Official Plastic Surgery Thread
Chouette replied to JessicaRabbit's topic in Celebrity Photos & Videos
I saw some (inetz) comments from Kim Tae Ri's early career predicting she would do something with her face, particularly her "square" jaw, due to the pressure for Korean actresses to look a certain way. To this day I'm still convinced she's one of the few actresses who have had zero procedures, but can anyone verify if she's indeed not done any surgeries? (T/N: the below is the Twitter thread that OP is referring to) "This happened not once or twice. Every time they come out with a new album, they always mimic (J)'s voice and laugh among themselves. The person being attacked is actually ashamed and is paying attention to it so I seriously don't understand what's so funny about it "If someone to mimic a group member and it becomes a trend and that everyone just jumps in to play around, I wouldn't know but Only those 3 are always busy mimicking (J)'s voice" She kept mimicking her voice and even when she grabbed her shoulder, she kept doing it post response: [+472][-173] original post: here 1. [+422, -16] But seriously, it was funny at first but seeing them constantly doing it is a bit.... and if you look at J's expression when the members are copying her, it doesn't look good either 2. [+376, -37] You could've just said that you wished her to be careful. Why sticking the 'April' name behind them? Yoon teases J well but she also takes care of her just as much 3. [+292, -25] Whether it's annoying or not, they know it better themselves... and if they don't have bad intentions and know that it upsets her, they will learn from this, they just need to stop next time... If you don't know the relationship between the two, it's better not to write something like this 4. [+256, -8] But Jayoon is indeed doing it over and over again and it's getting tiringㅋㅋ... 5. [+184, -12] I've fangirled on other girl groups so I know about it and I haven't seen a lot of groups who are as mischievous among themselves... I'm not talking about old groups but I'm taking current groups as reference... usually, they are really considerate of one another with their actions. You don't necessarily need to tease each other to be close. When they are careful around each other's feelings, it might look like they are not close to others but relationships that last long are usually like that 6. [+158, -13] Saying that they are like April is freaking oba. Shim Jayoon should cut it down. I'm fed up seeing them doing it even in an encore video. If they've been doing that for over a year, they should stop now. Also, Bae Soomin is always the one getting hate on Pann but if she's the leader, she should start acting her age a bit;; 7. [+140, -46] Soomin really seems like a fox. She's always the one starting and inciting Yoon translated by pannchoa

Kim Tae Ri went on a hiatus for a while and is pretty selective with her projects so perhaps that's why she hasn't been trending in SK I suppose? I recall a lot of articles/pann posts a few years ago and she often came first in popularity among female fans. I found these two OH threads (though the ranking was done by lesbian fans specifically): [Pannchoa] Lesbians rank their favorite actresses (2016) [Pann Choa] 2018 VERSION OF LESBIAN RANKINGS FOR CELEBRITIES THEY'D LIKE TO DATE (And the 2018 queen of lesbians is...) Anyway Han So Hee is indeed popular, and Park Bo Young is forever on everyone's list

As a fan girl I officially manifest a project starring these four ladies
-
Kim Tae Ri and Han So Hee. To me it's a combination of beauty, charisma, and talent. I just realized I have not missed a single one of these two's projects since their debut because they are so DAMN TALENTED!!! They both radiate very authentic vibes in real life and seem genuinely dedicated to acting. They also give a bit of that idgaf attitude which is so badass and appealing. Both of their latest works are amazing and definitely a joy to watch. Do you like these two actresses? Do you agree that they have a big following among women?
-
They want to avoid types that are stereotyped as "slacker" or "rebel" lmao
-
This is what I imagine an ENTP would say lol (and not this website describes you as a debater) It's unfortunate that MBTI is only popular as far as the 16 personality types go. I personally find the theory of Jungian cognitive functions behind this test so much more fascinating. Helps me understand how I (and sometimes others) make decisions or process my/their worldviews. It's boring to box people in anyway, so I hope we're only doing this for fun and not take it so seriously like some "employers" in SK

"Kids... is there anyone who have heard Lily's Sorry not sorry.. Seriously what's up with this baby's masterful voice?" original post: here 1. No but if Sullyoon is even good at singing, what are we gonna do?! 2. No but the song is crazy hard to sing, but they were able to pull it off 3. Lily is seriously so goodㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But no matter how much I listen to the starting rap, I will enver figure out what's happening 4. Lily is daebakㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 5. They did so well putting Lily in the group, her parts just pierce your ears 6. It's cool that you can tell the kids are confident so they just go for it with their live 7. No but there are no members who aren't good 8. Lily is driving me crazy... 9. Lily is freaking good her voice color is also charming 10. Lily, Haewon and Sullyoon were good as expected but Kyujin and Jiwoo's parts were so hard to pull off live, and they did freaking well. The pitch is high and they need to adjust their voices. I saw them on stage and they're good but everyone here is so good Translated by pannchoa

