  1. Gillis Grafström was the only skater to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals at 1920, 1924 and 1928. The fact that Yuzuru is the only one to win OGMs back to back in men's skating from the modern era (last one was Dick Button in 1952) only shows what a difficult feat he achieved. Maybe some people don't realize that. The other multiple Gold medalist in men's skating did so when people were barely landing triples. That time multiple OGMs were the rule not the exception. (it doesn't diminish what they did, but just showing how skating evolved). Yuzuru also did it in one of the if not the most competitive fields ever, anyone of the top 6 could win it. The media is asking too much of him already mentioning sometimes Beijing 2022. He isn't even sure if he's going to compete there. His plan some years ago was retire after Pyeongchang but now he says that will continue skating, but didn't mention staying for the whole Olympic cycle. I think he may skate one or two seasons and then maybe show up at Worlds at another season or something.
  2. The third most recent post of the friend has the hashtag "We're not gay/This isn't gay" and mentions 'bromance' though. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bfs91Onn90_/?taken-by=joeunhoo_
  3. Lol Click here to view the Tweet From that chinese p101. Zhengting (Jungjung) is the same guy from pd101 that danced with Eunki. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyIHR_lSwuk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bEil3pZ8wM Promoting because he's great.
  4. I started writing this here and couldn't stop. I guess I had to write it only a few days after. It's about my personal life, Jonghyung's death and how it changed the thoughts about my life these few days. This is an odd outlet but If I wrote I might as well post it because I'm too used of keeping everything to myself. It's just very long, tired and personal. I'll put it in spoiler
  5. Click here to view the Tweet I think she also said that he's always cool. She saw his rehearsal. Click here to view the Tweet k
  6. So I found a fanmade "female version" with his voice high pitched and I think it kind of shows my point. Look how at the chorus, the two voices blend better because they are of similar tones, at least for me in this version I tend to focus more on the louder one and this one matches better with the backtrack. The one that started the song fades at the back, because the louder one overpowers it, and the contrast between the two tones become less evident. Maybe they used a female singer for the louder voice at the chorus, or it's his own but just high pitched. If he sung it louder I think the two voices would blend better at the official version. Does this make sense? But somehow I'm getting used to it Lol
  7. I think I get what you're saying. Maybe it's because when the first chorus comes there is 2 or more "voices", I don't know if he is the one that is doing all of them, probably not. At the chorus, I concentrate on the one that is lower and lighter one because it was this one that started the song but it doesn't really fit much with the backtrack because it was the other that was supposed to lead. Bear with my terrible explanation, I hope that it's making sense, sorry Lol I liked much better the other half of the song and towards the end because he sang it much louder. But overall I liked the song, it just isn't a standout and if it was on Move it wouldn't be one of my favourites. I love his hair on the MV though, I was wishing that he was going to perform with lighter hair, but he will probably do it with the black one. I think black hair suits more when he's doing intense songs. Anyway, It also depends on how it will be styled. Looking forward to the other 3 songs! __________________________ About the marriage thing, I think he used to have a different stance on that, maybe a change of personality, some relationship or other reason made him change his thoughts. It's a common thing. I feel the same though. I'm also in my 20s but I've never really thought on marriage and relationships and I don't see it changing anytime soon. I see myself living with my parents until I'm done with college and after that living alone and working. I just say confidently to anyone that i'll never marry and my family couldn't care less Lol I'm lucky. But I've been like that since my teenage years, so they're used to it.
  8. Hello! I've been a casual SHINee fan since 2012. I've never been much involved in fandom matters in Kpop, so I just thought that they were one of my favourites to listen and to watch performances. Plus their Hello Baby was the first idol variety show that I watched it, and that's it. Recently, I stumbled upon Taemin's solo work and I loved it a lot, so I started to give more attention to SHINee as a whole and revisited a lof ot their albums and videos that I used to listen a lot around 2012-2013, when I was much more invested in Kpop. I also listened to Jonghyun's solo work for the first time. But i'm very much confused with the Onew matters because I just generally don't care much for news in Kpop, just for the music and performances, so I'm out of it. But now that I'm getting so much into SHINee, I'm curious. I read this recent Onew letter but it doesn't really add much, I feel like it's more of a damage control type of thing for the fans. I thought that everything was pretty much unsolved but was he confirmed guilty them? What are the recent updates. if there is any? At least in my country, a person who commits something while drunk still has to receive penalty because it's supposed that he/she agreed to respond for the possible consequences once this person decided to drink. Drinking only makes the person unable to receive penalty if there was some type of coercion to drink, or if it is the first time someone is drinking and the person doesn't know that he/she has pathologic high sensibility to alcohol, which isn't the case here. From what I remember, I think that's how it goes here. How is it in Korea?
