I spent the night showing my mom, a Korean ajumma, BTS videos. She would point out the members, not by their names, but by their birth dreams (태몽꿈). She was especially impressed with V and JK's dreams, and said that they're destined to do well in life. And she loved how Jimin is so hardworking and was a great student at Busan Arts HS.
When I told her about BTS's meteoric yet bumpy rise, she, of course, tried to turn that into a lecture and a life lesson... "You need to overcome these difficult obstacles in life to achieve anything. BTS didn't have anything handed to them on a silver platter, and that's why their success is even sweeter." And then my dad tried to butt in by saying how corrupt the Korean media is, how I can't believe anything they put out, and how these big companies are wily and manipulative and have their hands in the pockets of politicians. Anyway, an overall pleasant evening that turned a little bitter when I found all this drama on OH/Twitter again.

OMG I love this. I was lamenting the fact that I would probably never see a nostalgic BTS video a la The Strokes' Someday, and the next day i see this.

People need to stop cosplaying as ARMYs just to shit on BTS. The first comment under the Coachella lineup is "we want BTS" and the user, if you look on their account is not a BTS fan, likely an anti based on their retweets. It's so fucking tiring.

Yeah, so many likes yet it's not in the top 10 articles.
Does anyone know how the naver news ranking algorithm works? Because the BTS article has 1000+ comments, 2000+ likes AND it was released after some of the other KBS gayo-related articles, that only have between 200-600 comments and less than a thousand likes. Yet, those articles are ranked higher in the top 10 while the BTS article is ranked #11, not making it to the main page.
