  1. Its not longer about western validation, kpop needs the american market. If BTS blows up there then other kpop groups should follow. So sick of China.
  2. Jessica was kicked out of SNSD for being pregnant with Tyler Kwon's child. SM and Jessica both pretended it was Blanc & Eclare to save face. Jessica gave up the baby for adoption. The adoptive parents gave the female baby the name Shinbi which means "true beauty".
  3. When Why Not comes up in my playlist I get so sad bc of what happened. I can't even listen to it.
  4. I wish YG would create another girl group then ship Blackpink to America. Then the new gg could promote in Korea and Blackpink would promote in America. I know it would piss fans off but honestly you have 3/4 of the group who speaks english, they're gorgeous and super popular already and Blinks are pretty active online why not take a chance esp with BTS breaking through? If they target their audience right like female kpop fans and male anime fans they could develop a decent following.
  5. Why do we never see someone that looks like Lee Sung Kyung in American tv/films? Is it seriously the plastic surgery thing? Like asian-americans are too principled to have plastic surgery? I doubt it.
  6. Liberals don't give a damn about North Koreans or the crimes of Kim Jong Un. I mean I dont think most american conservatives do either but at least they aren't apologists for North Korea. Liberals make up every excuse for North Korea bc they hate Trump so much.
  7. What's this "they're only using kpop for clicks/money/etc" that Asian Junkie and others always want out. Yeah no ****, guess what that person serving you that hamburger doesn't actually care you have a nice meal they just say it because its their job. Its called capitalism. Do you really care whether ABC or Billboard or whomever actually gives a **** about BTS or Kpop? Its a transaction, BTS gets something and ABC gets something. I doubt ABC cares about Miley or Bieber either. Its always been about money.
  8. I was watching Music Bank on Twitter last night. Can we just appreciate how awesome that is? I dont often praise the S.Korean government but damn. MuBank goes better with Twitter bc you can read the tweets right next to the video and its a lot more intelligible than the Youtube chat box.
  9. Actually to all those naysayers worrying about western music fans bashing kpop, the world has become so politically correct that white people can't criticise kpop without having "racism" thrown at them. So that basically leaves latino and black fans to bash kpop. And of course politically incorrect trump supporters.
  10. For Makestar one of the rewards should be: "The non-Korean country we get the most donations from we will hold a fanmeeting there". That way Brazilian fans or European fans or Vietnamese fans would be motivated to donate more.
  11. *Multiple more Hollywood men revealed to be rapists, harassers and pedophiles. Smallville actress revealed to be a sex cult leader* Knetz: Well our celebrities are just as bad so....
  12. I kinda wish K-Pop would get popular in America bc I'm so sick of some international disagreement affecting K-Pop when it has f**king nothing to do with them. Like THAAD or the constant friction with Japan. So sick of netizen nationalist boneheads in China and Japan and Korea constantly taking their stupid frustrations out on K-Pop. Being popular in America will bring challenges too (cultural appropriation, etc) but at least its not going to be some national outrage like it always is in China and Japan bc the countries there are so homogenized. I love Chinese and Japanese K-Pop fans but the nationalist idiots there make things so difficult. If K-Pop becomes popular in America then it'll take some pressure off to always be making money in Japan and China and walking on eggshells to not make them mad.
  13. If you're against hate you need to be AGAINST HATE NO MATTER WHO IT IS DIRECTED TOWARDS. There is no "well this group of people's ancestors behaved badly in the past" or "this group of people has all the power in society so its ok" or "its punching up" exception.
  14. Lee Soo Man dressed as the grim reaper from Goblin for Halloween, he has a card with f(x)'s name on it.
  15. I loved the Hana-Sejeong scene. I always thought there was tension bc Sejeong is the most popular member but Hana is the center. I thought it symbolized that friction.
  16. Loona is something a company like SM would do. I'm not sure if its going to work for a small company
  17. I know its impossible but I really hope Loona becomes the female BTS and becomes more popular than Blackpink just to stick it to YG
  18. The mistake people make with Kpop is they judge it solely by the songs and whether the artist wrote their own lyrics as opposed to the company got a professional producer (like Blackeyed Pilsung). K-Pop is about visual presentation, so you have to include the concepts, the music videos, the costumes, the dancing and the personalities. That's what makes idol music so popular. So I get annoyed when people (a lot of koreans do this) act like some stupid garage band or whatever is so popular, I mean they write their songs but so what? They do drugs and have ugly tats and spout off liberal talking points and act they're anti-establishment. (I'm looking at you Feminem). I mean I'm sure there's a lot to appreciate about those kinds of artists like the more meaningful lyrics and talented guitar play or whatever but its not worth the negatives. The problem is many western people (and fans of western culture) have gotten so use to it they accept that bad behavior like trashing hotel rooms or banging groupies every tour stop or acting like a-holes to your fans as typical rock star behavior. Obv its individual preference but I just like the whole package of K-Pop including that all idols generally act nice and proper and professional not like those degenerate rock bands who indulge in every single vice. Its not about religon or being conservative its about liking celebrities to behave a certain way. In western culture when someone is extremely gifted (like basketball or playing the guitar) they are pretty much given free reign as long as they can make money for a company. That's how you get so many celebrity flameout stories. We can judge the crazy standards of K-Pop but at least ex-idols don't end up using drugs and living homeless. K-Pop fans should never apologize for the fact that idols are "manufactured".
  19. I feel like the Beatles comparison is apt. Not in terms of their music but just the archetype of the foreign band going to America when they have a strong cult following (in terms of Americans) but a ton of doubters saying a K-Pop groups can NEVER become popular in America, the same way people doubted The Beatles. Its obviously hard to fathom but a lot of people didn't think this silly british band with goofy haircuts would be big in America (even though they spoke the same language). Obviously BTS has a lot more barriers but they also have a lot of advantages The Beatles didn't, the internet being the biggest.
  20. I'm so sick of South Koreans acting like they live in the worst country in the world, you could be Syria which is having a incredibly bloody Civil War or Somalia or Iraq or Mexico where drug gangs are killing people or Japan with all those earthquakes or China with its lack of freedom or Europe with its migrant and immigration crisis or America where the election has never really ended.
  21. Honestly I'm more nervous about all the new American fans that might jump on the BTS/Kpop bandwagon bc many of them will be SJWs. Honestly I think Kpop right now has a nice balance of non-SJW and SJW fans who keep each other in check. If too many SJW fans join the Kpop fandom it'll ruin that mix and it'll be nonstop "but they're appropriating black culture" comments.
  22. ARMY and EXO-L continue to battle across the SNS site Twitter. Receiving incoming transmission:
