  1. Hello ^^

    Are you ready now?

If you'd like to return to your account at anytime/ earlier than what requested you can always email us at [email protected],tweet us @onehallyu, or have a friend inform us here on your behalf.

If let say you want to create a new account in future, please inform moderator about your new account as well as your original account so that we can take note of it.

I'm ready. Btw if either phoenixstar or absentisland wanted to take over Mamamoo sales thread post 1 & 2 I'm ok with that. Thanks.

  2. Articles say she has no interest in staying in the industry so I assume she leaves the company as well

Yulhee fansites Cherry Soda and Yul Tea have closed. Laboum6 is on hiatus until mid 2018, they won't be able to attend Laboum schedules often but maybe can make it to award ceremonies and such.

Thanks for the info. Best of luck to her then.

I hope Global H don't pull another stunt like replacing Yulhee with a new member or such. With all the things happened this year (sajaegi scandal, dating & leaving of a member, members joining in the Unit, etc), another one might lead to the total departure of the remaining Lattes.

  3. I don't think it's only because of dating. Yulhee's still young so she probably thought of trying a new path, couldn't fault her especially with the current Laboum situation. This kind of separation is usually sensitive and complicated so I also kind of understand why it's been dragged up for months.

Is she completely leaving the company or just the group?

  4. Let's not forget the NANA (No Attendance, No Award) tradition for MAMA.

(*note: there's one exception though, a band won without attending before, my other bias)

I'll be happy if MAMAMOO attends MAMA but if not then it's no big deal.

Davichi won last year's vocal performance award but they also didn't attend MAMA iirc. If MNet didn't gave Mamamoo any award last year given how successful the group was (looking at you judges score lol), I doubt they will give them one this year so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Edit: Davichi's did attend, my bad. Still weird Mamamoo was not invited/went to perform in MAMA last year.

  5. GAON Week 41

    Yes I Am
    Download - 19,860; Total - 968,738

    Streaming - 1,206,103; Total - 53,957,742

Shadow (Wheein - Yellow OST Part 1)

    Download - 44,958; Total - 79,074
    Streaming - 1,451,714

    - Most songs seem to have a significant decrease in the downloads this week. Yes I Am, barring another huge decrease, will reach 1M in the next  2 weeks.

    - For a web drama, I think Wheein's OST is doing well. It already have 21k likes in Melon and still sitting around the daily chart Top 50. I thought it's going to chart out after a few days but it's already two weeks so some part of the public must have liked the song rlytearpls.png Hoping it will stay around for a few more weeks.

  6. Thank you for this! This is nice to see it summed up like this. I Appreciate it a lot! I do get the gist regarding this from here and there. And even struggling browsing through those korean site lol. But then again, there are so much kind of milestone that came up with its respective qualifications and stuff, so I cant help but wonder sometimes...

Don't worry, I can relate to that :) I'm following kpop since 2009 but only knew about these sales and charting stuffs when I discovered OH early 2015  I became interested since then and little by little learned about all these sales terminologies and milestones and stuffs.

  7. Sorry if it sounds a noob, again. So this sales milestone is generated within the song run in daily chart position? Bcs i always thought it was from real-time one...

I always want to know how to read numbers, milestones, its references/sources and all, is there any thread/link that explains related to that?

I don't know any guides but I'll try to give you a brief overview.

Digital sales pertains to download sales and streaming numbers. These numerical figures are from GAON, the one that consolidate the data from different MUSIC SITES: Melon (biggest), Genie, MNet, Bugs, Naver, Soribada, etc. GAON Weekly charts are published every Thursday 11:00 KST. Summing up a song downloads and streams on the weeks it appeared on the chart will eventually lead you to a MILESTONE. For example Yes I Am has now charted for 16 weeks with cumulative downloads of 948k and 52.75M streams. Their last weekly downloads was still at 25k, so we can say that it will probably reach the 1M milestone in 3 weeks (I'm already assuming here that song will at least sold 15k-20k in the next 3 weeks).

Now with the music sites. Like I said before, GAON get their data from these platforms so a song position in each and every one of them is an indicator on how a song will perform on weekly chart. REAL-TIME position refers to the HOURLY charting position of the song. This is the 'default' chart you see whenever you visit these music sites. It pertains to the number of unique listeners a song gets in an HOUR. Navigating you can find the DAILY chart, which pertains to the number of unique listeners a song gets in a DAY. One song can have a higher real-time position over another song every hour but still failed to surpass that same song in the daily chart. This happens when a big group of people (in this case fandom) dedicately streamed a song every hour as supposed to a song majority streamed by the general public (which is much bigger) scatteredly throughout the day.

    Some useful links

    Gaon website - http://gaonchart.co.kr

    Melon - http://www.melon.com/chart/index.htm

    Melon Daily Chart - http://www.melon.com/chart/day/index.htm

KpopChart - This site is very useful in tracking song/s real-time and daily chart position of a certain group across every music sites. This is Mamamoo's page: http://www.kpopchart.kr/?a=마마무

There are probably many guides somewhere but I advice you to read/follow some of the threads here in the sales section (which I did in the beginning) if you want to know more.

  8. The only push that may help YIA sale now is if Mamamoo makes a comeback soon I think. Otherwise, it would be very difficult for the song to remain charting in 1 month time, which is really really sad.

