  1. He definitely has evidence outside of Jonghyun but their interactions is still a pretty major source of evidence (especially if you believe they were in a relationship). I used to talk about Key frequently here prior to everything but it's harder now and I rarely talk about him because it opens old wounds.
  2. It blows my mind that people out there think Key is straight but it also kinda makes sense for newer fans. So much of the "evidence" around Key is connected to Jonghyun and I think that is still an open wound for a lot of people so it doesn't get talked about frequently anymore.
  3. I have a user sending me transphobic memes (one of which comes from a reddit group dedicated to mocking trans activists) in a dm conversation where we discussed trans rights. What exactly are the rules about this? The memes intentionally misgender them, present trans women as sexual predators and and present them as being ugly/gross. She is also referring to the gay thread as "filthy" because her transphobic posts got deleted. Thank you
  4. Since Key is basically out of the military now, what do you guys expect? I'm curious how open he is gonna be now that his time in the military is done.
  5. Honestly, I'm just amused that they're banning shipping when it's fan created but you know the official content will be full of it. I honestly think it's less about preventing shipping and more about preventing explicitly sexual shipping.
  6. Is there a way to ban people from this thread because they're not even pretending to not be transphobic. They're screaming it at this point and that has to violate some rules of this thread. It's really tragic because I honestly feel like this is probably the root of some deep seated self hatred and internalized homophobia. It always seems like the people who are biphobic and transphobic are the same ones who will go to bat for the straights. They want to be an exception and get that heterosexual approval. Edit: Thank you to whoever delete those vile posts.
  7. Well this is new. Didn't realize butterflies had become code for gay But it's probably because Jimin has a dance to the song Butterfly so clearly this must be code or some other crazy shipper bs.
  8. 1. Heterosexual is a sexuality, not a type of relationship. Describing every relationship between opposite sex partners as a "heterosexual relationships" is dated and encourages bierasure. 2. The world can also be sexist, racist & homophobic. It doesn't mean we excuse those things and participate in them. 3. It's not at all recent, especially depending on where you live in the world. And it doesn't need to involve sex, which was your original argument. 4. Wow this transphobia ain't a cute look. (To clarify: you are stating a trans man and cis man dating is a heterosexual relationship because...vagina?) 5. Heterosexual means you are only attracted to the opposite sex. A bisexual man can have sex with a women, it doesn't make him heterosexual. Again, see biphobic/bi-erasure. If you actually are part of the LGBT community you really need to educate yourself because you are saying some really bigoted things here. Edit: Honestly I was gonna let this go but I feel like this has really crossed a line involving with their statements about bisexuals, pansexuals and trans men. Biphobia and transphobia shouldn't have a place in this thread.
  9. The fact they're getting likes for this internalized homophobia, bi-erasure, heteronormative bs.....
  10. 1. You can be dating someone of the opposite sex, that doesn't mean you are heterosexual. Therefore, someone could have a mom and dad but still not have two straight parents. One or both could identify as bi or pan for example. 2. Rarity doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You still made an assumption that their parents were straight. That's heteronormative. 3. You can have a child without having sex. Sperm donations, invitro, etc. Those are acts that don't involve two members of the opposite sex having sex. 4. There have also been situations where trans men have given birth while in a gay relationship because they are pre-op. Same for trans women if they are in a lesbian relationship and pre-op. 5. You can have sex with the opposite gender and still not be heterosexual. Really, this term "heterosexual relationship" you are throwing around is nonsense and used by people who try to invalidate and erase bi and pan sexualities..
  11. Do you show up at pride parades and ask "but what about the cis straight people?" Also, that's a pretty big assumption that their parents are straight. This is clearly a case of bi-erasure and ignoring gay & lesbian couples who have had children. Not all parents are straight, not all babies are the result of sex, etc. Not to mention parents who came out later in life but had married young and had children. Their children was the result of sex with the opposite gender, not of their heterosexuality.
