A Hobi stan was chatting with me last night and we were talking about Hobi repeatedly using the "mask" as a concept (Outro: Her, BT21) and he keeps implying there will come a day wherein we will see Mang behind the mask. She was telling me that Hobi's mixtape aka the Hixtape might end being more earth-shattering than Agust D's. She told me her intuition says Hobi's mixtape will be him "officially" taking off the mask. Especially with Hobi's "I'm Your Hope" image (though the members have said before that J-Hope is more serious behind the scenes & was even gloomy as a trainee), imagine what kind of lyrics we'll see when the mixtape drops (and people were already shook at his verse for Outro: Her)

ARMYs realized the power of streaming on Spotify and Youtube on the Hot 100 after the results were out and are aiming to keep BTS hanging a bit more in the chart for another week. If you notice, BTS rose in Spotify as well after the Hot 100 #67 results were out.

I was just chatting with my cousin and I wanted to share a bit of our talk here. She's in the US and is by no any means a K-Pop fan but has been following BTS recently once it was reported they were charting in the Hot 100. My cousin is into the whole music scene and all that, but we're also Asian so as an Asian in the US doing music, she's all for Asian representation. She just told me that she's finding it fascinating that the radio stations are starting to play BTS because they charted in the Hot 100, when it's usually the other way around - radios play you SO you chart in the Hot 100. She's also surprised that DNA is slowly being added in rotations. She knew the song was going to get airplay because radio stations want that social media engagement, but she was sure it would be just a one-off thing for novelty especially since the song isn't in English but she's legit shook they're starting to get played multiple times this week alone...and for a non-English song that's NOT viral, she finds this pretty legendary. She told me US radio stations simply don't play non-English songs unless it's viral, features a huge US artist or is backed up by a gigantic US label. Many other acts who are huge in their own countries (she gives Thalia and Agnes Monica as examples) struggle to even get this traction, but BTS are doing it without even stepping into America for this comeback. She's bewildered af lol.

The question is if they're going to promote Best of Me in Korea though... Also another thing to consider: be end of promotions, it just means the music show cycles. Probably means this music show cycle is ending, but the chance of a Best of Me MV is still very real lol.

The plot twist here though is that apparently she found out that was her own room and her friend put that up But she met a lot of UCLA ARMYs thanks to this vid

As someone who used to dabble in filmmaking, the only glamorous part of the whole process is the premiere/gala nights (and it's not even that glamorous if you're tasked to meet 3598504984 people during the event). I'd imagine it would be worse for idols since they go through stuff like endless rehearsals for stage performances too.

If BTS becomes as huge as BSB in their peak (which I was old enough to witness with full consciousness lmao) then K-Pop is in for a wild ride, folks

TBH I really think having a full week + Spotify playlists + Trending on Youtube + radioplay by monitored stations (albeit pretty small) really helped DNA climbed to 67. We're getting barely of that this week so I'm ok even if it drops for the next charting week - this was a great learning experience for ARMYas we finally know how to strategize our way with the Hot 100. TBH, as long as they release a Best of Me MV I think we could aim for Top 50, we don't really need to wait for the next comeback at this point. As long as they drop the next MV on a Friday (preferably for Best of Me because the inclusion of The Chainsmokers is really helpful when we request it to radio stations and the odds of it being added to a rotational playlist is higher, again due to the CS), I think we got Yoongi's Top 50 in the bag.

I was lurking in another forum and people were saying BTS should ride this momentum of getting to #67 on Hot 100 and drop an MV for Best of Me not too long after because that song will surely get the Youtube and music streams as well as radioplay. Users were discussing it could possibly get into Top 50.

I always take PR statements of Korean entertainment companies with a grain of salt. Been in K-Pop since 2003 and been through many idols. The fact that Big Hit's first article (now pulled out) is that the boys will be working for Chuseok but changed their statements when fans made an outcry about it. They probably wanted to make a PR statement that BTS are such hardworkers they are skipping their holidays but it backfired hence the last minute change. But the fact they released an article like that initially meant plans were already made for Chuseok for work - they cannot suddenly cancel those even if they announce the boys getting a break. Stuff like that cannot be suddenly rescheduled as those cost money, a huge amount. Maybe they will get 2-3 days free for the whole Chuseok holiday (I personally doubt that though) but the first article mentioned they will be doing some CF shoots, MV filming etc so I honestly believe that more. I know Jeon Won made that leak last time about the concept and comeback date, but usually a lot of initial reports tend to be corect with bighit. If you base it on Sea anyway, even the boys seem to want to maximize their current momentum and are really scared of losing it so while I don't agree with it, I won't be surprised if they themselves want to hustle.