  9. This short WannaOne reaction Lol They're already done with his strut, I relate. Click here to view the Tweet
  10. Yes, throughout the years that I've watched some performances from MAMA it has always been like this, but I never really cared for that until now k There will be fancams of the reactions eventually, there's no point in wasting showing the performances for 5 seconds of some random idol. I think they did it 3/4 times for Move for whatever reason, one is enough, I can't. Lol For reactions I only found the BTS ones that Mnet uploaded plus variations of this one. and. yes, none for Door.
  11. I thought she did, but now that I watched agin she didn't. Mnet did them dirty. They missed the leg kick, the hand on the chin, the hip rolls, the hip rolls from both of them at the end. All for those audience shots from a mile and reactions that no one cares about during the performance, I can't. I'm dehydrated with the lack of fancams. Hopefully more will get uploaded. Anyway, this reaction of when he shows up in Gashina is hilarious. Chen was dead then suddenly he's living it.
  12. This movie has hints about the relationship between the two male leads even though the director took out from the script the sex scenes between them that were in the book. It's still erotic from beginning to end though, from what I remember, and has incest. You don't have to do mental gymnastics to figure out that the whole movie is about them plus the main girl having threesomes throughout the weekend they spend together. That's an interesting choice Lol Maybe the director of the photoshoot recommended it to him back then. Here are some parts:
  13. I watched one fancam from each performance and I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll reserve my full judgement for when the show airs but most of the vocals were nice and there was a sense of security that I missed with most of the girls. This assuming that these fancams are from the real thing, not the rehearsal. The only one that had the problem that I felt with the some of the girls was the Perfect Man one, they seem kind of out of it and going though the motions. Some of the raps and intro were a bit strange like in Juliette and Heartbeat but that's okay. I survived in Kpop this long anyway. Overall I left with a great first impression from these fancams and looking forward for the next episode. If the girls bring more confidence with their vocals next mission I think that the choice for full on live vocals can actually work somewhat. Monster, Her and Fire left the best "big picture" impression on me, but the vocals on Heartbeat and Juliette were great. Boom boom didn't stand out for me in any department (or maybe the styling just threw me of from the beginning, the costumes from Seventeen were better fitting) I ended up judging all of them lol But I didn't watch all of the members fancam so I probably missed some points Hoping for great camera angles next episode. I just watched some parts of their performances because there's too much time since I last watched them and they do use. They probably had a few where they didn't, but the one you posted has it though. Anyway, what I meant is that live vocals + backtrack is the most common formula in Kpop. They usually don't use it in ballads. There's nothing wrong with that, I think it's actually more reasonable to do it.
  14. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think that going 99% live with these stages was a mistake in terms of marketing. Most of the idols were clearly not prepared. Some of the most "successful" performances, especially the ones full of dance, from survival shows have some kind of backtrack for support with them singing on top of it. I mean, of course, it could help them in the long run to push completely for live vocals even though I'm not that sure of the impact of a few months show in their improvement but, for better showcasing them in the beginning of the show, a backtrack could ease them more and give the performance more polish which was lacking for me. Most of them just looked plain uncomfortable imo. It's not the ideal but I think it's more realistic since all kpop groups perform with a backtrack with at least faint vocals anyway, if they don't choose to lipsynch part of it. I feel that the audience usually enjoys more when there is a well balanced mix of recorded and live vocals in performances when there is dance envolved. Tbh most don't even notice and if there is live vocals they already go their way to say that it is 100% live when it's not. It's the reality that they will encounter and there's nothing wrong with that so why not work with it? To be fair, some of them could do the job and were stable even if they did look uncomfortable. Maybe better than current sucessful idols if they were put in the same situation, who knows. Even if they overexagerated a bit, maybe it was an unconscious choice to compensate for the lack of backtrack and it ended up backfiring. Being honest, overall I think all of them have flaws and some good points, but none gave me a really great overall impression.
  15. There's this translation. Click here to view the Tweet "Sorry this is PD101, not The Unit" I cracked up though Lol Am I terrible?
  16. Gunmin and Benji from B.I.G Lol From 1:29:25 to 1:32:44 http://www.vlive.tv/video/49324?channelCode=F58135 I don't know what they are saying about Taemin and Move though, sorry. I stumbled upon this video by chance.
