fan cafes are irrelevant its obvious they would lose fans with 3 songs people dont like

Its not as irrevelant as it seems. It shows whether your fanbase is growing or not.

Take exo for example. Before their comeback, they had about 40k fans in their fan cafe (maybe even less than that, I'm not 100% sure). Now they have almost 100k and this is all with a fancafe that isn't even legit. It obvious from these numbers that exo's fanbase grew by a substantial amount.

I'm pretty sure that 2NE1 doing the IATB era had over 100k fans in their fan cafe- don't quote me on this but their numbers since then has reduced. Usually the people who are signed up for the fan cafes are the ones who are going to be buying your album smaller you fan cafe number the smaller your album sales.

This a reply to an old comment. Although 2NE1's daum fan cafe numbers has decreased, they still have the second highest fan cafe number for a girl group.

f(x) with their comeback were gained alot of fans on their daum cafe and are still increasing on a daily basis. 2NE1 on the other hand loses a very small percentage of fans on the daum cafe everyday even with their new comeback.

What I think happened with 2NE1's comeback was that they did gain more fans, most noticeable of the male sex but they're still losing more fans than they're gaining and it makes me sad  :C

I kind of agree with you. I mean if dara was going to fix something, she would fix her nose but she never did. I kind of admire her for it because it means she's comfortable in her own skin. She also still has that beauty mark in her leg that I'm pretty sure could have fixed easily.

He lost the chance to milk them like BB. Idk about anyone else but that world tour should have definitely waited. (Not to mention how basic the entire tour was... CL DJ'ed as a solo performance for chrissakes when she could have

ripped up the stage with a good rap like their Nolza concert. And let's not even talk about Bom's basic ass outfit during HER solo performance.) FIL would have probably done a whole lot better as their follow up than a come back for reals.

 

Btw, BB going to the army won't completely affect their status. They'll lose the relevancy they're enjoying ATM but they'll still sell like hell (As long as they bring good music to the tables). Lee Hi didn't do that well with her first album but

she has the type of voice and love from the public that'll get her to shoot back up once she finds the right song again. Epik High is forever relevant to the public, but their last album was just a bit lackluster. "It's Cold" did super well

because it was their original style of music, dunno what made them want to experiment so much with "UP" and "Hate me". The anticipation for PSY's newer releases will be cut in half each time if it sucks. But PSY has always been known for his

super catchy music so as long as he sticks to his origins, he'll do well.

 

Hopefully, his new nugu group will hold on well.

I agree with you about the concert. I pretty sure that FIL and DYLM would have been better received by the public if it was promoted last year and even if it wasn't, blackjacks wouldn't seriously considering that 2NE1 may be disbanding soon. Also because the tour took place so suddenly many fans didn't have enough time to buy the tickets which led to some concert venues not being as full as they could be. IMHO I think the only reason YG had the tour was because he wanted to be able to brag about 2NE1 being the first kpop girl group to have a world tour (if that's what you can call it).

You're also right about Big Bang, Lee Hi, Epik High, Psy and the new boy group. Right now I'm just angry about the constant delays and wanted to take my fustrations out on something.

BTW, I don't hate YG family, I'm just really pissed at YG at the moment.

Call me petty but if yg's decision lead to a further decline of 2NE1, I'm going to be hoping yg falls as well.

Big Bang will be going to the army soon and I don't think the team A or B will be able to obtain the profits that Big Bang was making so early in their career.

All YG will have to fall back on is a nugu group that may or may not be successful, lee hi who isn't even able to make half the revenue of 2NE1, Epik High and Psy whose 15 minutes of fame will eventually come to an end.

I know this may offend some people but I'm sick and tired of YG doing whatever he can to 2NE1's career without feeling the repercussions.

Anyone know what their current daum fancafe numbers are?

 

Last time it was 90k something.

Its about 78k. They haven't really gained any fans with this comeback :/

I had watched the Immortal Song performance and the preview of the Chuseok special but forgot to post updates in the thread about them..  Does anyone know what song they'll be singing at the Chuseok special??

 

On a side note... Just a word of caution,

I noticed that no one had posted anything about chen on immortal song so here are some gifs that I found. Enjoy 

2NE1: i am not 100% enjoying their DYLM perf outfits. are they supposed to be robots/futuristic concept. 

I think they were. I feel as if they'd had a real mv it would have been space themed

Regardless of my biases and as a blackjack, from a musician's point of view, I'd actually still love 2ne1's latest releases. Though both song were danceable, each song were unique on it's own, they give different feels. Regardless of its position in all music charts, I could still say, their songs were different and far more better from other groups which all sounded the same. Individual voices, artistry and musicality of 2NE1 post them to the top, that's why, even they'll lose a million times to a rookie or established group, they would still be remembered as this group who made history of changing the face of korean girl groups, who dont settle for less, who gives off performances that are worth watching for and will leave you in awe, and most importantly, the group who started it all, the weird clothings, the fierce look, women empowerment, and the list goes on.

 

For this, I'm actually looking forward for their remaining 2 songs to be promoted for their new album, the most awaited redemption might not even happen, but as a blackjack,  i couldnt be more excited. Next single? Hit or miss, i'd still definitely, fcukingly love it. This brings me to the point. I love them not because of their achievements and recognition, but on how they deliver a song that would sit on my head, not for weeks, but for lifetime. I love 2ne1, I am a proud blackjack, and I love being one.

 

Sorry for the long post, but I just cant hide this many feels. I just wanted to uplift some down spirited black jacks who were losing they're interest to our queens, as if they're ready to ship and change fandoms. I have nothing against them though. To each his own.