It's still a good run for me considering how short (less than 3 weeks) and little (variety/tv show) promotion they did with the song. I mean they're still one of the only four girl groups this year who are going to have 1M download song which speaks to the success they had this year.

I actually prefer them to just skip the last quarter and then make a comeback early next year. Their year-end performances (hopefully they are invited to some) are probably enough to help YIA sales a little bit.

  9. YIA just dropped to #100 on the melon daily chart. So it's very doubtful it'll reach Decalcomanie numbers. Overall it had a good run and hopefully it'll make the 1M download milestone.

It's still at #74 daily though, what you were probably saw was the real-time position :)

It will definitely reached the 1M milestone before it charted out on Gaon and will probably have 1.1M - 1.2M downloads at yearly chart (around the same downloads as UOAY yearly).

  10.

    Yes I Am - #67 (-6)

    Download - #66(-2) 25,571; Total - 948,878

    Streaming - #60 (7) 1,193,947; Total - 52,751,639

    FACTS:

    • Get ready to witness the next 1M selling song in less than 3 weeks
    • Yes I Am almost sold 950k copies so far
    • If it stay stable with 25k per week, then it have a chance to outsell Delcacomanie in long term.

I think it will be tough to reach Decal sales now unless some sort of surge happens to YIA. Probably even YTB or UOAY numbers since the former was released on a February while the latter had the benefits of Gaon Top 400. Streaming is a good indicator of longevity so seeing the weekly decrease on YIA numbers, the pessimist in me thinks the song might not even survive the charts in a month or two (it's actually only charting now in Melon, Mnet and Genie outside of Top 50).

  11. I think this list includes all sales -

physical and digital (solo, collab, ost, etc)?

From my latest count (not including featurings) Mamamoo already have 12.674M digitals and 175,321 physical sales which is 12.85M in total. If you include featurings (e.g. Wheein's Anymore) they are already around 15M sales.

  12. I don't know how I feel about this. I'm wishing all the best for the couple but this is going to be another setback for the group which currently is barely recognized. I think this could be prevented with being a little more careful? The group is still thriving somehow (even with three years without any significant success) but I don't know how long they will with all these "scandals" keep happening :(

  13. Glad that Yulhee will be returning to schedule with Laboum for whatever reason, maybe its inconvenient to tell the public/fans that why the reason is kept secret until now. Anyway it's all good now!

Mte. They did gave a vague reason at first so I'm not really bothered but worry started to creep in as more weeks passes so I'm glad for this official statement.

  14. There was a list floating around twitter (of course not sure if it's official). I'm just hoping it isn't official cause YIA slayed and broke numerous records.

I don't think that's official yet. They still need 100+ points to be a part of the nomination pool (they're at 490 now, 600 is the requirement) but that's because they only had one comeback this year which is also a bit late and just as spark said Decalcomanie points weren't included. I'm hoping they pull through though before the cut-off period. Continuing streaming YIA in Melon will probably help.

  15. Updated the overall OP (while listening to Moosical lol) though I'm still in the process of collecting info about their recent concerts (Sistar X Mamamoo, Moosical Busan) and fan meetings (Osaka, Taiwan). If you know any info you can post it here. Next update will be probably on the month of their next comeback or the yearly one (if the group don't do a second promo this year).

Purple finally crossed 50k copies (50,001) in Hanteo last Thursday (08/17). Btw this is 25% more than Memory sales in the same time-frame which is probably resulted from the combination of new radishes + the two versions of the album. Let's see if they can keep up this improvement on their next release.

  16. GAON Week 32

    Yes I Am

    DL - 40,341; Total - 713,168

    ST - 3,022,989; Total - 37,715,278

    Decalcomanie

    DL - 18,988; Total - 1,563,281

    ST - 1,094,375; Total - 94,825,909

    Anymore feat. Wheein - Jungkey

    DL - 18,146; Total - 842,467

    ST - 1,071,771; Total - 54,170,410

    - Decalcomanie is now officially the most downloaded song of the group surpassing UOAY's 1,544,621 downloads which was computed until to the last available top 400 number last year.

You are a true MooVP, acadz. Thank you for the expert number crunching.

We have to be getting extremely close to 50,000 albums sold right?

Last Hanteo number I know was until last Sunday (08/13) which is 49,853. They will definitely cross 50k before this week ends.

  17. Purple's Hanteo/Gaon numbers were very close, about only 2000 copies more (49,290/51,141). Mamamoo usually don't have large difference between the two but this is the first time it became this close. RBW was way extra wary about overshipping this album.

Another decrease on YIA sales this week especially on streaming. I kind of understand this actually (after streaming the song along side their other title tracks these past few weeks). The song is catchy but probably not as much as their other title tracks. The drop near the end imo also prevented the song to achieve a better climax and just like other said in the main thread, though great, the lyrics were a bit personal. And all of these can somehow, one way or another, affect the song's longevity.

But just like I said before, YIA numbers are still very good. It's probably going to have the same trajectory as Rookie (only with better starting DLs and STs) and Rookie already have 1.1M DLs and 70M STs after 27 weeks which is far from being bad.

Btw, I compiled some of the group records starting UOAY for later references. Highlighted one is the best record so far. Noticed how YIA era snatched more than half of these records, signifying that this is really a successful comeback for the girls nonetheless smile.png
