HI FAM! I haven't posted on here in months... but I wanted a safe place to spazz. 

I'm so excited for their first Daesang! They boys have accomplished so much over the years. They've worked their butts off since before they debuted. People have doubted BTS, hated BTS, and more. But they've gotten through all of that to this moment. 

I'm more emotional than when they got their first music show win! Here's hoping we do well at MAMA! 

Congrats to BTS! Congrats to ARMY! We've all worked hard.

The definitely said casual clothes (went back just to make sure). I would've liked to see a casual clothes stage, but they still looked cute. 

Part of me wonders if they're trying to be less manly/sexy and go for a younger sort of concept? Maybe in the next album?

Who knows. 

I wonder if they'll keep up the TV appearances between now and they're next comeback. I hope so!

ASTRO are finding their own identity guys..

Their true selves and form that smell ASTRO even at first glance. Although some AROHAs love their current concept and some don't. I hope we still can come together and support ASTRO. They need it.

 

as for me. I love ASTRO being different than stereotype groups of past 2-3 years. Their concept and songs are pretty much the same with one another. meanwhile ASTRO, they already have their own sound since beginning. Still, I admit that I'm curious how ASTRO will pull a much more hardcore concept. but there's time for everything.

I'd agree with that. Some groups have been around for years and are still trying to find their own thing. 

ASTRO stands out a lot  right now. They're one of the few groups that can pull off that concept without it seeming too extra or weird. But their song lyrics have meaning and aren't just generic. (So happy that Jin and Minhyuk work on the raps themselves.)

That said, I do see them evolving significantly (since they won't be kids forever). I think "My Style" is a peek at that. 

No matter what they do, I'm excited to see them grow. I think they've got the talent to really wow people and do incredible things.

I'm new here --- well, I joined last month but I rarely post, and I usually only post in GFriend's related thread since I'm a Buddy --- but I've actually been paying attention to Astro since they HIDE&SEEK era because I stumbled upon their song Puss in Boots, before they debut, and I like that song. That's why I was lowkey paying attention to them. 

 

When their debut MV come out, well, so glad I didn't missed them for these obvious reasons: 1) They're all hella cute. Damn. Moonbin is that cute-but-kinda-rude type tho, and Rocky also. 2) Their song is catchy~ (curently humming SUMGAPPA YAPPAPPA BARABWABWA~)...

 

So, I think I'm slowly turning into an Aroha ...... when I'm eligible I also planned to have their badge. So, yeah. 

Welcome! It's a slippery slope... but you definitely won't regret becoming an AROHA.

I'm not the biggest fan. I only ever watch it when I really like the people on it. It will definitely be interesting with Seungjun and Inseong!

Seungjun is going to be a special MC on The Show, July 12th. Boy is he popular all of the sudden!

What an early bird he is! (He posted this a couple of hours ago, so 5am KST.) He just says, "Have a good breakfast everyone."

 

Trust me, I'm just as surprised as you are lol... If these people are creating huge issues that draw negative attention out of nothing, spreading(and celebrating- based on the comment below) false rumors, and bringing down a member to make their bias look good, what's the difference between them and an anti? It's the same behavior, and they do just as much damage to the group's image (though they don't seem to realize). I don't know, tbh. It's not a norm in k-fandoms to accept these people as 'fans', so I guess I'm just really surprised that somewhat seems to be the case here. When something along the lines of what Miss_Aeolous mentioned below is caught, it usually causes huge in-fandom wars in K-communities

 

 

 

 

 

 

K-fans would consider that as Akgae behavior, especially the 'community/forum who posted a nasty rumor' bit. You can't really force people to stan whoever, so Member-only fans or N-member fans are seen as no big deal. Kinda have to accept their preferences haha (though as an all-fan I have a hard time understanding them too lol), but once they start actively hating on or bashing other members, they're considered Akgaes. And since it seems like you guys know why they're hating on RM, they seem to be doing just that.(and personal opinion but, the reasons listed don't seem warranted and/or exclusive to Rapmon to generate such hate on him specifically). But yeah, all in all, I agree with what you guys said. Maybe it's because I mainly lurk here and the BTS subreddit, I didn't realize before, but it's just really unfortunate and surprising tbh :(

I've definitely seen more akgae fans of BTS than in the past, but still, when comparing to other groups, we don't have that many, which i'm thankful for. I feel like most people I speak to are at least fans of OT7, even if they do have one or two biases that they like most.

 

Unfortunately, the few we have are can be quite vocal and what is especially sad is that most people them  tend to target RM and occasionally JH - which is tragic because both of them are so integral to BTS' identity. BTS would never be who or where they are without all the members, but RM in particular because he was the heart and soul of the group  and he's the reason BTS even exists, and JH is such a good balance between hyung line and maknae line that I think their interactions would be very different if he wasn't in the group (even if we don't consider his spectacular dancing, JH is AMAZING)

 

Moral of the story: love OT7! BTS isn't BTS without everyone - they all contribute in their own ways, and add their own flavor to the group. Akgae fans will forever be trash, and don't let their negativity bring you down!

That almost sounds like Akgae-status to me :/. (Akgae: Member-only fans or N-member fans that bash other members). Kfans consider Akgaes to be just as bad as antis, so I guess that's why I'm suprised that it seems to be just accepted (or the norm) here? It's stupid not to realize that bashing other members will only tarnish the image of the very group your bias is in. Even reasonable Member-only fans know this. Especially if we're talking about RM, because no matter how important you think your bias is to the group, RM will always be the face of BTS to the public (and this is coming from someone whose bias is another member).

Also if you can defend the other members, you can easily defend RM too. Especially since he's been most vocal about how open-minded he is about these issues and you have Mot (another celebrity, who's not just a blind fangirl/boy, or someone associated with BigHit) offering receipts to the public about RM's character. This has unexpectedly turned into an opportunity to shed some good light on RM to the public for a change, and I find it verrry suprising that fans, of all people, would see it as anything but.

BTS doesnt need a scapegoat because 'all' of them are wrongfully being labeled as something they're not, so they're 'all' easily just as defendable without a scapegoat, and this includes RM. If you feel the need to put down another member to make your bias look better, you're nothing but an Akgae. Honestly, I think fans should be able to call out other fans(?) about things like this. If this was the fandom atmosphere in K-communities, in-fandom wars would've already broken out left and right...

 

Reading this makes me sad beyond belief. Maybe it's because I don't have a bias (but even if I did) I can't imagine putting all of the blame all of the time on one member. 

I remember one of the first stories I ever heard about BTS was some "scandal" involving Namjoon. I couldn't believe the hate he got from non fans and even people claiming to be fans. (I thought the hate was unjustifiable and I wasn't even ARMY at the time.) And that always seems to be the case. Sure the other boys have gotten a share of "scandals" and hate, But I think it is worse for Namjoon because he's the leader. He's the voice of BTS. Thankfully, his reactions are always about reflection and improvement. And his responses are extremely mature. Moreso than I'd expect from someone so young. 

I don't understand how someone could like one of the boys and not the others. I don't want to speak for others, but I feel like most people who have a bias in BTS still like BTS as a unit, not just their bias. Isn't that their strength, really? But to genuinely dislike the other members while only liking one is something I just don't get. 

I made this cute little badges to show how hard was doing BTS badges, because BTS are kings of derp faces . It was hard to find good official photo and impossible to use SS from videos.
