Summary of thoughts with Seungri’s case so far:

 

 

His actual shares in Burning sun are via YuRi holdings thus making his 20% share actually 40%(?) of 20% thus making it more like 8% overall.

 

He's not part of the police collusion or getting minors into clubs or people trafficking- or there is no evidence of it and no one else incriminated are attributing these crimes to him to either, it's only the media doing it. So why are people still claiming he is a criminal who has done these things?

 

It's also getting hypocritical when other stars are being linked to the same circle of people and people rush to defend and distance them on the same grounds that can be attributed to Seungri but he's not given the same consideration. 

SBS/the representative reporter admitted after several news reports saying the information they were using was real, that they actually cannot confirm Seungri in the information they have.

 

SBS keeps publishing edited chats, and they’re cutting and pasting so obviously that they have participates repeat themselves word for word but one completely different days.

 

Seungri has provided the police with his own phone which include the original chat rooms as far back as 2015.

 

It showed he did look into escorts but escorts in the actual sense of someone paid to be someone’s company for business. It was for his female friend Ms Kim and was the alleged exchange from the concert. So the media painted him as extorting women while fans waited for him but actually he was trying to help his female friend who was visiting Korea. The women never met up and the alleged contacted women deny prostitution.

 

Seungri was at least in 1 chat of several that JJY had, his chat was more towards business. JJY so far is the only celebrity criminal and Seungri does not appear to have participated in the chat dedicated to sharing illegal videos.

 

Seungri admitted to being aware of at least enough of the hidden camera videos enough to warn JJY to stop it. His crime here would not be reporting but we don’t know what videos he saw since there is a mixture of secret and known filming.

 

The Burning Sun owner tested positive for drugs but could reject getting arrested? However he has also stood up for Seungri’s lack of involvement in running the business and Seungri mostly gave money to set up the venture, DJ’ed and promoted but was not part of the staffing or running of the place.

 

The original Mr Kim is being charged for sexual harassment. Why have people been celebrating a sexual predator? Trying to find fault in his victims to keep him a “hero†despite real, visual evidence on the contrary.

 

There have been several claims that Seungri has been doing hard drugs but the 2 drugs he has done have proven negative. However the media keep making these claims in the keeps and the police repeatedly have denied that there is evidence or an investigation or any informant to these accusations. The media is literally lying about so many things.

 

Seungri committed the offensive of having socialite birthday parties and hiring female escorts to pad out the party- sex is unknown.

 

It’s been a month and there is nothing to pin on Seungri but he’s still the face of the scandal of Burning Sun and JJY despite there being no substantial evidence that he’s deeply involved in any of the criminal activities either party has been up to. Seungri is too removed from Burning Sun’s business and not in the main illegal videos chat.

 

If anything he’s paying the price of having too many fingers in too many pies and not clearly closely examining his acquaintances- although the media has hyper focused on his ties to these people who’ve proven and admitted involvement in immoral and illegal acts, they are but a small number of people compared to his larger social network. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s mingled with more bad characters but in his ambitions to do well and get into high society, it’s difficult to avoid such characters.

 

It’s gotten to the point where people just want him to be a guilty, want him to be pinned with anything and openly expressing that without shame.

People’s don’t care about women or victims or justice they really just want to destroy Seungri, it’s very vindictive and targeted with very blatant bias. This is unjust and disgusting, South Korea media and legal system are disgraceful.

 

The Media chose the wrong person and it’s highly likely whom they pinned as Seungri may well have been one of the other Lee’s in the chat room, but their embarrassed now and are doubling down on trying to get him convicted of something to save face. It’s pathetic when they have to resort to a Halloween costume to try to get him fined and as “evidence†for police collusion- which they also lied about claiming Seungri recently deleted such a photo when it was deleted the same year it was posted because people don’t let Seungri live.

 

Chosun, and various important high ranking staff of SBS, MBC and KBS are involved in the re-opened case of the deaths of actresses and a whole swathe of serious crimes, but their not reporting on each other but instead keep coming out with more new or repeated allegations putting Seungri’s name onto everything, even if the actual reports doesn’t feature him. Similarly the media has been going after YGE and other BigBang members with similar bias intent. It’s sad to see that lies keep running around the world and the Army and other organisations have to waste money and time refuting these lies but people refuse to believe them anyway, with the situation 100 times worse for Seungri.

The police are corrupt, the Government is corrupt and the media (the mostly easily bought of these fractions) is corrupt. The reporter was sitting on this information for 2 years and decided to release it at the same time that the actresses cases was being re-opened again for the final time. The media had several names of big celebrities and business men who have been charged and evidence backed to be committing crimes and colluding with the police but Seungri was the biggest name so they focused on him, tying the separate events of Burning Sun and JJY chat rooms and calling them Seungri. The handling by the media, teasing out names (and trying to get names of victims) has been disrespectful to victims, misleading and confusing. They could have sent their documents to be verified years ago and they would still have had to have gone to the police as they have now. We’ve yet to know the fate of those original documents, what is true or not and there is still nothing indicating Seungri committed any crimes.

 

Also it seems the gambling and soliciting prostitution have interesting context. The case back in 2015 where Seungri was scammed it sounds like in an attempt to lure his scammer for his money back he claimed a false story of winning in gambling and tried to lure them with women. He was 24 at the time, a young man trying to outsmart a weasel and ended up trapping himself since his scammers got him to drop the lawsuit by using his fake messages as blackmail. Stupid as that was and not a good image there is no evidence of Seungri gambling or being in contact with prostitutes hence he has not been charged although the police are still looking.

