1.
I really want to take classes and lessons so bad and improve but i have always been scared because my isn't exactly pleasant and i feared that people would wonder why I am taking classes anyways and like judge really badly and ugh

Same, honestly. My voice isn't exactly appealing and I'm scared that people are gonna be super judgemental and tell me that I should just give up.
NO and I mean absolutely NO self respecting teacher would EVER tell a student to give up. Only reason why I could ever see a teacher telling a student to give up is if they student is making absolutely no progress at all, like none, or if it's absolutely futile like wanting to be cardiac surgeon, but you have no hands. Teachers are supposed to teach and encourage, they are supposed to provide you with the tools for you to reach exellency; they are NOT supposed to discourage and only hand out tools to those whom they like. Their job is to teach without judgement. Also putting that aside, you more than likely are paying a voice teacher so I really don't see why they would be like "lol no" when you're paying their phone bill..like..it's financially stupid for them lol. Also, like we always say, tone is SUBJECTIVE just because you think it's gross doesn't mean it's true, hell a THOUSAND people can think it's gross still doesn't make it true. We can be worst enemies don't yours. If you aren't on your own team how can you expect someone else to be?

  2. You should do an analysis on Ariana Grande tbh. I feel like most people here understand that she's not the greatest, but don't understand why. Also, it'd be nice to have the analysis somewhere around so you can throw it at people who compare her to Mariah Carey xD

No we should not lol K-Pop fans are bad enough we really don't need the wrath of an international popstar's fandom in our backyard.

  3. Just to add some light on Jessica's first true live performance of Fly; she actually didn't do too badly. She did pretty well on the Bb4/B4 the vowels definitely helped because they were open vowels but she definitely was supported and significantly more open than in like the audio of Fly. The lower end of the song was also pretty well executed. Only true mishap was 2:53 which is actually understandable. That note is a C#5 on an Oo vowel sound. Now C#5 is not really a high note, but she doesn't support it...sooooo yeah. Also Oo is a terrible vowel to belt on forever and always will be. Of course she went flat and cracked as well, but cracking doesn't mean much, but going flat does. So yeah. Overall she did fine.

  4. Honestly, the majority, if not all of you have no training or little to no training, therefore the voice type that we think you may be or that you think you may be are actually quite primitive and could very much be inaccurate. Therefore it's best to not well...develop some kind of inferiority or superiority based on what you think right. Worry about applying technique instead.

  5. whats the difference of having an extensive mixed voice and stratospheric

I remember Mataytay talking about having an extensive mixed voice is when you can mix/belt higher than the 'natural limit' of your voice type.

    eg above F#5/G5 for girls

    above C5 for tenors

    above G#4/A4 for baritones

Like all/most baritones should be able to hit G4/G#4 right?

You're overthinking it because it's not that real. It's an exaggeration, a hyperbole one might say. It's not really a thing. It's just a word you use when you wanna say something is high.

    Who is Mataytay?

So I hear your lead vocalist spot was taken..how was that?

  6. Okay I'll do strict vocal rest until I'm better  :ohbi:  I'm still not very good I wouldn't want to damage my instrument before I even start a career  :derp:

I'm not like a doctor so yeah, but yeah, I feel do extensive singing with a sore throat is not smart..it's like walking on a sprained ankle without like a brace or something..

  7. Is one of these Jimin :derp:

//somewhat off topic: I'm like really sick and have a sore throat. Should I completely avoid vocal practice or is it alright to do gentle exercises :derp: Also I hit a G2 for the first time in my life just now :ahmagah: My voice usually disappears at B2 :rlytearpls:

Well it's really not healthy to vocalize with a sore throat because the folds aren't in their best condition so you can risk damage and prolonged soreness. So take it easy and conserve.

  8. Can someone define Stratospheric in regards to vocals?

quick question, how much of yall think im straight lol

Stratospheric means very high so for girls belting above like G5 or head voice above C6. For guys.. baritones is like belting above like F and for tenors like belting above like A4

I'm nipping this conversation in the bud right now. Stop.
