's not about the negative response since no sane person would have bash a marriage unless that person is an asshole through and through, it's about the image. Think about it, a management company could not careless about how nice the girls are if they don't bring in money, so they would not want to take a risk of putting resources into promoting a group with married members since the marketing power has been severly reduced. There are always younger and more beautiful groups coming out and even if SNSD has been a smashing success, they can't escape the cycle of business. It's a very pessimistic point of view, but I think it's not far from reality, so fans like us should at least have a sense of the future if the rumor turns out to be true.
  15. Let's get real. Being married is effectively the end of an idol's career. The only Korean celebrities that are still successful after marriage are the actors who have established themselves long before it. SNSD doesn't belong to that category and especially for a girl group, the drop-off in popularity after marriage is much more significant than a boy group. Thefore, even if they really want to stay and promote as a group, it's not gonna be easy, if not, impossible.
  16. If she decided to get married, a temporary leave is the same as a permanent one.... Now the girls are entering the phrase where they have different priorities in life (marry, career paths, etc.) and SNSD is possibly no longer their unanimous #1 priority anymore, which is completely normal given how many years they have worked. I'm sure many fans have thought about this before but these rumors coming at such a bad time just makes people confuse and scare even more than they should.
  17. Sometimes you should just let yourself be more...idk, emotional and sensitive because even though your logic could be rational, it doesn't really apply in a idol-fan relationship. Of course, any dating scandal will affect a group's development/popularity but ocacasionally it's not a priority.
  18. That was what I said , He/she was talking about why idols need to apologize, so I just answer a general question with a general respond. I completely agree with everything you said though. I don't see what status has to do with keeping the general rules in the thread. It's perfectly fine to have the urge to keep peace during chaotic times like this. I just don't want people to have the wrong idea of allowed topics in this thread. That's all. To be frank, it's very hard to refute all the hidden/secret message and the damage is already done and like you said both parties are hurt, so there is no need to drag it further. Taeyeon apologized, the fans should try to understand her and those who don't, they leave her fandom. Taeyeon's reputation definitely takes a hit here, the degree is still unknown, and it's unfortunate that the whole thing escalates to something like this.
  19. That's why I said the reason seems asinine but I could actually symphathize with K-Sones in a way. The Kpop idol industry relies on marketing more than anything else. There are many pretty idols who are very talented but you don't see them as popular as others, because they are not marketed well. The fundamental of most marketing strategies are the flawless idol, who acts like a Virgin Mary. This was how SNSD were and are still marketed as till this day. So, datings aren't normally perceived as good faith because of the marketing. Look at the Japanese idols for example. AKB 48 has their no-dating rule because their career could be destroyed if they has a dating scandal, especially for girls. They still get the checks, but the number certainly won't have as much zeros. Therefore, it's best for them to apologize because they kind of "break" the marketing image, other than that, I see no reason for her to apologize.
  20. This is not soshified. Anyone can say whatever they want about the girls as long as they have some logical reasoning to back it up. Though it seems like a lot of people still don't get why Taeyeon gets all the hates from her own fans while the other 4 members generally received support from K-Sones. The reason might seem asinine but it's how the Kpop idol industry has been working. Idols/Companies make money off their fans due to the marketed images of being flawless, so some people are overreacting because of their illusion. However, some older fans are angered because of the thought that Taeyeon used SNS to display her love for her boyfriend. She should have known better that she was playing with fire there but she didn't. No matter what anyone says about only a small fraction of her posts are allegedly dedicated to her boyfriend (this is a fact!) but it's still a very dumb thing to do. After all, I hope the blacklash will die down quickly as this matter shouldn't be something that make the fans to turn their backs against her. Also, TTS is coming back soon, and it'll be tough to have a proper & enjoyable promotion when Taeyeon would have to apologize and talk about this topic all the freaking time.
  21. That's the problem with the Korean entertainment. Idols make money off the fans with the illusion of being the one and only for them, so when that illusion is dispelled, the backlash would be humongous, think about it like a love relationship. The fans put money, time, effort into it and the idol reciprocate by doing her tasks & when the one side break the agreement, then the reaction is understandable. Honestly, I have always hoped that 2014 would be the last year the girls stay together, and I've been feeling that way since 2009-2010. It seems like they have different paths now, and with all the backlash from their datings, I would rather see them disband than witness their downfall like this.
  22. Not sure if anyone answered you but I think it's the Bang & Olufsen H3. I'm not sure though.
