I can't believe after years and years Seohyun's Million quizz is finally getting translated. Thank you to the person who did it! It's dumb to get a bit emo because of that but for years Seohyun's i-fandom was so quiet and discreet, and it was kinda hard to get any "goodies" apart from WGM. I'm just in awe at how big and active the fandom has become. Just as Seohyun grew and thrived, so did the fandom. Also YES DEATH TO THE BANGS.

I agree with everything SeoMania said. November is gonna be packed with comebacks, it's just not a strategic time to debut. She'll get the smallest amount of attention if she's caught in the middle of big, already established names - unless she releases a surprise smash hit, but that's unpredictable so basing decisions on that is foolish. In addition, the build up is just not enough. Moon Lovers ofc helped her get traction and did some good for the youngest part of her fandom, but I really do think she needs to get involved in something with more mass appeal ie a popular variety show. Why settle for the bare minimum in terms of promotion? I just hope Seohyun is strong enough to demand nothing less than the best from SM, because at this point honestly they made it clear that they don't care. They just want to get it over with all these solos of people that are not their favourites: "there, we did give you a solo, now resign so we can milk the group name brand until the ends of time and to hell with your personal ambitions!!" It's not even a smart move from a business point of view but there's what you have. If she does debut this year, of course I will be thrilled and I will do everything I can to support her. As a fan, I will probably enjoy it fully and focus on what she has to show after all these years. But not gonna lie, I'm also gonna look at the results and be super disappointed and bitter if she doesn't do well. This is kpop, marketing does 70% of the job tbh.

I think Yuri and Seohyun being the MCs for this event is considered by SM as a form of promotion. Which is technically true I guess, but still annoying. I hope this is just a taste before the real thing, and not how they think they're gonna build momentum for her. edit: i hate mobile version

I swear to God, the editing is sooo bad like wtf. But I enjoyed Seo's performance in the cuts. She's still a bit stiff and too cautious, but as a fan it's more about watching her progress (at an admirable rate I must say). Hopefully with experience she'll be able to relax a bit. (It would help too if the director was good because I really don't know where he's going with some actors.... But that's another story) I haven't seen the episode and dance yet but from your comments I shouldn't expect too much?? Edit: nevermind I saw the dance. Imo it's not that bad. I read the article and indeed, they're mostly complaining about acting-dols in general. Seohyun delivered: she improved drastically since Passionate Lovers and her sageuk accent is okay (though I had no doubt; girl has been teased nonstop because of her outdated way of talking haha). I'm really proud to be her fan because she always strives to do better and it shows. About the comments on her looks, meh. They can't destroy her like they did with Baekhyun and IU so they have to resort to this. Plus she was smart by taking on a small role. SooYoung and UEE are decent and even good, and they still get flack because of this so called "lacking looks". No wonder why a significant part of the acting industry is average at best, and oftentimes mediocre - horrible actors get away with it thanks to their looks and the marketing around it. Moon Lovers is no exception though. Honestly, I tried to watch it but it's such a borefest imo, my irrational love for Seohyun will be the only thing pushing me to keep on watching it (KNIVES DANCE KNIVES DANCE KNIVES DANCE). Sure, the scenery is beautiful but I have really come to think that's where all the huge budget went to. The editing, pacing and half the cast are messy. Sure, now it's mostly bandwagon hate, but the first episodes were especially of poor quality and you don't get a second chance when it comes to first impressions - the most important thing I guess. So all in all, I hope this will be the last time Seohyun lets SM choose something for her (even though her character is cool, I understand why she loved it). Yes, it's more exposure (esp in China), more popularity and whatnot, but I like to think that more than just an actress, she wants to be a great one. For this to happen, she needs to get involved in better projects, not necessarily with a lot of hype. Just good, well directed and well written projects that don't just cater to the fans like SIMAAF and Moon Lovers. Maybe she could even try an indie movie, idk. I'm just praying for another Introduction to Architecture or Train for Busan that SM doesn't fuck up, because yes, I am forever bitter :'D TL;dr - knives dance and better future projects pls

I can't at people who try to justify and legitimate that garbage ending. Nothing made sense, tons of things Kubo actually promised he would touch on were left forgotten, and let's not even talk about the ships - all of which barely had any development and make no fucking sense whatsoever if you take into account the characters' interactions throughout the manga. But then, again, Bleach has been going downhill for a while, with that last arc being a piss-poor parody of what used to be a good manga. I think the biggest factor in that is that Kubo failed to realise - or forgot - one of the main reasons why Bleach got so popular to begin with: it was Ichigo, Rukia, and their dynamic. Even if they didn't end up together, I can't understand why he let go of that essential aspect of the series, when most of the few last fans were only holding on to it for that reason. Like, for real. People kept on ranting about wanting to go back to the "Substitute shinigami arc" or the "Soul Society" arc. And finally, I just find it dumb that he chose an "happily married with kids" ending à la Naruto when it doesn't even really fit the manga. What Bleach needed was actual closure on - if not everything - most things that were dragging on for years. And we got none of that. If rumors are true that he plans on releasing a "next gen" series, he can shove it up his ass. Who with a sane mind would want that ._. ? My apologies if I sound rude. I'm just completely frustrated because for years, I had been defending this manga, for years I had been telling people to trust Kubo to at least give us a decent ending. Yet he zombie-powdered us hard on this one. No wonder why the Japanese fandom is livid right now tbh.

I knew the backlash would be huge, but to this extent???? Will it really badly affect members with relatively spotless reputations like Y--nA and Seohyun, who in addition have on numerous occasions shown patriotic gestures ? Or will it be another case of "I pity them for being in the same group as xx"? (not that this would be a good thing either, I'm just thinking practical). From what I get from twitter (what an ugly world I've just discovered haha, some kpop fans on twitter are quite something......), what we will say or how we will react matters little. Many of these 'fans' will complain about us no matter what, for the sole fact that we are now voicing our opinions. After all, aren't Seomates supposed to be invisible, just like Seohyun? How dare we make ourselves noticed? Wow, I adore this one!
