I thought it was an awesome write-up. I was really encouraged that there was someone who can lay it out so clearly from disparate source. By the way everyone, I got my album today!!!!! Let me share a few interesting details with you. First in the physical copy, I can clearly see The ZeZe picture and there is no mistaking that he has shorts on contrary to some people's claim that they can't see it. The green that they used for the physical copy is crisp and there is no ambiguity. I wonder why it is so clear here in physical copy. I need to go look at the picture floating around here. This is especially so for the picture that is printed on the cd. Second, I am not sure why but I can clearly see those as legging/hose that very little boys wore way back except instead of uniform color I can imagine it as crisscross/diamond/argyle pattern. Third, remember that weird picture of IU with multiple color shirt with overall and she is up in the tree? Those pictures are for the ZeZe track! I seems like she enacted some of the lyrics directly. It's so sad that none of this was ever brought up. I mean she can't be any more direct than this about ZeZe. :( And lastly that picture of IU that those pann nasties were using to show the Lolita concept? That picture of lipstick smeared IU for the Producer OST track. Considering the origin, I am not surprised that that they decided to go with that concept. Everything lines up so perfectly. How could people go on a witch hunt like this?!? I am super unhappy that they deliberately went out of their way to mislead and start a campaign to ruin someone. I mean I can respect different opinions but this is a deliberate act to mislead and destroy someone's life. Edit: now I see how Tajinyo gained grounds. I am so surprised at how changed Korea is now. Jealousy is human trait but I have never seen get out of control and lead to something like this while I lived there. Or perhaps I was insulated from that culture by my parents.

You're most welcome. Feel free to drop by with anything that you'd like to share with us. Uaenas are a lovely bunch. I think we have an eclectic bunch here. I think we all come from varying backgrounds and various parts of the world.
-
Really? I think he should just join us. Sometimes I feel like he follows IU's activities more than some Uaenas.
-
Gosh ... I guess that's why some of those unknown groups want even antis. Thank you for the news. On a side note, I didn't know notice before that picture I know someone who somewhat resembles that guy in your badge although he is much older than him.

Welcome! In all this mess I think that we may have forgot to greet you. In any case, thank you for posting those tweets then and now. I am truly sorry to hear that you had a hard time recently. Let's all enjoy IU's music and/or drama together.

Maybe You can first try making a thread about what a lolicon is for those who seem to not get it and point out how rampant it is in kpop including top girl groups like GG. Although that may set off some folks. Hmmm. ... Maybe my idea isn't so good either.
-
That would be a shame if it happened although it would be an understandable knee jerk reaction. I think that IU is a resilient girl and she'll bounce back from this with love from family and friends.
-
I think this is just the bandwagon effect for now. I know that there are fans of certain group who would like to use this opportunity to sink IU but I would like to think that reason and logic will return eventually. By the way, NB is like the cancer of kpop.

I agree. Modern Times and Chat-Shire have bumped their way into #2, #1 respectively for exactly the reason that you stated. MT was definitely polished and showcased her voice. I loved the album and the concept that they had going for it. Chat-shire, while not as polished as MT, definitely impressed me for its creativity and lyrics. Overall, CS left a strong impression and it made me anticipate her future as a singer, lyricist, and producer. While IU has to work a lot on the production side, I htink she has a solid grasp of the first two. There's a reason why IU is so appreciated by her seniors and this just showed me that. When I first returned to kpop scene after many years of absence, IU was not the first to catch my attention but she's definitely one of the few who has kept my interest.

Yup. Although I wonder if they'll put it bluntly like he did. By the way, the guy is Prof Chin Jung-kwon of Dongyang University, who is a prominent South Korean cultural critic

I realized that long translation may not have made a lot of sense so I'll copy and paste what I posted on that thread by HugeBoi. "I'll just summarize/paraphrase what a Korean professor had to say on this subject. Like will see like. (All that yapping about fishnet stocks and insisting on their interpretation.) The publisher (who wrote the comment) needs to moderate his watching of porns. To dictate and try to insist one interpretation of literary work in this day and age is a ludicrous statement and can only be made if you're ignorant."

I think any sane, reasonable person can move on after that. These people will nit pick at everything that she will do. She points a finger at the sky - Look she's cursing us; she squints - look she's glarinig at us. How dare she!; IU is making - that greedy, shameless hussy. There will be no satisfying them and I can see how her title song 23 came to be. They just made the point for her that this really is about them. By the way, can we all appreciate how awesome this album is. There is not a song that I did not like out of the Chat-Shire album. Even that critically acclaimed album Last Fantasy did not manage to do that but this one has.

Welcome. I am just so happy that we can start to see the light in this mess. This whole was getting to me too. I mean I woke up 2 hours earlier than I normally do and I'm a person who loves sleep.

Continuing on: First line: Even if you are a merchant, if you sell books for living, at a minimum (you) should be an inkling of (knowledge of) literature, culture, and principles. Just what on earth is this (are you doing) .. Second line: And then to continue on about fishnet stocking this and that. what level of writing. (the next sentence ë 눈엔 ë만 ë³´ì¸ë‹¤ê³ = this is close to the saying of throwing pearls to the swine. it's like (something) will only see (something) like will see like. ah my brain is freezing but I hope you get the gist of it.) Sigh ... exercise some moderation in watching pornos edit: Third line: Even an author knows to politely keep quiet (I think he means to let readers have different interpretation of his/her works freely). You who are not the author but in the business of selling books, what right do you have to tell someone do this or that (Probably about telling IU that she must have permission for freedom of expression) edit: Fourth line: IU Zeze. That a publisher feels that they have the right to/can exclusively dictate the interpretation of literary works in this era is a ludicrous statement that cannot be uttered unless they are ignorant. To bring about standards (enforcement of that strict interpretation) is going even lower than what President Park Geun Hye is trying to do (I'll stop here since I think we get the gist of it)

Ok. Some of these are harder to translate because the the direct word for word translation would be hard to convey the thought behind it. First line: Even if you are a merchant, if you sell books for living, at a minimum (you) should be an inkling of (knowledge of) literature, culture, and principles. (will update more as I get time as I'm being pressed to have something done soon)

Boohooo ... I seem to have run out of up-votes again Anyways, I did not know this until I was digging for information about the book I found this: "To the author, the reason that our life is deprived of love is adult's lack of creativity and feelings" which was actually written "J.M 바스콘셀로르" [J.M. Vasconcelos]. www.aladin.co.kr (in Korean). www.aladin.co.kr. Retrieved 10 August 2015. It's a little ironic given IU's current circumstance and witch hunt by those same folks who claim to have read the book.
-
Yes, I agree that they need to go read the book and actually do their research before they go off and do this esp when she herself mentioned before this whole fiasco started that it involved the viewpoint of the tree and other things.
-
I finally got my up votes back sometime yesterday so I'll be upvotting like crazy today. By the way, I'm glad to see IU keeping her chins up. There is no need to bow down to those losers who are trying to her into a label that she does not want nor have them decide for her what she meant. In any case, I think that Yknok was way off this time.
-
Brilliant. Gave me few good laughs. But it also underscored for me of some of the problematic side of K ent.
-
I think this is too idealistic. This is not just about IU and the lyrics anymore. It now affects everyone she associates including coworkers, friends, and family. While she may be willing to stand up for for herself and take the heat, IU is the type of person who is always considerate of those around her esp her family. I think that while it might have broken her heart to apologize for something that she poured her heart into, she will do it if it is what is best for them. I remember that her grandmother is especially important to her and, if I remember correctly, she is in her 70s and theses types of things are something that she's especially sensitive to. Just my thought.
