Though the irony is even if I myself retweeted that Yoongi meme (it's funny lmao and so Yoongi) about the three chords of CS... BTS have hit songs that also revolve around three chords, those were also the same songs that were huge in Korea: I Need U and Blood, Sweat and Tears

Also I've realized the good side of stuff like this. Publicity is still publicity. Whatever gets the people talking = more attention. More attention means more people will give a listen when they drop the album next week. I've roached Serendipity to a lot of my muggle friends and they adore it. I have so much faith in Bangtan's music. I know most people will like it if they give it a chance. I'm good now. I just get so easily triggered because BTS are obviously really busy now (even Suga implies this in his recent tweet) but they took the time to grace the concert of CS. For many idol groups, the week before a comeback is crucial and hazy, especially one as highly hyped as BTS's - the pressure is a real thing. Fortunately in the midst of ugly comments are also people getting impressed at BTS being friends with overseas celebrities and their rise. It goes both ways, and I should brace myself for more criticisms if ever they become more popular (because let's be honest...the higher you go, the more you get bashed too). Thanks to all those who replied.

Lmao the international fans have been rebutting the salty knetz bashing BTS in that Hyundai Card video online. "I do not know if the translate button is working well for me but all I see is that you are salty" So surprised to see some of the Knetz deleting their posts (some still remain if you check tho) once they get the ifan backlash. One thing that struck me with Serendipity is that it's a sound that appeals both to Koreans and international fans. It's rare to get this balance. Out of all companies, I think only YG was able to achieve this but even their sound has a heavy K-Pop vibe (except for Taey*ng stuff that leans more towards Western). I've always mentioned the whole balancing act of Western and Eastern appeal is a code even Hollywood can't crack and Big Hit might be on to something here musically with what they're learning to develop. If the rest of the album has bops that have this sort of appeal, especially the tracks that get MVS, then this album will be iconic for them and for K-Pop in general. I feel they know it in theory but it won't start sinking in until the promos begin. At that point everything will feel blurry to them, things will happen so fast if the music is good.

I'm almost sure this would be dual MVs again - like Spring Day/Not Today, Fire/Save Me, INU/Dope. Best of Me intrigues me, I feel this is actually a slow jam. More similar to Serendipity. DNA might be the title track and it sounds like a banger. I feel Big Hit is learning how to balance and incorporate stuff into their songs, making it appealing to both East and the West. I feel Best of Me will appeal both to Korea (with the Chainsmokers brand) and overseas. DNA might be the banger that will incorporate the 90s sounds.

Also I'm surprised last night didn't get that much coverage media-wise, so much of the stuff I'm reading are from SNS Bangtan just collabed with one of the biggest Western acts in Korea last night in Seoul. You'd think Korean media would hype the eff out of it lmao. smh

IMHO why don't you just order from Amazon and trade with some Armys in your area in case you got multiple versions of something? Do you have an FB group or something of Armys in your place? Because tbh, every sale an ARMY contributes to BB really helps, especially if you're in the US But if there isn't an organised group of Armys in your area, you can just ensure buying it on iTunes though.

Yes, I've noticed this too. They're trying to go beyond the idol box now. But imho, they aren't simply after the Korean GP, but the global GP now. If what the BB article is hinting about LY: Her being sold in Target plus partnering with The Chainsmokers (who don't have a big fanbase but have huge GP awareness globally) makes me think Big Hit isn't only after a fanbase any longer. They want their music to be heard using whatever means.

Yes it topped among the solos, and it had pretty good longevity too. Here's hoping Serendipity is a legit tease of how the album would be because if it is, then this album will be legendary. That explains why Suga and Rapmon seem very happy about it. The whole Chainsmokers link will help BTS digitally. As much as I disagree with the concept, the Korean GP has prejudice and no interest in idols. They know their names but it stops there. Unless you are Big Bang or to an extent EXO, that's only when they listen to you and even if they do, it's only the title tracks. BST & Spring Day were successful in trying to get BTS that "digital relevancy" but it still isn't cemented. This comeback can be the turning point as all my Korean friends I roached Serendipity to ended up loving the song. The Chainsmokers publicity gives BTS a certain cred in Korea, and if people search for them, they'll mostly be led to Serendipity (if they search this week) or the upcoming title song. I am not sure if Best of Me with CS is public-friendly, but this gives BTS publicity which could be the gateway for a lot of muggles to give them a listen.

Serendipity gives me goosebumps. The entertainment industry in the east and the west have been trying so hard for a long time to create content that appeals to both markets - be it music, movies, but to little avail. When I first heard Serendipity, I felt it achieved that. It has Asian sensibilities but was an earworm enough to stick to a Western audience. If Big Hit somehow manages to unlock a formula for this music-wise...it's going to be legendary for them.

Yup they're 5k away from 8.2 Comebacks usually expedite interest in a certain group. With all the news and hype yesterday, this isn't surprising. What boggles me more is that Jimin's Serendipity trailer is about to hit 18 million by tomorrow and we still have a few days before comeback. The possibility of the trailer hitting 20m by comeback is a real thing. My gut feel says Serendipity might be a surprise digital hit when the album drops next week. Chatting with my Korean friends (who are muggles! don't care about idols) last night and the Chainsmokers news made them search BTS and they're slayed by Serendipity. If that song gets the publicity it deserves, the potential is huge.
