I read the Korean fan account of the Be Mine perf. They were actually more praised for their chemistry and balance than talent (one of the vocalists was sick and you got my bias Park Sungwoo who was F) which resulted to really good teamwork in their perf. In short, they brought out each other's charms sort of perf probably like how the less popular Growl girls did last season.

Like you mentioned it's gonna be about editing. I really doubt all of them were that terrible as well as some of them might be Kim Junas or Kang Siwons (they're actually good, but the Pick Me song can't showcase their strength)

So is this like how ITNW Somi's group was called the Avengers by the trainees? I thought the Avenger group trainees thought about was the one doing Boy in Luv (which apparently had a voice crack moment)

Wasn't there a fan account though which concluded that there was also a REAL AVENGERS team? The one group who did Be Mine?

But nearly all the hyped (whether it was good or bad publicity) trainees from Season 1, regardless of their ranking, got screentime. I know people like to pick up the "MNet is evil and will push their faves" narrative but you also have to remember, MNet is a business. They'll go where the ratings are. Their fave will be whoever draws in the ratings. Even if you're hyped or even pushed by them, but don't draw in interest, they will drop you (remember last season how Kim Taeha was so hyped since she was Junsu's cousin? Yeah). Multiple F people were featured (not only Sohye) and a lot of them improved as well: Ariyoshi Risa (they even kept repeating certain scenes of her) and that musical theatre girl but in the end Sohye got all those screentime in further episodes since there was a lot of discussion about her. Like I said, the greatest attribute you could have in P101 is being a magnetic person, someone with a lot of presence that the camera or audience just. can't. ignore. you. even. if. they. tried. Nearly all IOI members had this quality regardless of visuals or skills which is why the group achieved so much in such a short span of time. Aside from Park Jihoon, Joo Haknyeon, and Bae Jinyoung, I'm starting to see other trainees do have this quality as well (Takada Kenta, I'm looking at you).

General public (which is seemingly his main audience/support) seems not to be as invested with all the fan stuff and might rather vote for him once the official voting starts instead.

Just stating my observations as well as I was watching last season as well. Just like how his story could change once broadcast begins, the same can be said for other trainees whose charms haven't come out yet. But one thing I doubt will change: the instant stan attractors (those who don't have to do anything and naturally attract attention without extra screentime, predebut hype, celeb friends or come from a known agency) will definitely just get more popular unless they get evil editing. Even Moon Bok doesn't really fall under this category as he had predebut hype from the viral meme. The only people who seem to have this down are Park Ji Hoon (for winking), Joo Hak Nyeon (for being cute), Bae Jinyoung (he seems to just attract people) and Park Sungwoo (for tiptoe-ing before people discovered he's 30 years old). I'm not even being bias because I'm only stanning Park Sungwoo out of all those mentioned and I'm really supporting Daehwi (I have a thing for English speaking K-Pop idols). It's either that or they're super talented with enormous amounts of stage presence that they'll steal the thunder during the performances. Regardless, this always only works until the next stage perf but stan attractors are the natural winners of the format of P101.

I never said that as both votes are equal - but with a TV show that does concert evaluations and guerrilla events in Korea, this relegates the hype of certain trainees. For example, a trainee may have a really strong online vote due to i-fans but when they do hi 5 events, they might end up being Cathy-ed

lmao Chanmi really got the short end of the stick but frankly, I don't think she has much star factor either. like girl I know you're so dedicated to this, but I just don't see her being a huge idol. she should probably look into being a K-Pop trainER herself since she has the skills.

I find it oddly fascinating how i-fans are so supportive of Samuel but if you read Korean portals, he doesn't seem that strong fandom-wise despite the Carat support? There are other candidates who seem to be stronger with i-fans like Kenta and Ong Seungwoo, heck even Daehwi seems to have a stronger i-fan backbone. Daehwi seems hyped only because of the center position but Korea isn't stanning him yet, he's completely overshadowed by Jihoon at this point. The game for Produce is to have rabid stans (like Sohye) who are borderline akgae, because if people just 'like' or 'know' you, then you'll mostly drop dramatically when rules change (one trainee per user vote). It's strange people are correlating Daehwi with Yoojung. Looking back, Yoojung always had that endearing cute little sister you wanna protect vibe which cemented her fandom but Daehwi needs to secure some sort of image to endear himself more as the center privilege really wears off once broadcast begins. Also unlike Yoojung last year, Daehwi's center performance wasn't met with positive reactions, more of indifference (like, people saw he's good and that's it). On the other hand, Park Jihoon and even Kang Daniel received those types of reactions. With the way things are going Daehwi seems to be going through the Jeon Soyeon route, very likeable and very talented but easily overshadowed by stan attractors.

He used to take classes at the Winners Dance School (where SNSD Hyoyeon and Miss A Min trained) so they do recitals every now and then and there's a video of his performance online

I also think fans were quick to assume he was almost without skill because he himself mentions about it and he's in F but I honestly don't think so. I saw his dancing, he should at least be Chaeyeon level performance wise. Not very good but certainly not an Ariyoshi Risa. But yeah! He's super popular in Korea, one of the more hyped trainees. I actually want him to get in because I feel he'll make a great hyung/leader if he gets into the final group.

I actually kinda feel bad for NuEst. That list will shuffle tremendously once voting gets into the phase where you can only choose one member. By then, the fandom will need to decide on who to pool votes for because if they don't the odds are high none of the boys will get in.

Korean fans calling Sungwoo 치발 (chibal) or a more fond term ì¹˜ë°œì´ (chibali) but I'm not sure why lol. He's super popular amongst Korean fans which is why I'm surprised he isn't as big in the OH P101 main thread. Anyway this part of the fan account mentions how Sungwoo and Youngmin's relationship seem to be quite reminiscent of Sejeong and Sohye's in Season 1 (probably the Irony part in the first mission where Sohye can't follow at all but Sejeong eagerly guided her) so I guess we'll see an amazing hyungjae bromance between them.
