  1. Story of Minglan and Like a River Flows probably will read the book for Like a River Flows, was surprised it’s the same author as Ode to Joy, since they are so different...
  2. Nice, this was my favorite school drama. Never thought this one would get subbed, this drama is very realistic in terms of friendship and romance in high school, also it quite realistic in the material being taught in Chinese high school as well. You'll see the male lead solve a classic pendulum problem on the blackboard with real solutions, showing and explaining each step with the female lead fawning in admiration. Normally school romance drama skips these, but this one goes the extra mile to show that they are actually in a school, not a playground.
  3. A Love So Beautiful / 致我们å•纯的å°ç¾Žå¥½ https://mydramalist.com/24644-a-love-so-beautiful https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXEhHSH0vJg2QBCLER2c6oV-lIFslgL9K
  4. Tribes and Empires Shall I Compare You To a Spring day
  5. I spend the weekend binge watching all 12 episodes of King's Avatar and all 63 episodes of Fox Spirit Matchmaker and they are great. Haven't been this into an animated series since college. I especially enjoyed the Fox Spirit Matchmaker having marathoned it in its 63 episode glory. It takes a while for the series to warm up, but after Episode 20 or so, it's a non-stop binge. Especially the Red Moon chapter from episode 28 to 48. There is so much Xianxia elements in this series, if you have watched Chinese Paladin, Legend of Chusen or Ten Miles of Peach blossoms, you'll see many of the same themes. The series will air in Japan this July, so hopefully this will mean English sub isn't too far behind. The Japanese release will have 24 episodes which each episode hopefully longer than China's 13 minutes episodes. So hopefully, they'll cover material up to or even finish the Red Moon Chapters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA9XrCZGE_0
  6. surgeons, it's pretty good. And In the name of the people helped to build a bit of a buffer for this. After surgeons, it will be Ode to Joy 2... They just can't give me a break here. I still have not played any of the Assassin's Creed games that I brought from the winter Steam sale, as well as Witcher 3.... And I was looking forward to those... But dramas are too addictive...
  7. In the Name of the People, so much better than a expected. Finally, a political drama that's on the same level as è‹å¤©åœ¨ä¸Š from the 1990s. In fact, this one has far better, more realistic intrigues, and believable villains. It does require some understanding of local Chinese politics though, otherwise, it's kinda confusing to watch. 8. I liked it, the production is not as carefully made as the original BTS made it seem, but it is still a quality production. The two leads does have chemistry and the story pacing is very good. Other than change the plot to chronological order and injecting pseudo pillow book side plots, the drama follows the book well.
  9. I just caught a random episode of the the 2017 LoCH, and was impressed. Where do you watch it? I can't find a good source on youtube, and iqiyi does not support chromecast.
  10. Glory of Tang https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRIU2BsOz1U and Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms Currently I'm watching both, but I'll probably drop Glory of Tang and follow only 3L3W for now. Then binge Glory of Tang later.
  11. Legend of Chusen 2, it's annoying me a bit right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Watching fifteen years waiting for migratory birds (å五年等待候鸟) and reading the novel as well. It's so different... both are quite good so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You can try the disguiser and zhen huan zhuan
  14. My Sunshine/Silent Separation/何以笙箫默 is pretty decent, though it can't even compare to the book. It is a very light drama though (which is why I stop after a few eps, I'm into drama's similar to The Disguiser or NIF), it doesn't capture the sort of longing as in the book. Also if you want something light, is also great. I particularly liked Also if you want to see a classic, there is , which along with Princess Pearl is fond childhood memory for an entire generation of Chinese people. (1 EP is bit slow, story picks up by EP2)
