  1. There seems to be a confusion with the general fanbase about the Hot100 radioplay. Seems like many can't tell apart FM stations and internet radio stations.
  2. I feel it is truly arguable to say BTS became popular due to their talents (they are talented, but there are also many K-Pop idols who are just as or even more skilled than them in vocals, dancing, etc), visuals (again, heaps of that in K-Poplandia) or even music (lots of K-Bops, tbh). A lot of this is also very much subject to the taste and preference of someone. But one thing that seems absolute is their team chemistry. I've never seen anything like it in K-Pop. Even during the time I sort of disliked them, I can't deny they have a unique synergy with each other. Not everyone I show BTS to end up stanning them but all of them comment how in sync they seem to be with each other. But here's the catch and what I believe truly separates them from your regular synchronized K-Pop group - BTS have members who are so different from one another. Not only personality-wise (I frankly doubt any of them would have been friends had they not been in one group) but skill-wise. You have the rap line, but each of their rapping has such distinctness from one another, and none of their styles actually overlap. You see this same situation with the dance line as well. Recent eras have been showing the same thing is coming through with the vocal line, and this is one of the ultimate points that really sets BTS apart from your quintessential K-Pop group imho. They're so different and distinct from one another - that in itself is a recipe for disaster in any situation. But by some stroke of miracle (or the boys' willpower), they manage to somehow make those differences work when all 7 guys get together and perform with amazing unity and synergy together, bringing out an amazing fusion of utilizing those differences to come up with a certain energy only BTS can produce in their music and onstage. They manage to turn their own differences into an advantage to produce a certain style only they, as BTS, can do. This is why not all the people I show BTS to would end up stanning them automatically (though a lot of them get intrigued, and eventually spiral into the rabbithole) but one of the first comments I hear from them is how BTS seem to be so in sync with each other or how cohesive they are together. One of my friends even said this, verbatim: "They have this oneness when they perform, I thought 7 people were a lot but now that I see them perform, they make it seem perfect."
  3. The comments section in the BTS DNA MV is at 930k comment count as well. If the video ends up with 3M likes and 1M comments...wow @ that statistics CRAZY.
  4. Mess. I heard this girl was really b*tchy in a recent concert (was it Ariana?) and demanded special treatment. She is pretty mean spirited on SNS too. Girl really gotta pick the same bias as me. Her dad tho...ugh. Don't even get me started. Sis...
  5. This photo is now officially added to my favorites folder. Amazing what two days of rest did to them lol. They look really rejuvenated in the photos of today's fansign. Another angle:
  6. 'We'll be seeing each other again from today" Don't wanna be delulu but I'm so excited for the upcoming concerts...so much content again.
  7. Speaking of this, Billboard just released a discussion with musical experts about the upcoming Grammys They actually talk about BTS's eligibility for Best New Artist starting 6:02, and acknowledge that they're beginning to make an impact. 8. I really feel it's pretty odd, do let me know if that's what you think as well. Whenever the fandom has high expectations (in general, not talking about the times when only few of us do ex, majority of the fandom believed 1M presales was a reach) that's when we don't really get the results we want, but often times when we've resigned to the obvious possibilities (ex: nearly all of us felt it was almost sure BTS can't possibly chart in the Hot 100 for Week 2) that's when we get really surprised
  9. I notice the pleasant surprises only work when ARMYs and/or antis TRULY believe things are not going to happen lmao. The things the fandom hyped up so much like the VMAs, EMAs, etc did not come to fruition lol, but when MT was talking about how BTS never gets a chance to appear on variety shows and aren't expecting any for this cb, they literally got the news for the Comeback Show, Knowing Bros, Lets Eat Dinner all at the same time lol. When fandom thought million presales was a reach and antis thought it was delulu, news came in and it was more then 1M. Basically, BTS themselves are better at predicting stuff (particularly Minstradamus) compared to fandom and antis lmao
  10. My intuition says Big Hit might do more fansigns. If they're in the 800k range they probably wouldn't, but with the numbers being so close, they might just bite the bullet. Probably a good excuse to do a second round of special promos for Go Go and BoM too.
  11. Click here to view the Tweet Pretty interesting to note that the whole BT21 concept was created in January. Wow, that took a long time before they launched it. Seems like it's true that BTS is always one year ahead of plans - no wonder a recent Korean article where they interviewed a Big Hit employee mentioned they've been talking about enlistment plans already even if Jin can wait till 2021 (or even early 2022 if he stretches it) before he needs to go. It's not a perfect company but Big Hit's planning team seems to be one heck of a well oiled machine. I bet their goals till early 2019 are laid out already.... They really wanted that Hot 100 and really strategized ways to let fans know in advance. Of course they've been mentioning Hot 100 since Run era, but back then it was simply in passing but after Wings, they've used a lot of avenues to reiterate that which enabled fans to prepare and learn the mechanisms of Hot 100. The whole Spotify tie up wasn't a coincidence either, someone strategized that the best way to get up there is streaming, but I'm amazed at Big Hit putting in faith that fans will be able to score radioplay (which the fans did, yay). The more time I spend time in this fandom, the more I like the methods use as it feels there are always new goals to strive for, things to look forward to and it doesn't feel stale and repetitive. 12. AFAIK so many people here in the MT are in our late twenties to early thirties when people were asking each other's age a few months back lol I actually find Jungkook already so very young, it makes me wonder how the new Big Hit boy group would be? Would this be filled with late 90-liners and mostly 2000-line kids?
  13. Oh really? It works perfectly fine here in New Zealand lmao. What are the unfortunate countries that can't watch? Korea-wise that perf is going to do really well on Naver TV tho. Either way, Youtube-wise I see it doing well.
  14. Inkigayo knows that Go Go stage gonna get millions of views (and Youtube ad money lmao) as long as their camera work isn't on some wild acid trip
  15. You know what's fascinating? They're doing DNA and Go Go. I know they've been promoting Go Go but I always felt Mic Drop has been more prioritized performance wise, but now that charting numbers, stream numbers and video views are in, seems like Big Hit has been seeing the feedback that Go Go is that song
