Hwanwoong droped his short cover. He used the stripped shirt Lol Cute Click here to view the Tweet That youtuber made a great video about how Taemin uses sexuality, It's more like a run through/commentary on his solo work. I agree with what she said about how he choosed to perform Door.

Another soon to be idol talking about Move/Taemin and this time is Hwanwoong, RBW trainee and ex-PD101 contestant. I understand very little of what he said though, I think the question is about songs that he wants to cover. But I didn't see any translation of the whole answer out there. Hoping he'll do a cover soon. Inho and Inpyo of IN2IT (from the show Boys24) also danced to it briefly on a fansign. Click here to view the Tweet Taemin bringing all of these idols out.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
RedEggplant replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I didn't say that the androgyny in it and his sexuality have nothing to do with each other, just that they are not necessarily related. I agree with that what you posted is the common logic, it's just that sometimes people tend to forget that B) is a possibility and jump straight into C). Of course, I can't blame them for seeking representation, I'm guilty of that too sometimes, and that's okay, I'm just bringing another perspective. For me adopting these aesthetics and choosing that to represent himself as an an idol/artist doesn't automatically equal to him being lgbt, especially when there's interviews that broaden the possibilities, It just could make it more likely. In the end, he just ends up being pretty confusing to me Lol all of Shinee is probably lgbt friendly though, I love it -

About Taemin, I just think that some things about him are a bit conflicting. I won't deny that MOVE aesthetics can be easily associated with lgbt and some things since his comeback made me raise an eyebrow here and there, but based on his past interviews everything just doesn't add up. I've seen some posters here consider that some of his interviews and other moments about the topic have been evasive but there's some where it wasn't. I'll post some of them here if anyone is interested, but since it isn't that much in topic, in spoiler. Of course there was some change between the image he has choosen to represent to public compared to last year, it all has evolved. However, even though I'm sure that MOVE is a breakthrough for him in the way he perceives himself and balances his masculinity and femininity and how he made peace with that, I'm not sure in how it can be used as proof of his sexuality. These are not necessarily linked to each other. I would love if MOVE was that statement about him being lgbt but I just don't think it is, it isn't that simple. MOVE is first and foremost about challenging gender roles as he stated a ton of times, not much about his sexuality, imo. Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but that's how I see it at the moment. TL;DR For me he could be pretty much anything. -
Yes, for me it makes no sense to priorize potential if this a show where the choosen contestants are supposed to be ready to redebut. Maybe what he meant by that was that they would give a pass to the contestants with average singing/dancing that have star/idol potential, not that he expects that they will suddenly double their skills in a few months. Because, let's be honest, this formula does work really well in the real world. but meh I'm still not much convinced by the ones that they passed on this alone. On the other hand, it is very possible to have a contestant that has it all, singing, dancing, and star quality which will satisfy most of us, but we would be greedy to expect them all to be like that, that's not realistic, most will be at maximum decent in one of these and that's enough. Maybe some are still hidden and they will show in the next episodes, that's my hope.

I agree completely with everything, especially the bolded part. I don't remember much the rest of Broduce because I dropped it before the part with missions started because of the lack of talent, but several of them had a bit of star/idol quality , and even if they were not exceptional people would make excuses because they were either trainees or just too young. Also, I'm a bit in the fence with the mentors. I like most of them as artists, but Rain is making me roll my eyes. And most of the criticism from Taemin shown in the preview wasn't in the actual episode. There were times that even some mentors were missing. and I couldn't care less for San-E. Anyway, I'll wait for the subbed last two episodes to make my final judgement on how the mentors are doing. I will too use the next episodes to decide If I'm going to watch it fully or just choose 1 or 2 people to follow at the side
-
That's completely expected, there's just too many groups, fans will be pissed off, that's a given. Still, I would cut the screentime for all of solo-singers-who-want-to-be-idols, trainees and "actors" if it would be enough to show most of the truly failed idol group members, which should be the premise of the whole show. And by that I mean names that I heard 4,5 years ago or more, when I could see that they were just in the path of doom, and then years later they vanished. But it would never me perfect.

I just rewatched Joo's audition and I still think she's lipsyncing most of it, but anyway, I won't crucify her for that. Actually I kind of liked the beginning, maybe I was too harsh, just not the rest, I think she could do a dance theatre oriented that could show her skills more, to be very honest, But my opinion is just one between others of course. The trot singer was an example for me that can sing well but I couldn't see debuting in an idol group which is based more in a feeling than anything else so I could be proven wrong. Jiwon is more of a full package for me.
-
That's the first audition program that I will follow completely and I'll admit I'm watching this for mentors first and foremost but I will give my thoughts and I'm going to be very honest. After the episodes today I thought: So ... That's it? The auditions are done? Am I the only one that didn't find most of the auditions memorable? Most of them either have idol quality but have some basic dancing skills and/or singing which as we all know could work but not my ideal at all.. a couple of them have good singing or dancing but no spark or others I just can't see debuting in an idol group?? For the last one, that singer Joo is a huge example, she has a great sob backstory, but to be very honest, her dancing was basically walking side to side at the stage while lipsynching? The backstories are very interesting (waiting for the subs for the last two episodes so I can grasp it better) and I think that's what the show has going on but I wonder how much they will drag them. I think the girls are slightly better at the moment, but maybe I'm clouded because the only contestant that I was impressed by was the Spica girl. From the boys I like the ones from A.C.E since way back but it would suck for them debut in these audition-program-groups because their group is balanced as it is. Even their audition didn't impress me much because I remember their covers on youtube. The boys from Hotshot I also could see debuting, but their audition for me was enough but still lacking. For me most of the contestants were vocally lacking, and even if they could sing they did it too nasally for my taste. Basically, I felt that the program until now lacks contestants with the "total package" except Spica girl, but that's just my opinion. Are most of these audition programs that aim to make idol groups like this? Mostly decent/average auditions but them turns out to be great in the end? Because I watched some auditions from Broduce when it was happening and most of them were also lackluster and I couldn't go through the program and just followed a few contestants at the side which didn't make through lmfao, but this show obviously had the "new, fresh, trainees" vibe that SK girls ended up loving plus Nuest. The only program that I kind of followed was one season of Kpop Star back in 2012, the one with Lee HI, and it showed the auditions in a similar format to this. I'n really hoping that the next episodes will show the best of the contestants and also show great ones that were cut from the audition part for whatever reason. I'm sorry If I seemed like quite of a downer but I really want this show to do well, and from what I've seen at least people are really watching it which is the most important part. The episode 1 received criticism for allowing trainees. Maybe they didn't show his audition to avoid it again, but that's just a guess. And that would be a lame excuse.