1. She’s kind and humble 2. She’s quiet 3. She worked hard at her studies 4. But there were lots of times that she dozed off (Yoona apparently has always slept a lot) 5. Before she joined JYP, she was an SM trainee. Rumours that she was an SM trainee spread around school and she was famous as ‘that girl who’s the SM trainee’. That’s when she danced to ‘La Vie en Rose’. (That’s why lots of former SM trainees uploaded posts supporting Yoona on her debut) 6. She was so nice and humble that there were lots of kids who envied her 7. She’s studied Spanish 8. She was the school president inn elementary school 9. She was the vocalist of a band 10. She didn’t leave her class group chat till the last moment and she replied saying she’s really thankful to her classmates’ messages that congratulated her on her debut and said they watched her on YouTube Original Post 1. [+58][-2] If there was a kid like that at my school, I don’t think I would even get jealous of her. But surprisingly it looks like there were a lot of kids who did.. 2. [+50][-4] How come there’s not even one part of her that’s not pretty? 3. [+46][-4] If I have a daughter later, I wouldn’t have a single other desire in the world if she grew up like Sullyoon 4. [+35][-3] Not kids who suddenly got pretty, but kids who have always been pretty throughout their lives seem to be seriously kind. e.g. Yuna, Suzy 5. [+17][-16] There are so many company workers f*ck 6. [+13][-0] She’s seriously so perfect…. 7. [+12][-0] Even if you look at her without a fan’s affection, she’s so f*cking perfect 8. [+11][-0] She just looks exactly like she’d be kind Translated by netizenkore

[enter-talk] THE KIDS WHO LEFT SM WHILE TRAINING VS AESPA
Chouette replied to Chouette's topic in Netizen Nation
You're absolutely right. This pann post is just a poor attempt at using Sullyoon's current hype to diss Ningning/Aespa. -
Taking the debut away from them and debuting Ningning debut? I don't knowㅋㅋ post response: [+319][-41] original post: here 1. [+208, -46] Ha really, every time I see Lami, I realize how much of a f*cking waste it was. Eugene, Yoona, Krystal Sulli, Irene, I thought the genealogy would stay but they stopped at Irene 2. [+183, -47] Let's see, the only ones who hit big was Aespa 3. [+174, -7] Are you guys bashing Aespa as a whole? Why are you guys like that? 4. [+157, -76] People say that this is Winter's line? Bullsh*tㅋㅋㅋ 5. [+148, -62] It's indeed a shame 6. [+36, -0] Sullyoon and Lamiㅜ Kyah they're so pretty Trans: pannchoa

Article: Lee Chaeyoung's two cats have gone missing after adoption... shelter lodges lawsuit Source: Wikitree via Instagram Lee Chaeyoung adopted two abandoned kittens with the promise that she'll provide updates on them once every 3 months for the next year. The shelter claims she cut contact with them 6 days after adopting the kittens after one picture update. The shelter reached out to her former agency to ask for the whereabouts of the kittens but was told that they do not involve themselves with such matters. Lee Chaeyoung then got back to the shelter with new pictures of the kittens, which the shelter noticed were not only physically different from the ones she had adopted, but of different genders too. The shelter asked for a DNA test to which she blocked them, causing the shelter to seek legal action. The actress has had previous scandals where fans noticed pets showing up on her feed once and never seeing them again. the shelter's photos show the cat with white socks the pictures Lee Chae Young sent show no white socks - 1. [+266] Is she crazy??? 2. [+126] Please get the DNA testing done. If she's telling the truth, then she can prove it. If she's been adopting and abandoning pets all this time, then she deserves to have her career on the line to prove us wrong. 3. [+103] She needs to be investigated. There's something fishy about all of this. 4. [+171] I really hope that all the people who adopt pets just because they're cute as babies and then abandon them when they get older are given harsh punishments 5. [+82] If this is true, then it gives me goosebumps to think that she would adopt similar looking kittens to pass them off as the previous ones 6. [+3] You dig and dig and keep finding more fishy things about her story 7. [+6] She's crazy 8. [+2] What a total psychopath 9. [+3] This is actually enraging 10. [+31] Hul, animals are not toys ㅡㅡ 11. [+30] She's crazy... 12. [+4] Why can't people like her just buy dolls and leave it at that... 13. [+3] She gives me goosebumps ㅡㅡ 14. [+2] She's crazy! This really gives me goosebumps!!! A life is not a joke to play around with! - the listing she adopted from lists a male cheese tabby Lee Chae Young submitted medical records showing a 'female' Translations by Netizenbuzz

