  1. In relation to the BL drama possibly trying to play off Taekook, I really hope that isn't the case. I know BL drama's are problematic to start with and usually written with straight female fans in mind but it's at least some media being produced that shows LGBT characters. I keep hoping that it'll continue to move in a more authentic direction. It'd be a big red flag if they're basing it off shipping culture because that's so deeply rooted in homophobia and fetishization...and sometimes sexism.
  2. You posted a theory about a bl drama being connected to Taekook and ended the post with a smiley face. You didn't criticize or talk about exploitation of the ship, your tone was a positive one. And we're not basing this on the conversation in another thread, we're basing this on your post here and issue with it.
  3. Except that was not the context in which you shared it.
  4. Because you said it yourself, it's a popular ship and there is an overlap of the actor. That has zero to do with Tae, Jungkook or their sexualities. Unless you were sharing it to show how they people making the new drama are exploiting a popular ship and possibly fetishizing gay relationships...I don't see how it's relevant to this thread.
  5. The point about the kiss between Hobi and Tae was the fact it was random and a "consequence" for losing the game (which is an entire other discussion I don't feel like getting into right now). The kiss itself isn't really proof of anything on it's own. Now, one could discuss how that might have impacted Tae if he did have a crush on Hobi at the time (which is a fairly popular speculation) but the kiss itself isn't evidence of anything because it was a scripted moment on a scripted show. And making comments that "they're being fed scraps on purpose" is very condescending and does nothing to help further the conversation about it. It just fuels the hostility between the different "shippers" (for a lack of a better word) on this thread. Even your comments on Yoongi and Tae seem like you're trying to discredit my comment about speculating about them (bringing up BH pushing them as a unit, countering the speculation that they've recently got closer by saying they've always been close). And don't get me wrong, I know a number of the people who speculated here about Tae and Yoongi in the past were equally condescending and felt like they were superior. It's honestly a major issue with BTS because people get competitive about proving their "ship" correct.
  6. A few quick thoughts: Speculation that members within a group may share an attraction or be in a relationship isn't delusional. I imagine it happens in the same way that actors end up dating people who they've worked with or co-workers dating. So noticing and speculating is fairly normal. But please remember that all receipts aren't the same. Yes, anything that comes from an official source need to be taken with a grain of salt but some people can't tell the difference between a moment in a scripted show (the forced kiss between Tae and Hobi, for example) and moments that are accidentally caught in the background of another shot. Or how some companies will specifically edit away certain events or moments in official video (which I find the most eyebrow raising). And the biggest issue I've noticed here is people acting superior about who they think is in a relationship. Looking down on other's who disagree with your speculation, acting like they are ignorant or ignoring facts, isn't a great look and is shitty. Knock it off, none of us actually know shit at the end of the day so certain people here need to get off their high horse. And to clarify, there is a difference between saying "I'm convinced they're together" and truly believing they're dating and trying to force that belief onto others. For example, I firmly believe that Jonghyun and Key were in a relationship and that Key has been pretty damn transparent about that. It would take something major to personally convince me they weren't romantically involved. However, I also know not everyone agrees with me on that and I'm ok with that. We all have our own reasons for our beliefs. As far as the BTS thing goes, I find Yoongi and Taehyung suspicious. I wouldn't be shocked if there was something going on there but with BTS...there is a lot of control over their image by both their fans and their companies. Reality is we actually know very, very little about them. Hell, look at the way the fans still try to cover up and hide Jungkook's tattoos to the point that you can't even post pictures of them without people losing their mind. Any real shit is gonna get buried real fast.
  7. I think the "I'm still me" could be in reference to the reaction fans have had to him growing up (drinking, tattoos, etc.) and maybe connected to his sexuality but I think it's a big stretch to say it def is.
  8. Just caught up and calling out fetishizing shippers doesn't mean someone is straight, gay, etc. It simply means they don't want people to force the fantasy that they're banging their friend onto them. Like reminder but these responses are usually to fans who directly comment on their ship to the idols themselves. It's not like Tae went searching to find it.
  9. FYI the new HYYH notes are disappointing for those of you following the yoonkook story line. Only one referenced it. In general these notes felt weird and disjointed from previous sets
  10. it mostly still exists for people who want more specific stats on the music they're listening to. Especially with most people switching from itunes to spotify and no longer seeing how many times they've listened to a song. It's interesting to see how music taste changes over time.