There's also this iconic scene with Lee Jehoon and Yeon Woojin when both were starting out. Then they turned out to be very successful actors. It starts at 2:45 I'm happy that Method is going to be bold. Hopefully it's going to be a good story too! -

The reason why he said that though. Click here to view the Tweet -
I think she made the video showing it more as a curious quote to use in a music video, It wasn't to prove a point or anything. At the end she even emphasized that it's just the general idea of the quote that she finds similar to how she sees this comeback and that it was probably the people responsible for the video setting that choosed it, maybe even randomly, who knows, but I just thought the video was really great in general. And I agree that his quote in that interview matched with some of it.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
RedEggplant replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
I don't know how much of a creative input he has over his concepts/choreos but the fact that Taemin is seen here figuratively drowning in men to the sound of these particular lyrics and then lying on another male dancer at the end is interesting to say the least. Click here to view the Tweet And he will also perform this on music shows, I don't deserve it Waiting for the HD. -
I have a question for the fans who follow him more closely. How much of a creative input does Taemin have? Did he ever talk not only about writing lyrics but also participating in the creation of his concepts? Or did it all come from SM? Because I'm loving the Move concept and how he pulls off flawlessly the androgynous 80's look but it would be a huge plus if he had any part in choosing it himself. Thanks.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
RedEggplant replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
This is exactly why I am skeptical about this actually being a gay storyline or at least not being one of those that baits the hell out of everyone until the end when some tragedy happens. I can count the good unapologetic gay independent korean movies out there in my hands. I think the only one that got somewhat famous was The Handmaiden (lesbian storyline). But there's nothing otherwise indicating that this isn't, in fact, gay. So we'll wait. -

I have no idea who he is but guy on the left has a rainbow written all of him. He seems sweet. Is there any substantial stuff from Youngguk, the other guy you mentioned? I would search him on the thread but his name isn't particularly search friendly to be honest. -

Not much related to the content of the thread, but some members here seem to appreciate bold fashion choices... Starts at 1:08 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT3PYEj-QuQ That's one of the kinkiest outfits in Kpop's recent history. If not the most. Bless, a masterpiece is born. Quick reminder that in some of their MV scenes they're blindfolded and tied to chairs. -

Lol We'll probably never know their sexuality. They're actors, who acted on a drama together that had some hinting that the characters were a couple or at least attracted to each other (but not BL, no kissing or anything, just baiting). Went to live together because they're from the same company, so that would make things easier. Started posting behind the scenes videos from their trips and lives during the filming of the drama and after. Got more famous because of these videos actually and not because of the drama, which received a lukewarm reaction because of the strange plot and ending. Got really close, and some people speculate that they're more than friends because of their natural couply interactions. Regadless of their sexuality or their relationship status, they're very sweet together. That's pretty much it. They also released a single recently, so their company is obviously realizing that they're better off marketing them together. Even with this, there's just too much to be all fake. It's a win-win situation that they got so close. It's been a year now since they first met. Also, I forgot. I've posted this before but while we're still at it, we should notice that one of the things that Leo (Yang Yeming) said to Lucas (Yaowang) at the day they met each other was: "You haven't answered my question yet. Are you straight?" Which got Lucas panicking for a second, until he answered with a trembling "I am, I am straight, right?" and grabbed his phone with a nervous laughter. ........................................ From 0:36 on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVlRXdWmXY0 Eng sub version (from 0:46 on): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnoZTfd4eA8 Since this was apparently the second time he asked he probably wanted to shock him on camera maybe because when he asked the first time off camera all he got was an evasive answer. -

You're better off watching their behind the scenes videos, they called it "TidBits". They don't post as much now, but there's several of them subbed on youtube, just search a bit and you'll find it. I've posted some of them here before. This is my favourite FMV of them: Here's some: Also, they live together. -

I didn't even read the tweet to be honest, was distracted by the video. I've seen Romeo's rendition before. Kangmin has some of the most iconic moments of this thread. I thought for a second that this was a fancam from the show and pd101 was coming for RuPaul. The show is disappointing me in the gay department, save for that couple dance. Their pre debut stuff is where the greatness is.