Article: 'My Name' Han So Hee, "Being called 'the next Jun Ji Hyun' is too much... I want to establish myself on my own first" Source: MK via Naver 1. [+190, -9] Han So Hee's acting is a lot better than Jun Ji Hyun's 2. [+65, -0] I think the word 'cool' matches her better than 'pretty' 3. [+40, -0] She's not an actress who relies only on being pretty. I really hope she continues to grow as an actress with strong skills. 4. [+40, -6] I really enjoyed 'My Name' and it was the ultimate drama that made me see her in a new light. As for being the 'next Jun Ji Hyun'??? I think Han So Hee has already surpassed her considering Jun Ji Hyun is flopping hard with 'Jirisan' right now. 5. [+14, -1] No 'next Jun Ji Hyun'... Han So Hee is just Han So Hee, no need to make comparisons. She is a celebrity of her own. She really surprised me with 'My Name', not just for her image transformation but with her acting skills. 6. [+13, -2] Han So Hee is an actor who always tries for something new.. Jun Ji Hyun is just a fried chicken CF actor. 7. [+11, -2] Jun Ji Hyun has milked her entire career off of her fame from 'My Sassy Girl' and 'Thieves', and the milk's running dry as evidenced by her unimproved acting in 'Jirisan' and how badly the drama is doing. Let's not box in a rookie with so much more potential by associating her with Jun Ji Hyun. 8. [+9, -0] ㅋㅋㅋ Where did the Jun Ji Hyun comparison come from ㅋㅋㅋ Han So Hee is the one top right now for actresses in her age group ㅋㅋㅋ 9. [+8, -0] Jun Ji Hyun is not an actor, just a CF star.. 10. [+5, -0] Jun Ji Hyun could not have produced such a drama if she was cast for 'My Name'. Han So Hee has already surpassed Jun Ji Hyun in terms of acting.

I have tried to be neutral since the start, as a longtime Apink stan. Now I am still waiting for the evidence to determine who might be in the wrong here, but there are just a few things about the situation that I want to rant about. At this point we can all settle that Chorong’s case seems more like an immature conflict in which physical assault did happen. I think when all of this unnecessary back-and-forth comes to an end, I will have my own reservation about supporting Chorong if she did indeed engage in violence of any form, verbal or physical. Now here is an unpopular opinion, and it applies to all of the recent accusations of school violence and bullying. As much as I appreciate the idea that we should NEVER tolerate, let alone condone, the behavior that many of these idols are being accused of, I think it is best to not immediately make it a moral analysis of the people and reduce them to something of a monster. This is especially true if these things happened when they were adolescents - still developing their own footing in the world, highly prone to crowd-pleasing to be socially relevant, and a cultural sponge to their surrounding (and Korea has a pretty toxic surrounding to start with, with the heavy drinking culture and obsession with seniority, but I am no one to criticize a whole culture). As an educator, I think it’s sad that we are so quick to nitpick minors and “cancel” them without considering that their whole future identity is not rested completely on one or a few misdeeds (the nature and number of misdeeds do matter though) they do as pubertal beings. What I think matters way more, in all of these bully accusation cases, is how people handle them as adults. I’ll just be clear about what I think is good or bad here, but don’t take my own prescriptions seriously: Bad: meeting with the victim only to gaslight and hurt them even more; saying “I don’t remember” with the undertone of “I don’t care” rather than “I don’t have concrete evidence to support my claim of not remembering”; standing by and letting your supporters cyberbully the victim; etc. Good: apologizing to the victim in person preferably before shit hits you and only if you are genuinely sorry about what you did; working to recuperate the wounds and traumas caused to the victim in the way they need you to; etc. And you know what, tormenting whoever you are “accusing” of bullying in a media fight, teasing the public and turning them against that person without giving out full evidence also count as bully behaviors. Being hellbent on ruining the career of someone without accepting any rational compromise seems pretty messed up to me, but maybe I’m the only one. I don’t want to defend Chorong herself yet, but what her accuser is doing just doesn’t sit well with me and I want to call her out. I hope more people realize that’s not how you should behave as a thirty-year-old (assuming she and Chorong are the same age) regardless of how much trauma you have suffered. The bottomline is that I would be much more disappointed if Chorong as an adult now had lied about the assault or even attempted to silence the victim, than about the actual violence she might have committed as a minor. Once again, I’m 100% in support of scrapping violence and bullying, but we need to be cautious about the context of all this, and also not morally evaluate an individual on some isolated acts. And I completely acknowledge the perspective of the victim, who deals with psychological traumas that may never heal. But that thing about “victim perspective” is something to be settled between the perpetrator and the victim. As a third-party observer, the public should either empathize with the victim or call out behaviors of the perpetrator. They should not blindly fuel a smear campaign and exploit the suffering of the victim to exercise their own negative attitudes towards the perpetrator. tl;dr: separate behaviors from persons, especially minors in their developmental years; pay attention to how they handle accusations as adults instead, and understand that the public is only supposed to react as a third-party - don’t be cyberbullies yourselves.

