  1. I don't know if this DJ means hear their song (but it's been played already right?) or are the boys guesting? This kind of supports the "see you in New York" comment of Rapmon - this station is in NYC Click here to view the Tweet
  2. There are actually schedules. October 1 - Goyang Fansign October 7 - iHeartRadio livestream I do hope it's a break, though I reckon it won't be the full 10 days.
  3. Some fans are assuming it's for TRL Others are assuming it might be for the MTV EMAs since the official acct for that followed them as well All we know is BTS followed back MTV & at this point they don't really follow back randomly any longer unless something is bubbling.
  4. Seems like the whole MTV speculation is due to this and we know BTS only follow people related to work now Click here to view the Tweet
  5. They can actually experiment with a Friday release if they wanted, but not using their own albums. They have heaps of potential collabs coming up (Halsey, Steve, Charli, Diplo/Major Lazer) and they could experiment a Fri release with a collab single not included in any of BTS albums, but in the release of the other artist they're collaborating with. This allows them to get the exposure w/ the support of the collaborator but also learn to gauge the effect of a Friday release.
  6. ???? Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet Btw I don't think they will go to the EMA because it's going to be on November 12. Asian Artist Awards will be November 15 & I imagine BTS will prioritize AAA especially now they have a shot for a daesang there.
  7. I am almost certain Tae's building some muscle and that caused the gainz. Do you see how broad his chest looks now? Def working out to gain more mass. This is exciting, could this have something to do with the concept of their next comeback? What if the next album's concept is brooding and sexy, and he's gonna do the intro? Okay I'm reaching sorry Probably the surprise is something that benefits US fans more since if the boys get to the Hot 100, it's technically due to the US ARMYs
  8. Already called this on the MT. I usually take Big Hit's statement with a grain of salt especially if there's a different statement prior lmao. I bet they'll be doing MV filming some time during the Chuseok too.
  9. Make it like a raffle - one ID can only buy 5. This is pretty easy to do now with databases. This way you can't have repeat buyers who game it. Also like Korean fansigns, ensure only a fixed date of purchasing the CD counts to qualify. Logistically it isn't as hard because this is pretty basic database. Fansite masters need to fly over during purchase date period if they wanna take a risk, but even so they can only purchase five, that would be easy enough to make it seem too risky for them and would ensure mostly US-based fans are catered to.
  10. I think BTS have alloted time in their schedules wherein they'd spend it in the US. Probably 1-2 weeks of promo. It's pretty obvious, I think the Best of Me theory rings true. If done with Target/Best Buy, a requirement can be the CDs should be bought at the physical stores in person with receipts as proof.
  11. Hot100 counts more streaming tbh. This is why stuff like Harlem Shake and Psy shot up, no one was really buying their singles but it was getting streamed to death. This is why Billboard is notoriously hard - the whole bulk buying schtick K-Pop fandoms rely on (especially those with huge Asian fandoms who even come up with strategies) do not fly in the US. TBH that gift giving project didn't have much of sign ups.And not many people really gifted en masse from what I picked up. Hot 100 relies mainly on how much organic impact a single made (radioplay and streams) so the main deciding factor will be Spotify and Youtube - plus you might have also forgotten that radio play...which BTS actually received (most Hot 100 predictors assumed they had zero radioplay for DNA which could not be further from the truth) also weren't considered. Hopefully, it evens out. If we get in Hot 100, then that's a blessing. If we don't then that's a learning experience not only for the fandom, but for Big Hit and Gramophone as well. Nielsen will also filter out VPN streamings when they count. Which is why a Billboard charting is far more respectable than a Hanteo/Gaon one imho. I sort of believe the theory DNA was more of a test run for Hot 100 and Best of Me is the one that they'll actively push and promote in the US. They're already starting with next week's iHeartRadio interview.
  12. Yeah or even just an interview in general. Also I hope they make the James Corden appearance happen.
  13. Also noticed the airing will be October. I don't know if this will be a Chuseok episode, or they're gearing for more mid-October because if this airs during mid-October it somehow proves that they'll indeed be promoting Best of Me further. Anyway, I've seen some fans mention that all BTS need to do is appear on one popular variety (yes just one!) and they'll blow up that;s why I mentioned it. Sure there are some fans who just want to watch out of entertainment and being fed, but there are also ones who want it because they thought one popular variety guesting can get them Korean Validationâ„¢ This makes me feel sorry for BTS. They're obviously the top boyband in the US fandom-wise right now (CNCO is huge but their US fanbase is nowhere near as BTS) so it seems they suddenly will be thrown the unwanted responsibility of being Asian representation in the entertainment industry. The boys didn't ask for this and I'm unsure if they even know they've been passed this pretty big burden. If they manage to outrank Charice in the BB200, this makes them the Asian artists who ranked the highest in that chart which could put emphasis on this further.
