  1. Tencent Webnovel First BTS Writing Competition in planning!

    Dear International ARMYs,

Hello everyone! This is my first time greeting ARMYs from all over the world~

I have exciting news to bring to you! But first, let me introduce myself.

I'm Sunny, I've been an army for 4 years. I started to know BTS from 2013's TV programmes. But at that time, I didn't fall in love with them... Later in 2014, I was surprised to listen to their song I Need You again. It was just gorgeous! After that, Dope, Run, Blood Sweat & Tears, I became a big fan of them.

Now, after graduation, I am a content editor under Tencent's international literature website, Webnovel (www.webnovel.com). You might not know my team, but actually, Webnovel has been online for about 2 years, having attracted over 20 million cumulative visitors! Furthermore, there are nearly 30,000 novels being released on our website.

To me, as a big fan of BTS for 4 years, what surprises me the most is seeing nearly a hundred stories on our website related to BTS! This made me suddenly realize that my job can actually spread BTS to more people and make them love this bunch of forever youths!

We have had recurrent big writing competitions at Webnovel, so I have always considered having a writing competition for Kpop and have pushed for BTS to be the main topic and kicked off our first Kpop-related writing competition. Yes, that's the good news I wanted to share with everyone! Webnovel first BTS writing competition is in the works!

The beginning of the writing competition is set to begin in early May 2019. Since there's only 3 months to the 6th year BTS anniversary from now, I hope that it can start before that and be used as a show of support for them. What do you guys think?

In addition, I know that there are actually a lot of nice stories regarding BTS from all the different countries. But due to a language problem, some stories aren't translated, and even if they are, there might be mistakes in the translation. Due to my previous role at my job, I have more than 200 translators from all around the world, so I'm thinking of hiring some of them to translate these awesome stories and provide them for free to everyone. I wonder if anyone is interested?

Anyway, I will update news on the competition with everyone here. It's my first interaction with international ARMYs, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, especially on how it can bring out BTS' charms to the world, I really welcome you. I believe with my years of work experience and my love for BTS, I will be able to make the writing competition a success! Please support my idea to make it a reality!

  2. I ve been reading Army’s first time experience watching the boys live and it’s safe to say that most of us felt the same way after the concert ended. Speechless and just deliriously happy that you cant put it into words. It’s such an amazing experience. You get to see their dorky side on screen but when they are there performing in front of you, you realised that these boys are passionate and professional performers that commands your whole attention.

I can’t wait for the new era to begin and what’s in store for us next week. Hopeful we’ll get something tonight

    So envious...

  3. Hey guys, I need some help finding a specific Crayon Pop video. It was a video where they took turns telling secrets about each other. I think it was Ellin or Way who said that Geummi touches them too much while she's sleeping and Geummi was laughing and said she likes touching people because she used to do massages. Does anyone know where I can find this video?

    Please watch it at

  4. I considered their pre-debut in Japan as the first, but I might be wrong. And I didn't count the korean fans when I said "fans of the world". And YES they are under SONY MUSIC

Yes, you are wrong, they haven't debuted in Japan yet. There are probably a few countries that can rival the number of fans in Japan like Taiwan, China and Thailand, (maybe the USA), but they are all relatively scattered in their own countries.

Crayon Pop is under SONY Entertainment Korea as their distributor for Korea. For Japan, read

  5. I'm don't know if you guys know, but Crayon Pop's debut was in Japan if you think I'm a jerk, you can cuss me :imstupid:  and they are under a label in Japan too (I think is SONY MUSIC), so they have to promote there everytime and there is a lot of japanese fans (if you gather all the fans of the world, they don't compare to the number of Japanese fans). Is like a second home to Crayon Pop and they are really famous in Japan.

About other artists, it depends how famous they are. Some of them only promote in China. Topp Dogg performed in USA, and I don't know if they did well, because I think they aren't known there. Wassup would promote in Brazil, but was canceled because they didn't sell many tickets.

The sad truth is that k-pop is a Niche Market. They only promote where their Companies have higher security to profit

They have never debuted in Japan. The official debut will be 22 July 2015. They have had gigs and mini-concerts/concerts in Japan, but that doesn't mean it's a debut. They will be debuting under label PONY CANYON on the 22 July 2015. They did not have a Japanese label before September 2014.

There aren't that many more Japanese fans in Japan than in Korea, and no, they are not really super famous in Japan.

Also, one needs to know that Crayon Pop falls under Denpa in Japan, and there are obviously competitors in this genre, which itself is a subculture.

