  1. Someone already shared it here, but I just wanted to point out how important Jo Kwon's recent interview is and how I think this will be the closest we will get to an actual coming out, both by an active idol and Jo Kwon himself. I think Jo kwon is really confortable with his indentity and sexuality and don't feel the need to "come out" if he is indeed lgbtq+.

Though I do think that he could be in some spectrum  of the lgbtq+ solely because of his gender expression.

    Quote

On July 29, 2AM’s Jo Kwon sat down for an interview to talk about the musical “Jamie.”

Jo Kwon said, “‘Genderless’ has become my weapon. In the past, I was afraid of a neutral-gender image. If people said I looked like a woman, I would deny it. Now I don’t do that. If people say that I look like Choi Ji Woo or Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, then that’s fine. I’m able to accept myself as I am. This is my long-lasting weapon in the future genderless age.”

In the musical “Jamie,” Jo Kwon plays Jamie, a teenager who overcomes prejudice in his dream to become a drag queen. Jo Kwon said, “There are drag queens and there are drag kings. There are girlish men and there are boyish women. Men can have a lot of interest in beauty products. As the times change, I think that more people will open their minds to people like Jamie.”

Jo Kwon also talked about Bang Si Hyuk’s words of encouragement in choosing an artistic path. Recently, Jo Kwon’s 2012 song “Animal” featuring BTS’s J-Hope has garnered new attention. Jo Kwon said, “Of course, BTS had a big effect on this, but I’m glad that ‘Animal’ has gained more attention. It makes me think that our country has changed its worldview a little bit.”

Jo Kwon continued, “I think that in our country, we have to keep doing things until people get used to them. Before ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ premiered here, I got a lot of negative comments. But as soon as it premiered, people liked my performance as Herod. I kept doing musicals and now ‘Jamie’ is my eighth project.”

In “Jamie,” Jamie’s mother Margaret plays an important role. Jo Kwon said, “My mother is a quiet but steadfast supporter. She came to see my first performance as ‘Jamie’ and her eyes got red as she watched. The first scene is sad, and when Jamie was bullied by his classmates after his transformation into a drag queen, she said that her heart hurt a lot. She said that it was like seeing me going into battle. Choi Jung Won, who plays Margaret in the musical, said that my mother was like the Korean Margaret. I ended up tearing up as well.”

Jo Kwon also talked about the other actors playing Jamie in the musical. “I think that Jamie Campbell [the real person whom the musical ‘Jamie’ was based on] is an amazing person. In the musical, Jamie opens by saying, ‘That’s right, I’m gay.’ When I’m wearing heels, I get most nervous when I have to do a high kick. I think that gossip, which is a characteristic of my job, is karma in the end, but I feel a sense of injustice when people pretend that things that didn’t happen are real. Jamie’s confidence and cool attitude is similar to myself. But Jamie is more amazing because he did it all at the age of 17. I talk about this with NU’EST’s Ren and ASTRO’s MJ, who are making their musical debut in ‘Jamie.'”

Jo Kwon also shared plans to work on a new solo album inspired by singer-songwriter Troye Sivan, as well as plans for a new album from 2AM next year.

Taehyung is the only member that has shown genuine attraction

Yoongi has described his ideal type for men before and not in a 'fanservice' way like saying "member x is my ideal type" either. He is also the member who has tried to be the most gender ambiguous as possible when aswering questions about ideal type in general.

Speaking of Yoongi, it's weird how everyone here went from "Yoongi is definitely lgbtq+" to "Nah, I think he is straight". What happened? (Seriously asking)

I'm sorry I feel like I should vent something out here.

Ten sais beautiful things this week, a very meaningful speech for the community. But other fandoms just went dead silent about it. I'm tired of seeing people hyping up idols who wear pride items and then when we get something that screams such importance it's like there's was nothing relevant being said.

I'm not surprised. It's rare for fandoms to hype other groups/artists, especially if said fandoms already have a feud with said group's fandom. I doubt some even follow NCT enough to know what he said.

Would it be pushing it if I say I think there's a possibility two TXT members have romantic feelings for each other? Oh gosh, I don't want to get negged like I was for my first post. In my opinion, there's a pair that I don't think have a very platonic relationship within the group, but the feelings they have for each other are newly discovered. I can't support my speculation but their dynamic compared to debut vs now is very different. Things feel more intimate between them and I think the other member shave somewhat noticed is as well because there are some moments during group vlives that are awkward, like they're in their own world. I deleted a previous post about it, but now I truly feel like there is a mutual crush between them. I'm going to avoid saying names so I don't get pitchforked for "shipping" or whatever.

Are you talking about Soobin and Yeonjun?

    ur joking......

so women aren’t even allowed to speak about their own genitalia now? the misogyny from so called woke people is absolutely unreal.

But what they said isn't wrong or misogynistic, given the context? Vaginas aren't exclusive to women, afterall trans men exist.

  6. I think there are some stores focused on kpop merch that sells kpop albums. Usually they're facebook pages. I can't recommend any store tho, as I'm not familiar with them.

I'm not sure if you know this idol, but what do you think about HISTORY's Yijeong/JPearl?

I remember people talking about him a lot around the time he produced a song with Suga (I don't remember which... I think it was Ddaeng?)

He had posted some stuff about his "relationship" with Suga that had a lot of people's eyebrow raised... Like gifts and stuff

Eventually I think an army asked him on his stories if he was into guys (?) and he answered no

at least write a constructive comment as to why you think i'm wrong.

Do you really think they choose people based on their sexuality to feature on/write/produce their songs? It doesn't make sense at all, especially to look "woke" like you say, since most of these people stay behind the credits and aren't "hyped" like idk Ed Sheeran who wrote a song for them once (which is understandable since Ed Sheeran is a big artist).

If Big Hit wanted to look woke, they would do mediaplay about it. Or do other things to look woke in a easier way than just have lgbt artists producing and writing for BTS.

I do think Big Hit do things to look woke, just not like this. For me, this is just a coincidence.

Also I forgot to answer this one, but yes they do.

They've worked with MNEK, Warren G, Krizz Kaliko, Wale, etc. before.

what do yall think about kpop idols/groups (and other celebrities) randomly being pro-gay despite never having otherwise shown support for the community? im honestly not thinking of any group in particular, but just in general, its just something ive noticed recently (ive been a kpop fan for a while now).

as a gay man i do appreciate it and id also love if my favs did it but i feel like im also old enough now to tell when its just pandering to the gay community for coin. like, i feel like idols know that a large portion of their international fanbases (specifically, their american fans) are members of the LGBTQIA2+ community or allies. and showing pro-gay sentiments has become "trendy". sometimes, their support just doesnt seem genuine and seems fake/forced.

    what do u guys think?

I honestly prefer to believe that they've always suported lgbt+ rights but couldn't say it before because of backlash

  10. I don't know about Jungkook being feminine but I'm sure he doesn't have a toxic masculinity, which is a start. Remember when he said that great style is wearing anything you want regardless of gender?

(This is probably the third time I've brought this up in a short period of time lol... don't judge me, he is my bias and as someone who is nb I was quite happy with his statement :rlytearpls:)