  14. I've got heaps of Korean friends and normally travel there from time to time. It's not true BTS isn't known in Korea, their brand is recognized pretty well it's just that they really aren't the "taste" of the Korean GP. Doesn't make me less triggered everytime my SMTM loving friends say it, but that is one of the reasons why I know unless something drastic happens, Korean validation is something we should just wish and hope for. They have a pretty big fandom there and that should be enough. Contrary to common belief, I don't think it's as easily solvable by appearing regularly and varieties or dramas. The thing with BTS is a lot about their image, music and content simply go against the grain with what Korea expects. Heck this is one of the reasons I also held prejudice for them before giving their discography a chance. The fact that their company isn't very influential makes it doubly harder for them to mediaplay. This is the reason why they get a lot of hate for their stage outfits, lyrics and more. There's a reason why I held the unpopular opinion - Knowing Brothers didn't really excite me that much when it was announced. It was pretty obvious it wasn't the "right" show for them but fans were instigating that it could make them blow up with the Korean public. But for that format of varieties, only certain characters work. IMHO we have take at the bigger picture and lay down what makes BTS really marketable & unique from other groups (so really broad stuff like "they're funny" "they seem really good people" don't count since I can name a hundred other groups that fit that bill) For me: very strong team chemistry & dynamics - most groups with the better bond are those with members who somehow have more or less a sufficient amount of similarities with each other. BTS breaks this stereotype wherein you have 7 boys who couldn't be more different with each other in terms of background and personality, but have tremendous chemistry with each other. That in itself makes them fascinating and have unique synergy: how can people so different from each other like one another so much? the ability to take on any genre of music and turn it into their own sound. A lot of idols do different sorts of trendy sounds but it is only with BTS that I feel they actually twist the whole thing and really stamp their identity on it. They don't adjust to the sound, they make the sound adjust to them. Most members successfully carry an image of duality. For example, Jimin has the soft prince image going for him, yet at the same time he is quite naughty, a tease and even mischievous. Taehyung has an innocent eccentricity to him but can switch it up at a heartbeat and become broodingly sexy. Jungkook has this child-like lost look offstage but turns it up when performing wherein he murders all the fangirls with his explosive charisma. Rap Monster is known as the resident genius & spokesperson but also geeks out from time to time + the occasional clumsiness. This sort of duality layers them as people and draws in fans to them. They're good performers and songwriters, people may not dig their music or their personalities but anyone who has seen any BTS live performance can never say they're bad performers. In fact they perform so well any unlikeable song ends up being a bop. Also, anyone who takes time to pore over their lyrics will say they have it's really, really unique (it may be cringey at times, but they have a style very unique to Bangtan) - not to mention the members have a hand in the song creation. So pretty much you need a show which can showcase those mentioned above if BTS wants to promote themselves well in Korea. It takes more than being funny on a variety, but they need a platform wherein those selling points need to be communicated to the audience. The group dynamics and their personalities show more when there aren't any outside people present so some really good suggestions if BTS wanted to pander to the Korean GP viral, trendy hit Infinite Challenge Music Festival Suga/Rapmon being a producer for Produce 101 BTS Showtime or One Fine Day Happy Together wherein some members can share stories Immortal Song stage by Bangtan (so many GP watch this, it could be a gamechanger once they realize BTS are truly in a league of their own performance wise) Sketchbook Just some ideas. KB was great but I already knew early on that platform wasn't the best for me and after the whole X-Sports debacle, every celebrity will be careful around them. What separates BTS is that they have a bigger international fanbase who probably don't really get how Korean varieties work. Korea knows the whole X-Sports issue and BBMAs were hard carried by international fans. They know the BTS international ARMY is a beast. This reminds me of the peak of TVXQ when ironically, Kang Hodong was playing Danyunhaji with them and commented that every extra minute he is dealing with them, the count of his antis are rising as well. ATRL forum. BTS appeared in the Hot 100 predictions for this week and they use default methodologies so it shouldn't be far off from that. Here's the thread: https://atrl.net/forums/topic/74028-bts-to-chart-on-billboard-200-top-10-surprised/
  15. Since some users here were talking about the possible US/global expansion a couple of pages back, I feel this is good insight in a forum talking about the BB200 and how people were surprised an Asian group is predicted to be Top 10 almost 8 years after Charice. This was posted in a non-Kpop forum and provides good insight why people need to watch out for BTS
  16. At this point it seems like Gramophone is doing things beyond simply being their PR people. Probably because Gramophone is also mid-sized that they can be flexible that they can stand-in as representation, but of course they're no record label...
  17. Speaking of the UK, there are also speculations they might be invited to the MTV EMAs to be held in London. With the UK charting happening, they can possibly use that chance to do the same type of PR rounds they did in the US as well. I am almost sure if they ever step back into New York, that Good Morning America gig is happening since GMA still gives them shout outs from time to time. The recent one was last week when the album dropped. Click here to view the Tweet
  18. I have been hearing discussion from some fans speculating that this might be Big Hit doing a possible dry run just to gauge if BTS could truly enter Hot 100 by this point in their career and how high they could go. The fact they could possibly reach a rank higher than 100 WITHOUT US PROMOTIONS is frankly crazy. I was actually holding out for 96-100 if lucky, so the projections made me wild out - and afaik the projections haven't placed in the radioplay yet amirite? Anyway back to the discussion of the fans, they were assuming this is Big Hit trying to gauge how the US market is responding to them. None of them think DNA will be the actual promoted single in the US - they're betting Best of Me will be the first single that might possibly be pushed next month and both believe it's bound to have an MV since they find it fishy that for a track so publicized and hyped, there's no promo/stage happening for it during this comeback cycle so both are thinking they're going to leverage that single in the US. Both also believe it won't be the last goals BTS/Big Hit are gonna try because once they'd gauge they actually stand a chance to chart in the US, they'd probably amp up promotions there as well while they have the hype going.
  19. More like 26 hours. Oh he did? Was just watching the dance practice and it screams his style. I really think his style of choreo fits the dynamic energy of BTS, regardless of genre.
  20. I'm almost sure Keone's choreography was the Lalala part onwards. It's just his style. Mr Son was responsible for the fancy footwork, jumping and smooth transition/formations
