Thanks! I'm on the lookout for substantive BTS interviews so I appreciate it. I love the pics of the boys' new offices! So happy for them. RM seems to be so into retro styles. And yes, the rug is chic. Plus the NYC poster: what a softie. And books. I just hope he has some lights in there; I don't want him to strain his eyes. Self, you're a noona, not his grandma.

Behold: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCmL-2K2aGI And I enjoyed reading everything else you wrote. I think we can all relate. Don't forget that it's still very hard to make it in the arts; everyone has their own path. @Crina: I'm all about Community so those kinds of gifs thrill me. Thanks for all of those examples of RM's leadership skills. Warms my cold, dead heart. So RM is studying a recording of their performance in that picture where he has a sticker on his head (ha!)? I'd never seen that before and I love it.

I seriously appreciate it. Sharing is caring. ARMY is really a family; a weird, but supportive family. We can't actually fight over these guys so we might as well help one another out. So feel free to spill over there. Ahem. I live vicariously through that thread for now. I don't think they even got into specifics even though I asked for them; it was more about really general RM bashing, like he'd hit their dog or something. It was weird. Suga has a very old school leadership style, which a lot of people think is the only way to do things. I read a literal interview with BTS where the guys were like, yeah, that doesn't work for us. It was hilarious; like a group therapy session. And as I argued, I don't think Suga would even want to be leader, i.e. management. He'd rather be working on music and frankly, I do think it's a sacrifice of RM's time, but it's also crucial for the group. The Suga stan basically saw RM as weak in comparison, which 1) ha. you don't have to be ordering people around all the time to be strong 2) all we have to see are results. you can't judge these things based on friggin Bangtan Bombs. I think that person would say that Tablo wasn't an actual hip hop artist until a certain point in his career (whenever that is). I'm no expert, but I think being a hip hop artist just requires the right intentions, soul, stage presence, and credibility. Respect and love for the genre are also important. I was intrigued the first time I heard RM's flow, but I was sold on the rap line's love for the genre when I heard Hip Hop Lover (my favorite song). Yes, it's simplistic, but in the most beautiful, honest way--a way that often requires youth, that much-derided quality. You can also tell that RM and S are born writers and storytellers with something to say, regardless of their age and where they are in their progress. I agree that there's still a lot of room (and even need) for growth, but I think RM and S at least hit all of the important benchmarks to at least be deemed hip hop artists (even if they don't still consider BTS a hip hop group). I'm also going to take Spin Magazine's word over this person's, you know? Never mind RM's well-respected hip hop collaborators and some impressed YouTube reactors. Ha. I know I'm preaching to the choir; I just have a lot of rants I've been needing to get out. What also bothers me is that what this EH stan was saying seemed to be in complete opposition to EH's open-minded stance on hip hop, which was a contradiction that didn't get.

I read something somewhere where this white K-Pop fangirl's boyfriend allowed her to call him oppa in bed. Was that here? I don't remember. 'Twas fabulous. Do you, boo. I've been on the brink of exploring the fan fics for a while. That 18+ thread is too much. There was this really hot one about RM and a girl just nonchalantly posted in a comment--probably in a spoiler over there; it was beyond rude.

OK, OK, I'm sold. I'm still not over that time that he solved that Mensa logic problem in seconds. I mean, that was real right? It was so weird because my friends and I tried doing that exact problem once and I was completely stumped. That was so hot. Wait, how did we get in the 18+ thread? Ahem. To be honest, I do think you're right about RM's looks. His height, broad chest, and more severe look attract more respect and help his stage presence, even if it also means that he isn't one of the most popular members bc he isn't a pretty boy (no hate, love my pretty boys). That grown look is one of the things that appeals to me the most about him, probably bc I'm old as hell. And you're right, his voice is part of that package. Combined with his adult content lyrics...he (and S) kill me. It's a reason why I get so frustrated with the boyish looks on RM. It doesn't work; screw your fancy concepts (ha). RM's face...his eyes make him look like the sexy villain who takes all of your attention away from the hero, while his mouth and dimples are classically studly. It's a killer combo. He has to admit that girls are obsessed with him now, right? I wouldn't believe otherwise, even if his fanbase isn't the size of Tae's. But more than his looks, I think that his discipline and initiative combined with his warmth and sensitivity are what make him such a good leader (probably). He seems honest but diplomatic and really concerned with people's feelings. He probably overthinks situations, but at least he thinks. Suga's style is different (as is Jin's and Hobi's probably), but the combo of all of these is probably a key to BTS' success. Yes, I overthink all of this. I'm an RM stan; what do you expect?

