  1. TBH I'm low key hoping the members of the winning group would be people like Hansol or those who don't have groups to go back to...so they could possibly lengthen the project group's time together.
  2. And just like that, TRL is now following BTS on Twitter (the MTV EMA account followed them and they;re already mutuals with the official MTV Twitter tho) Click here to view the Tweet
  3. I tuned in to BBC Radio 1 and tweeted as well lol As an OG K-Pop stan, I can't believe I now live in a time where K-Pop songs get played in many parts of the world outside Asia
  4. Re: thread being co-ed Isn't there also a chance for one of the final groups to be co-ed too. It's better to have one huge collective discussion imho.
  5. Happy birthday! <3 If Outro: Her and the Highlight Reels are any indication, the next album will definitely shift to a darker tone. It's the plot twist part, so I feel we might be a bit shocked with the sounds they'll play around with in the next installment. I wonder if it's going to be as polarizing as Her as well... I would totally love it if BTS tries to play around with rock elements too. Yeah, or maybe they should choose a buzz single instead of the intro. Or just release the title track ahead of everything. I meant global promos, by releasing an MV for it and having radio stations/iTunes/Spotify focus on that one song before album release. --- My friend who was a long-time ARMY just mentioned a pretty interesting statement to me when we were chatting. She feels Best of Me gives off a Save Me vibe wherein as a BTS fan, she didn't really know how she thought of the song when she first heard it on the album. But for some reason, every non K-Pop fan she knows seemed to like BoM the most, and she just said it reminded her of how Save Me was received by her non K-Pop fan friends. For her the turning point of Save Me was when the MV was released and she saw the choreo. Now it's her favorite. This just made me think what a gamechanger it could possibly be if BoM will be bestowed an MV.
  6. Make the intro the single lol Some of my fave BTS songs that converted me were Nevermind, Boy Meets Evil and a lot of people jumped in the BTS ship with Serendipity so...
  7. For some reason I would like the analogy like HYYH = Love Yourself wherein the whole era is made up of minis and compilations? Then for the next full album we get, it's gonna be like Wings again wherein they switch things up thematically and there's a sudden change in universe but still somehow connected to HYYH (in this case, the full album will be what it is to LY) wherein we get a new set of solos again. I don't know, I just really like how they turned the knob on from the youthful HYYH to Victorian imagery Wings all of a sudden. Would be fascinating to see something like this again tbh, though some fans are speculating the last installment for LY will be èµ·(the beginning - the one they skipped) and that will be the full album. So if their theories turn out to be true, it becomes 3 minis, no compilation, 1 full album for the Love Yourself era. The whole focusing on one single thing will also help them chart in the Hot 100. The boys have said their aim is now Top 50...that's a spot difficult to get into if you aren't even mainstream in the slightest. They need to adjust some of their methods if they really want to meet that goal by 2018 (as per Suga's statement during the Sinchon fanmeet).
  8. I know I'll be emotionally invested in someone and my feelings will go through torturous episodes once again but I'm back. Better warn y'all I make longass essays.
  9. At this point I'm not really sure with BTS and Big Hit tbh - I honestly don't think they're really THAT serious in pursuing the US market (probably just wanna monetize tf out of it, but not really establish themselves there) but I am also beginning to see hints in Namjoon that he is somehow getting swayed in wanting to try? Like it seems their main purpose is to cater to the fandom already built in place but the fandom and their recognition just gets bigger in the US and even established publications/media outlets have kept citing them. I won't be surprised if they're more on a wait and see mode regarding such issues instead of having a concrete plan on what to do. They're on unchartered territory after all and they have no precedent to gain guidance from. TBH, it's more likely that other companies are looking at Big Hit now and see what they will do with this momentum. It's like being stuck in raging waters - do you take that risk and try to maximize it or play it safe and ensure safety for everyone? The thing about momentums is that you can't take it back once it's gone but pursuing it is a huge gamble as well. I've always gotten a hint that Bang PD is pretty ambitious from his interviews, and the current response to Her have for sure made the operations and marketing team at Big Hit go through long discussions this week lol. I actually feel K-Pop missed some really good momentums in trying to break into the US: when T**yang released Eyes, Nose, Lips...that song would creep its way up Hot 100 if Scooter Braun backed it up. Because tbh if I were Big Hit I would try experimenting dropping a single/MV days before the full album reveal. Example: dropping Serendipity MV, releasing it as a single & promoting the heck out of it globally for two weeks before the full album drop. I really hope they try this technique in at least one of the LY releases. Sorry I rambled.
  10. We're getting hints they're nearly done with finalizing the songs for the upcoming mini (check their fancafe posts, statements in interviews...it takes some reading between the lines) What I'm guessing is that we'll get the next comeback early next year (most likely right after awards season - I'm predicting mid/late January or really early February at the latest) and they'll most likely use the BBMA hype (hopefully there is once again and it's not a one-off thing for BTS) in 2018 to drum up interest for the thiird installment of the album (which might be June). I think the Love Yourself series might actually have 5 installments - 4 minis, one special compilation and their goal to conclude the era by 2018 so I feel there will be heaps of new music next year and we'll see more contribution creation-wise from vocal line too. It's really interesting because Jin tends to be overlooked songwriting-wise by a lot of people, but most muggles I know found Awake very impactful. He might be a diamond in the rough tbh.
  11. If things go to plan, I feel BTS performing during the Billboard Music Awards in 2018 is pretty much set in stone as long as nothing goes wrong till May. They've been hinting on that in Billboard podcasts, pretty interesting.