 

There does seem to be multiple stories from Ms Kim to these other scammers that the media are getting their stories crossed and making Seungri look like he is back tracking on his stories, likewise Seungri following legal advice in the initial investigation of not admitting to knowing anything until he was certain is now becoming the basis for people to people to claim he lied from the beginning (e.g. he contacted Ms Kim about the chats they had in advance to being investigated when he was tipped off but said he did not remember those messages in his first questioning/talk to the media, it is possibly that he was still unsure at the time exactly what chats he was being questioned off and going by his interviews is fairly in the dark over much of what he has been accused off.)

 

Seungri is essentially being tried and found guilty by the media at this point. Which is disgusting when you think that public figures aren’t allowed to sue the media even if the media lie about them, they have no power. (They’re barely even allowed to protect their own image since GD failed a law suit of a company using his pictures but because his pictures are so widely available because he’s a celebrity the Judge dismissed the case- celebrities seem to have no rights.)

 

It does seem more and more that Seungri left YGE and retired as an entertainer because it was the only way he could fight back. There was that snide remark by some producer in the company that he was kicked out but they seemed like a new producer so I can’t put much stock in what they think.

 

If Seungri was rich and powerful he would have been hidden like all these associates to the corrupt businesses who get to go in back doors, have the faces blurred, reject investigation and arrest or just be completely overlooked. He’s being so attacked and incriminated that it’s hard to imagine he’s being protected especially when it’s some of the most powerful organisations in the country who are against him.

 

I don’t know if Seungri is guilty of anything, he’s not found to be but I am horrified by people’s venomous attitudes. Their desperate for horrible lies to be true, they refuse any evidence or facts that contradict what they have chosen to believe and it’s a helpless situation with Seungri being painted in a very dark light that relative to what is known to be factually correct and warranting such a light being cast on him.

 

It’s still a he said, she said situation. The media claim one thing, Seungri’s side claim another, and the police have nothing.

 

If the police for find anything, fair enough.

 

But they have not yet, it’s just accusation after accusation with the rebuttals and clarifications getting a little sentence tucked at the bottom of long accusatory reports. There is no objectivity, the facts are dismissed and swamped by sensational rumours.

 

It’s even getting dangerous for the other members as SBS are making false claims about them being connected to Seungri’s associates- there is just no fact checking, so how can people be so trusting, it’s beyond stupid.

 

 

SBS and translators also keep confusing Seungri with other Lee Sunghyun/Lee’s- not to mention misgendering people because they don’t have context.

NetizenBuzz as usual is bias to hell, calling people mentally challenged who contradict them, they have already decided Seungri is a Pimp and are only translating things, however misinformed the original articles are, to push that narrative with several other new and amateur translators also selectively ignoring reports or choosing wording that will enrage people towards Seungri.

 

They have always had a horrible and gleeful agenda against YGE for years and want to dance on their grave, they target other agencies and everyone but they hate BigBang so much that they’ll translate a positive article about someone if there is one comment dissing BigBang especially GD and I get very upset seeing their handling of this, it paints Seungri in such a snide way. They are going out of their way to manufacture Seungri hate across the world and that spitefulness inside of them is evidence of a disgusting human being.

 

It’s just tiring and disheartening and yet I have more faith that he could come through this uncharged versus how I was feeling a few weeks ago, now there is alternative versions of the prostitution stories and it seems more and more likely Seungri was in a different chat and not involved in the full extent of those videos, while not great, it’s not that unforgiveable if he did try a token attempt to get his friends to stop doing that. He’s not responsible for what they do and it’s like the GD not understanding the Christine Paik break up situation and still a woman beater being in his “circle†and being friends with both. These things are complicated and we don’t know the full truth.

 

I am still on the fence because I cannot trust anything, the media and politicians have their agenda, Seungri has his, the police have theirs- it's a mess and all the crueler for it. But there is something inherently wrong with people already displeased on the possibility of Seungri not being guilty or going to jail when there is (yet) no valid reason for him to be found legally guilty of anything. 

 

Besides some inescapable bias media reports and some other interviews I have largely stayed away from a lot of the sensational tabloid reports when they immediately come out but follow the follow-ups - often the ones refuting the original claims. 

 

I must confess ignorance to his moral crimes since not knowing the exact situation, why he did not speak up, how familiar he is with illegal dealings if not involved, how complicit he actually is, there is too much unknown to make a judgement so I can't comprehend how vividly people have already decided on how he should be treated.  If it is a case of a reckless young, 25 yr old man making bad moves when playing with the big boys and actually getting a bit trapped and caged himself in their web- how morally corrupt does that actually make him?  

 

Why do people hate Seungri so much more than JJY, or the people who actual have been found to have committed crimes?

 

If he's not charged with anything...then what?

 

Why is it a good thing his reputation and BigBang were thrown under the bus to be a scapegoat or missused for attention for someone to push their agenda? What makes that morally okay when it seems every party is morally questionable?

It is confusing since there are a lot of information not being made public. But from what has been confirmed, SeungRi is complicit. He might not have directly participated in some acts but he knew they were being done. What I am glad of though, is that the issue about voyeurism is being blown wide open in Korea where it is so prevalent, 1/4th of the male population share/participate/enjoy it. That should be a topic they have to address.

YG announced that once BIGBANG is discharged from the army they are expected to to create sales from a Dome tour that is in the process of being held.

 

Least we have something to look forward too? This kinda confirms that Bigbang is not disbanding..?

I am assuming he would have discussed with the other 4 before coming out with this news? I am both happy and sad if it goes on. I do not want them to disband but I wouldn't blame them for wanting to end it. I can't imagine what they must be feeling...probs frustration and anger   I am grateful at least they are not being hounded by the press at this time.

I really went away with a light heart to my ancestral home town for 3 weeks thinking Seungri will be absolved of all these accusations....
