as a korean, i don't understand why koreans love their ballads so much. sung si kyung-type ballad voices sound unpleasant and their voices sound so... sterile. they need grittier im jae bum-type voices in the mainstream korean music world.

as a bts fan, i hope bts don't get their "hit song" for a while. it probably makes me sound like a shitty fan, but i really dislike mainstream korean music taste, and i don't find being number 1 on korean charts to be a compliment or any indication of quality--just as i don't consider itunes or billboard to be an indication of that. i just need them to keep making the music they want, having that "hungry" drive, and staying humble. since they're making enough money, i hope they just keep putting out songs and albums that they are proud of calling their own.