  11. The only reason they're still around is the majority of there fans are between 10 and 14. Most of their older fans have jumped ship on them. It's why if you go to Jake's twitter page he's promoting the idea that schools don't teach you anything you need in real life and to pay $150 for their course that will teach you stuff you need to know. That isn't a product you aim at adults or even high schoolers. Give it a few more years and they'll be complete has-beens.
  12. Honestly, from what I've seen the majority of videos are fake but the people spreading them don't care because it's getting them clicks and views. Such as someone fainting in the street (year old video) and saying it was someone who died from the virus. Or the video of several kids being put into one body bag (was years old and from carbon dioxide poisoning). Someone posted the original source of the video but the twitter user continued to share and promote the video as recent. Or they're misrepresenting the situation. There was a video going around of people singing out their windows in quarantine. Someone posted it as "people screaming for help" and people ran with it.
  13. Take the videos on twitter with a HUGE grain of salt. There are a lot that are old, from other situations, etc. that people are saying are from this virus and people are passing them off due to the hysteria around this virus.
  14. Really? The notes are the last thing I’d give up.
  15. Aren’t mp3s with vinyl pretty standard?
  16. Anyone shocked at the photobook being a different quality after seeing the dimensions were larger than all previous photobooks but having the same price point was being naive af. Considering everything that comes in this (which is more than previous albums) and the $25 price point here...it's a fair price for the amount of stuff included.
  17. I find it interesting that so many of the people that BTS has made the choice to collab with are part of the LGBT community. I also wanna know how much Jungkook freaked out over Troye doing a song for them.
  18. Yea, reality is BTS would probably be able to survive a member or two coming out. It just comes down to whether or not they want to seriously damage their Korean fanbase and position as ambassadors for the country.
  19. Did you read the article that gave those numbers? The majority of people who are infected have very mild symptoms or not even showing them. It's arguably one of the reasons this spread so quickly, people didn't realize that they were sick. No one citing those numbers are actively claiming 100,000 people are deathly ill. Those number include people who are having very mild cases, similar to how the flu ranges from mild to severe. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/jan/26/coronavirus-could-infect-100000-globally-experts-warn
  20. This isn't great but for some perspective 8,200 people have died from flu this season and 140,000 hospitalized in the United States.
  21. The nomination didn't need to be current year, just within the past. Demi has been nominated for a grammy and therefore qualified. BTS has not yet had a grammy nomination (No, the nom for album cover does not count because the artist was nominated, not BTS)
  22. Management ARMYs are so embarrassing. Especially the ones who trash on any collab and make fun of the artists they picked to collab with. I had to log off twitter because I saw a bunch of tweets making fun of Lil Nas X. Most embarrassing is probably the fans complaining about the industry being racist but making fun of Lil Nas for all the collabs and calling the song a meme. Because it's so transparent they only follow new involving their favs and didn't realize those collabs started with Billy Ray Cryus as a way to fight the racist way the industry was treating the success of that song and not recognizing it's success.
  23. I've seen some speculation that he is going back to Germany because he violated the restraining order by trying to contact Nayeon through Chaeyoung. He didn't just leak her number but asked people to message her and direct her to his account. Theres also a twitter a lot of people speculate is him (it only tweets when he's active, only follows and defends him). They're posting on how Chaeyoung was being malicious and needs to delete her IG post. I'm lowkey worried about Chaeyoung at this point.
  24. Realistically, we don't know whether any idol wants to stay in Korea or move aboard. I could see fans responding really negatively to an any of them moving out of the country. In the same way we don't know their actual opinions on military service or whether they want to enlist because any other than "I am proud and want to do this" is seen as a major negative. Same way support of the LGBT community exists on this very thin line and how it varies between local and international events/interviews.
  25. I mean, I think BTS has more creative control then a lot of groups (especially certain members) but bringing up the initial fan perception of Black Swan (fans praising and crediting the members) vs reality (they weren't involved in the production and were shown it after completion) was a good reminder that crafted images, fan perceptions and marketing all play a huge role in the industry. Back when that VLive happened, I commented that Taehyung must have been really hurt and upset about his song being denied because he was pretty blunt in his criticism of the producer. He wanted the existence of that song known and for everyone to know exactly why it wasn't being released and honestly, I'm assuming BH was not happy about it. Edit: instead of clowning me, please reply and say what was ridiculous or incorrect about my post