these are some general problems i have noticed in kpop after years of being a fan. i wrote these points down not necessarily to share them with anyone, but for myself to finally realize it is time i walked away from kpop. you don’t need to agree with me, and i understand your experience with the industry might be vastly different. some of the following points are quite common, but many are rather rare, so this list is by no means an accurate representation of every kpop group/company/idol/fandom. i’d like to open this thread up for constructive discussion on how any of these points (or other things) may also be experienced by other fans, but again, i don’t necessarily want judgment on what i personally find wrong/problematic about the industry. i'm not here to seek attention or to attempt to 'educate' anyone whatsoever. it's more like my own offering of an opportunity for all of us to engage in this discussion. the thread may seem out of place in a kpop forum, but i don't see the harm in looking objectively at the industry which we all know is problematic in one way or another. so here are the problems i have with kpop (in pretty random order tbh): kpop can be highly superficial – everything is based off of appearance and glamorous visuals, thus there is (often, but not always) a priority of appearance over actual music and talents; this is why companies/idols get away with producing mediocre music (if at all) and instead focus on doing advertisements, social media, and releasing products that are not even music-related along that line, many kpop stars have either voluntarily done or been forced to do cosmetic surgeries due to the obsession of the industry with complying to korean beauty standards; all the lies that these celebrities are living (i.e., claiming to not have altered their faces) will only perpetuate further insecurities among the people who constantly consume kpop materials, most specifically young women, not realizing that what they see is far from the ‘natural’ appearance of the celebrities kpop can be very fake and manufactured: from the physical appearance of idols (which may have been altered by cosmetic surgeries) to the personality and image given to these idols by their companies/agencies; of course idols are humans and they are allowed to have their ‘professional’ and ‘real’ selves, but the double life can be both tiring for the idols and misleading for young/gullible fans the companies are notorious for keeping tabs on the idols in almost every aspect of their lives, and there are also possibilities of mistreatment and exploitation; it is not unreasonable to suspect a lot of this intense ‘monitoring’ and mistreatment can be comparable to slavery in modern time, and several idols have attempted to terminate contracts due to this reason a more specific example of this is the extreme control over idols’ lifestyle, touching down even to their diet/what they get to eat; this is the direct result of the obsession with beauty standard causing idols to either voluntarily or in a forced way adopt extremely unhealthy eating habits in many ways kpop idols are treated as commodities, not just by the companies but also by the fans, many of whom expect their idol to not have a normal life as a person, but to abide by a certain fantasy they have in their head of the idol (i.e., a sense of ‘ownership’) part of the issue is the tendency of the companies and the idols themselves to feed into the fantasy by engendering the fans’ delusion; this is not only mentally and emotionally unhealthy for the fans, but also ultimately damaging to the idols once they try to remove themselves from that imaginary ‘bond’; besides, the larger issue is that companies are actively exploiting this artificial relationship for their own profits and income kpop is misogynistic; generally women are not truly empowered in kpop; there might be successful female celebrities and songs about strong women, but in the end women are still subject to tons of biases and blind prejudices from not only the fans but also society in general the extreme case of this misogyny is when women in kpop (and korean entertainment industry overall) become very vulnerable to sexual predators; there have been a few high-profile scandals in this regard, and there is undoubtedly even more dirt behind the scenes many kpop idols are problematic and they have certain beliefs and behaviors that are questionable on moral grounds; they can further conceal these sides of their identity thanks to the fakeness of the industry, and with the blind support from certain fans or neglect from the public, these wrong behaviors go unnoticed and/or unpunished many kpop fans are toxic, immature, and too obsessed with their fangirling/fanboying behavior which then leads to unnecessary and meaningless engagement on the internet (i.e., fan wars); not to mention a (growing) part of the kpop fandom that is very dumb/blind sometimes with their incessant praising and a lack of basic understanding of what’s right or wrong recent kpop fans have made the experience too much about meaningless achievements such as online video streams, social media engagement, etc. which takes away the pleasantness of simply enjoying the music/art kpop music is after commercial pop (although nothing is inherently wrong with that), and while some of it adopts quality elements of music, most of it is supposed to be easy-to-consume music that follows a specific formula without much creativity or originality (kpop is sometimes only groundbreaking in a visual sense, not quite when it comes to actual music) of course all i have listed here are negative (please read the thread title again), but my experience with kpop has also been very enjoyable. please don't come at me calling me party pooper for sharing these.