  6. I just realised they have the same name in korean (ì‚¬ëž‘ì€ ë¹„ë¥¼ 타고). Any idea if they just happen to have the same name or if they are "unrelated" due to copyright issues?

    AnyWay:

They pretty much just share the same name. The characters and storyline are nothing alike.

The confusion arose because they shared the same name and little proper research was done to ensure that this musical was different from the Singin' in the Rain musical back when the details were announced. This has since been corrected.

  7. That's when you know that the live show isn't as live as it's supposed to be.

The thing about pre-recording is that the group is allowed to record prior to the show's airing, and all the group's fans are let in to support them.

When the show is airing live, they will go up again to perform the song live in front of the audience (made up of many fans from all fandoms). What is aired on TV is however the pre-recording. Usually the 'live-in-front-of-audience' performance will be cut short abruptly since they need to prepare for the next group to appear. This is not the same 'cuts' we are seeing with Crayon Pop where a whole verse or 2 is removed; when I say cut, it means you sing halfway, and the music just cuts mid-song, and you just bow and leave the stage hurriedly.

For the groups without a pre-recording, they are allowed to perform their segment without this abrupt cut, and what the audience sees is aired lived on TV.

  8. They removed the view bots and spam exploits from YT. That's why views are slower.

It happened back in Feb 2014. Considering Uh-ee was after that and still got more than 1million views in 24 hours..I am pretty disappointed.

The next benchmark is Strawberry Milk's 1 million views in 3 days which it seems like it won't meet either. I'm perplexed over the 'poor' results.

  9. Oh. Ok. I like some T-ara songs.

Indeed, it might be a hit for mainstream kpop fans since T-ARA has high quality music due to Shinsadong Tiger. The warning is for Crayon Pop fans who expect a certain style.

But thinking about the competition they will be facing...this song might not be the best thing to use for coming back.

  10. not only do i like what i see but also what i hear. seems like a jam and already better than uh-ee! fucking love it. when will they release the full song/mv??

    My attempt at translating it:

Ahead of the upcoming showcase on the 20th, Crayon Pop revealed the concept and choreo of their new album for the first time in The Korean Defense Daily.

"It's a female warrior concept. Helmets? We didn't wear anything on the head (laughs)." (Gummi) [can't translate the last part but IIUC she basically said they're showing a more strong and mature side while retaining Crayon Pop's unique colors]

(the showcase is 12.30 am so technically it's on the 20th)

  11.

I thought they weren't satisfied with S.Tiger's Song? Does this mean that the comeback is a go?

There was never any indication from us (assuming you got the news from CrayonPop.me) that they were abandoning him or the song he originally wrote. They were not satisfied with it in its original form and probably got it tweaked.

  13. Omo omo omo.. :ahmagah: .they will make their comeback this February with the collaboration with Shinsadong Tiger...

but I'm confuse here. :._.:  What happen to the album that supposedly release last september? They even have a full list of the tracks that will be in the album.. -_- Hwangu being hwangu.. Trolling us as he always used to. :imstupid:

Anyway, it's just time for them to make a comeback and slay everyone.. days feels like years waiting for their arrival.. kekeke  :hurr:

There were supposedly up to 9 new songs. 4 of them went on Strawberry Milk's mini-album. The original title song might have not been up to standards, so a new composer was found to make the title song or the title song has always been the one by Shinsadong Tiger, but required to be tweaked. That leaves about 5-6 new songs at maximum still, which could result in a mini-album.

  14. I'm worried too because I saw Soyul post on her instagram that she was feeling tired right before the recording for DT -- so that's not a good sign for our little hot chili pepper! :._.:  If Soyul wasn't her usual awesome self then hopefully Gummi & Ellin picked up the slack for the team.

Unfortunately, I can't find any fancams or pics from the taping. I think it was a closed taping which sucks since the boy idol sserium that taped a few hours earlier was open to the public. :>_>:  I think Crayon Pop have to be the favorites going in but Dal Shabet & After School might give them a run for their money. There has been a change announced for Dal Shabet too. Woohee was originally on Dal Shabet's team but she's been hospitalized for a collapsed lung (get well Woohee!) & Jiyul has replaced her.

It was an open recording, and open to the public. There were about 100 pop-jussis there. Typically the Crayon Pop fandom will not release any videos (or pictures showing the fights) till after the show has officially broadcasted. This is to ensure the results of the show are not spoiled, which will cause unhappiness to the production crew. It's a reason why Crayon Pop fans are well liked by the Dream Team production crew too.