  12. Why are you so invested in convincing people that Jungkook is straight in a thread about which idols people think are lgbt? Say you disagree and move on. For example, someone could go into any group's fan thread and start responding about why they don't think the group is talented or that they're overrated. They could even make these statements "respectfully" but it would still be a jerk move since that isn't the intention of the thread. Edit: And y'all straight-ass shippers who tend to show up, you can clown me if you want. It shows who is on the thread, names are recognizable as people who don't post here *and* your profiles are public.
  13. It's really uncomfortable how much people try to argue an idol is straight in here sometimes. The intention of this thread is to speculate who is gay/bi/etc and obviously we're not all going to agree on that. At the end of the day, it's all speculation. There isn't an issue with saying you disagree or find an idol straight but seeing PARAGRAPHS of arguments about why one HAS to be straight...it's not okay. The intent of this thread isn't to convince people that an idol isn't part of the LGBT community. The rest of this site does a pretty good job of that. The last time this trend of arguing an idol is straight started, it ended with homophobic mods locking this thread and all mention of minors being banned.
  14. I can't even imagine a scenario where an idol would be open about their relationships, even the het idols. LBR, the majority of kpop idol relationships are probably secret from the company until it gets super serious.
  15. I think it's probably fairly common for dating or hook ups to occur between both queer and het couples. As far as them being kids who trained together...look at how often Disney or Nick stars dated or hooked up within that small pool (usually with co-stars). Or any sitcom or show that had a primarily teen cast (Brady Bunch, Saved by the Bell, etc.). I'd argue Disney & Nick have just as strong of a control over their stars as KPop companies do. It's honestly less about controlling their actual actions and more about controlling the image. This isn't about fantasizing about fanfic troupes. It's just a realistic observation about how people tend to met their significant other. Maybe stop connecting any queer relationship back to the fetishization of it.
  16. Honestly, I think the arguments that there are "easier" or "less risky" options really only goes so far. People make dumb decisions about who they get involved with all the time cause our hearts are dumb. I think the best comparison would be to actors & actresses in Hollywood. It's super common they end up dating someone within the industry, including people who work behind the scenes on set. But there are a lot who end up dating or hooking up with co-stars during filming and I'm sure there are WAY more than we'll ever know. It's the dumb/risky choice but it happens. I'm sure the same thing happens with idols.
  17. I don't think a company would actively push a couple who was dating irl just because that could end badly when they split up. That said, I also don't think they would say no fanservice if it was one where that was already normal. I imagine they would want to keep the status quo (and that's assuming the members would be open about dating, which I imagine they wouldn't in most cases). I agree with your second point. Dating someone you work with in general isn't always the smartest choice because of what could happen if the relationship ended but it happens ALL the time. I just looked it up and about 10-20% of people met their significant other at work. That number is higher when you look at people who eventually get married (around 1 in 4). Considering KPop idols work AND live together...I imagine dating in the industry is far more common than what we officially know and that goes for queer and het couples.
  18. I've really curious what will happen once he leaves the military. For a long time I saw him as coming out but honestly, I'm not sure now. With the songs, his note and the way he talks about Jonghyun...if Key came out, it would also be outing Jonghyun in a way because it would be hard to see their relationship as anything but romantic. Right now there is some plausible denial. Edit: I find it curious why this is getting downvotes because I said I could see him not publicly coming out because it could indirectly out another individual who now no longer has any say.
  19. I know i'm late but why is every time Taehyung mentions wanting kids we got people coming out of the woodwork to declare that means he's straight or will marry a women. This is some heteronormative bs.
  20. Why are we discussing whether or not an idol went to a bar? Since it wasn't specifically a gay bar, it isn't relevant to this thread. If you wanna discuss it make your own thread. Also please stop calling it a straight bar. That isn't a thing and sets the tone that queer people don't frequent there. Calling it a straight bar is antiquated and not the same as being more specific when describing the type of bar (gay bar, western bar, whiskey lounge, dive bar, etc.) .
  21. Jonghyun. Now and forever.
  22. They've been discussed a decent amount here and I know they have a decent amount of suspicious moments. Especially on Yoongi's side. I'm curious, cause I wouldn't be shocked if there is more suspicious stuff out there, but I also know there is a lot of shipping stuff surrounding them as well.