You know a lot of the BTS boys would be at shows all the time if their schedules permitted (like American pop artists. *throws shade*). I want to go to concerts with RM, Suga, and Tae. That would be such a blast. Suga silently judging the opening acts...I'd drink it up. K-Pop artists like F(x) have been going to SXSW. Maybe BTS will get a chance to festivals like that someday. I've been saying that I'd like them to incorporate more indie sounds and that could be their ticket. But then, I think K-Pop is kind of lumped in with indie music in the United States, which is hysterical. Senpai needs to notice BTS. Could you imagine how much they could learn from them? Tablo be like, you think you've had it bad with netizens? I had to hole myself up in my home bc I was being harassed about friggin college transcripts. Speaking of those, Tablo and RM have so much in common intellectually. Come on, Tablo, notice your mini-me. Maybe he has, but yeah, a collab would be awesome. I mean, RM's collabed with MFBTY; he's def worthy. I actually like FB and BBB but I don't think G-Dragon is reaching his potential with Big Bang. He's one of my lesser biases and I think he's resting on his creative laurels. I hope RM/S always stay hungry. (It's really awkward because when I say RM, I usually mean Suga as well. Suga is really my co-UB, but we're kind of "it's complicated" on Facebook right now. Yes, I've gotten pretty serious about this whole K-Pop thing. If YG lets Winner fail, I will cut a bitch. I don't feel the same way about them that I feel about BTS, but I adore every second of their music. They're already some of my fave musicians ever and they pretty much just started (apart from that hiatus, whatever that was). And this whole thing with Minzy? 2NE1 is what got me into K-Pop really, and YG seemed to fail 2NE1 in so many ways (though I will credit them for producing some of my favorite MVs ever). Yeah, YG is on notice basically. Watch out, Big Hit is here, and is doing hip hop better than you have been in a lot of ways. I'd kill to see what happens behind the scenes really. He has to mediate between BTS and BH. He's said that he has to be the scapegoat when things go wrong (at least that's his side of the story). He has to lead hyungs, some of whom have given him grief for it (ahem, Suga). That being said, I think they function really well with RM as leader and Suga as his right-hand man (in some cases, not all. I think Jin and Hobi have their roles too). I literally had an argument with some Suga obsessive on YouTube about why these roles work better than if Suga was leader (again, I'm a Suga stan saying this). S/he eventually conceded because I know how to debate, but you can't believe the things s/he was saying about RM's leadership style when none of us *really* know. I mean, the guy has lead his group from a small company to being the 3rd biggest boy group in K-Pop (I think) at 21. That's insane. Ugh, it's so hot when Leader RM is spilling the beans about what really goes down behind the scenes (while SM guy is like yeah, what he said). And then there's this Epik High stan who refused to call RM and Suga hip hop artists because they aren't old enough, therefore they haven't experienced enough in life. They said that their verses aren't as narratively complex as EH's, therefore they can't even be called hip hop artists yet. ...um. Okay. So condescending.

Hi! They're all hot and awesome; let's be honest. I still haven't watched Problematic Men. I'm not as into the idol TV stuff but I really should get around to some of the best content, esp if RM is involved. I heard his styling was really good on that show, which makes me overjoyed. I really do love fashion; I'm also way too opinionated about it so we'll see how much I share. The first preppy Namjoon look that comes to mind is that light blue button-up outfit he wore, but I'm sure you've seen that. It's another of my favorite looks of his. Preppy isn't my very favorite style but it's so flattering on him and he made the look sleek and modern. There's also his Just One Day look. Ha. That MV always reminds me of Boyz II Men in the best way. Those boys give cardigans swag.

Cool. I just had another thought. I really wish I could go to see Epik High at Coachella with Rap Mon since they're performing. :-( That would be so Dope. I've been trying to learn more about Epik High since they're such big on influences on the rap line, and they seem like really good role models. I just haven't had the time to go through all of their lyric translations yet. Friggin international fan problems. One of the interviews they did about hip hop in K-Pop was so RM/BTS-relevant. I'll have to check out those Just Music artists; never heard of them. I like how you guys recommend songs on here sometimes like RM does. I really like DEAN and especially love Winner. Can't help stanning Mino; friggin' sexy low-voiced rappers kill me. And yep, Ravi's one in VIXX. That VIXX LR sub-unit slays (like Mino/Taehyun does). I'd love to see any of those people collabing with RM/BTS. It's so weird that you say that about BB. Like it is for most people, BB was one of the first K-Pop groups that I started to delve into and I also think their solo work is especially good. I'm not sure BB really functions that well as a group; I prefer GD's solo work to everything else probably. One more thing: I'd always stanned RM but that interview he did with the leader of EXO about being a leader of a boy group put my respect for him over the top. It's such a fascinating insight into how boy groups function. I wasn't sure how much responsibility leaders have, but it's definitely more than just a title. The interview was also very telling in regards to how differently SM and Big Hit function. I'm so glad RM/BTS are with Big Hit.

Thanks for the reply! I have a question. I'm new to this site. Do we need to keep the topic specifically to Namjoon here or can we discuss non-Namjoon related K-Pop stuff here if we want to discuss it with Namjoon stans? Does that make any sense? I was interested in people's boy group bias lists, the reasons behind them, and thoughts on Big Bang but I won't ask if that's too off-topic. I don't want to distract from His Majesty. But to get back on topic, wow. Those pics you just posted are painfully good. I have a thing for buzzed haircuts, baseball caps on K-Pop guys, glasses like those, turtlenecks (well, certain ones on certain people), and even men's shoulder bags. That's probably one of my favorite looks of his ever. I think I need a minute. He looks so sharp rocking those neutrals.

You guys seem cool and smart so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm clearly RapMon trash or I wouldn't be here, so nice to meet you. I've been lurking like a creeper, found this intro, and wanted to fill it out myself. 1) How/When did Namjoonie become your BTS bias? BTS' Dope was my first K-Pop video period (can we all agree that Psy doesn't count?). The first thing I saw was RM asking me if I was new to BTS. He was my ultimate bias as soon as I saw him rap; I just didn't know it yet. I've delved much further into K-Pop since then (this all happened only a few months ago), but BTS is still my UB group, and the rap line is a big part of the reason why. 2) What are your top Monie ships? If you don't ship, who do you like seeing him with the most? RM and Suga are my forever brOTPs, but they don't seem to interact much so I don't have much to work with. I still don't know what's going on there. Sigh. I also love the hyung/dongsaeng bond between RM and Tae. 3) What solo activities do you want to see Noodlebae pursue in the future? A solo side career with Suga producing or a sub-unit of the two of them. A book of poetry if RM has writing that he'd consider more suitable for a book than a recording. But I humbly request an English translation for the record. 4) Which era did RM rock the most? Anything involving blond hair off of his forehead, preferably in one of those updos that probably takes a long time to do. I also think he rocks guyliner, whether or not he likes it. I guess I like high-maintenance RM. Sorry bout it. His personal style? That's another story... 5) What's your favorite solo track by Rap Papi? I really don't know how to choose between Do You, Life, Drifting, and Too Much. So I won't. 6) What's your least favorite solo track by Rap Papi? Fantastic or something pre-debut, I assume. Is this where I can admit that I think Trouble is pretty awesome? Well I just did. 7) What's your favorite Nams verse in a BTS track? I'm not absolutely positive without going through the discography, but it's probably his verse in Hip Hop Lover. That's my favorite BTS song partly because of what it probably means to the rap line. 8) If you could wish one thing for Dimple Mon in the future, what would it be? Creative fulfillment 9) If you could recommend one artist for Joon to listen to, who would it be? One of my bias groups, Pentatonix. :-) An American acappella group is completely different from BTS, but I think he'd be pretty intrigued by their arrangements, dynamics, professionalism and success. 10) On a scale of 1-10 how thirsty are you for our one and only Pocket Monster? To infinity...and beyond! If anyone actually gets around to reading this, I have a question. Do the rest of the BTS members sing that final refrain in Believe from his mixtape? Thanks.
