Quoted you for truth. I think girl group thrives on CF income followed by events. Them having media attention and public recognition means they're doing things right. Although right now the buzz is on Tzuyu, JYPE has been doing a fantastic job of marketing the 9 of them as TWICE and not just Tzuyu + 8 other members of TWICE. While other girl group have a visual representative that is doing a lot of solo CF (hence their title of CF Queen), TWICE do have the potential of having 9 visual representative each doing solo CF but it just wouldn't be TWICE. From the CF they have done thus far, it is evident that Tzuyu is the visual center for the most part. However, lately I am seeing more of other members taking the center spot. Specifically Chaeyoung for Dunkin' Donut. Winning an award on a music show is literally just bragging rights. It has very little bargaining power in negotiating for events, CF or product endorsements. How relevant the group is and how receptive the public is towards them are the main factors to consider on the negotiation table. So longevity in chart after x months is EXTREMELY important for the big money behind the scene. Winning awards gives them positive media attention, staying on chart long enough means they are extremely marketable. Between an idol group that won an award but drop out of the contention for the top spot the next week vs another idol group that doesn't win but is consistently in the top 3 after several weeks and continues to chart after several months. It's a no brainer who is a better candidate to ask for endorsements.

I don't think there is any doubt in my mind that Tzuyu is the visual center for TWICE. All of them are beautiful but Tzuyu certainly stood out the most (perhaps her height plays a part in this). She look good in stills and in motion, there are hardly any bad angle. Nonetheless, I think there are some concepts that other members would fit the most. If it comes to games, Mina will take the spot most likely. It fits her style and I do think her recent pics are visual armageddon material. Nayeon is captivating because of her little gestures. In a visual still, she may not be at the top of the game, but in commercial films, she does have that cute vibe to her, one that would put a smile on your face. As weird as this sound, I think Jihyo would do well in Green Tea CF. Not sure why Green Tea CF specifically though. Her new image suits her really well. Sana is seductive without even knowing it herself, I am sure most of us saw that 9gag gif already. I think she's a solid candidate for lipstick CF. Momo is undeniably going to get those Jokbal CF going. It got to happen like by year end. Chaeyoung is a sassy lass, the new nickname she got from TEPL epi 6 means she's gonna get those Red Hot Chilli Pepper CF endorsement very soon on top of Dunkin Donut. Jungyeon is the girl crush of TWICE. She can pull off those boyish look very well, her image from TEPL epi 7 is definitely opening up some opportunities for her. Dahyun has a different charm to her. She do well by not being image-conscious. That's why I don't think she's the visual CF material but the variety/mc kind of member.

I guess even if they have like 42,500 (Apr 25) limited edition, that number will easily be breach. Could have been a little bolder and ambitious with their projected sales. Since most comeback typically do better than debut as long as they are relevant. Then again, it's hard to quantify popularity and come up with a realistic number. The very fact that they reach 30,000 pre-order within 4 days is quite astonishing even for a monster rookie. I do think TWICE have a very good chance for their first win, their physical is looking good (even though their competitor is strong as well), I think even if they don't get 1st in physical, the average of physical + online + SNS will put them in a very good position.

Hopefully. I think some ONCE may spread out their purchases to ensure longevity. There will also be people waiting for fan signs. Regardless, I think this comeback is going to be huge. Huge as in cementing their position as A-lister already. I think JYPE severely underestimated their popularity since their first week of sales during LOH was like 7,000+? Thus Synnara was only distributed 6,500 albums for sales and that number was anticipated to last till the first teaser release on 18 Apr. They never thought that 6,500 albums is sold out on the very 1st day, and they never thought the entire 30,000 limited edition would sold out within 4 days before teaser release. I guess now JYPE have to up the price tag for CF endorsements already.

I just hope ONCE will continue to support even after the limited edition is sold out. I believe Seventeen is going to contest very strongly in the first week physical. Their album sales is no joke during Mansae.

I think it's a typo. He/She probably wants to type her name as Zi Yu (pronounce with hanyu pinyin) and not the Korean version of her birth name Tzuyu.

They're really huge right now. Considering the response from Kcon Japan, the timing is just right for them with this comeback. In addition, their schedule performance at 500th Music Core this Saturday makes me even more hype. I hope they will have a special stage, and if so, are they going to dress up in their new M/V costume with sneakers and perform the original choreography of LOH? Or will they perform Fire? Or will they do a cover dance of Still Alive?

I just realize that LOH MV view is going at an average of > 240,000 per day. It seems like hitting 55 million view before comeback is possible with a little bit more effort.

Since Tzuyu's surge of popularity during the controversial flag incident, JYPE had already acknowledge her potential for the group and had paid her $1.6 million USD in excess of what she earned prior to the controversy. So I believe their group earnings is likely to be split equally among the 9 of them, with Tzuyu securing a lump sum payment of 1.6 million. The CF endorsement TWICE secured in 2015, along with the new endorsements (probably pays much better) they got in 2016, it's mostly endorse by all 9 members. Thus the reason I believe JYPE is trying to promote them as a group or at least divide the earnings equally within the group. So far, we do see all 9 members having their own time to shine. The J Trinity will also be promoted during their rumoured Japan debut. So that is where Momo, Sana and Mina will likely to get those CF deals in Japan.

Taiwan news are not always trustworthy, the press freedom pretty much allow them to write anything without repercussion. Until it's confirmed, you can simply treat it as a rumour to gossip about, but should pay it no mind. Anyway, congratulation to TWICE for achieving 52 million views on youtube, 48.6 million on youku, 109 million on tudou.

I think the 1st teaser might be reveal on TEPL ep 7. 2nd teaser reveal on TEPL ep 8. After TEPL ends on episode 8, that's where we can expect to have daily teaser until the actual M/V on 25 Apr.

This episode of TWICE Elegant Private Life has got to be my favorite one thus far.

The thing that irks me the most is when there are changes whether it be member leaving or new member added into an established group. So I do get where you're coming from. However, I think it's quite hasty to equate an addition of Somi to TWICE as making TWICE lose fans. Unlike in other cases where the added member is relatively nugu, so fans may not like it. However, Somi isn't exactly nugu and her popularity on IOI is quite impressive. Her 858,333 votes is likely to consist of her loyal fans since Sixteen, her newfound fans from produce 101, ONCE who likes Somi and JYP stan who likes Somi. Unlike adding a nugu to an established group, where the nugu has to live up to the standard and is likely to be subjected to higher expectations. Somi is not a nugu, if she joins TWICE, she will bring along her fans since Sixteen, her fans from Produce 101, her future fans from being the center of IOI. Her being fluent in English is something TWICE currently lacks. Besides, if there are people who hate Somi, then they can ignore her but continue to support TWICE. I mean, of the 11 girls of IOI, I like 8 of them. Don't really care about Mina, don't care much about Yeunjung either but believe she is needed, and absolutely despise Sohye. That being said, just because there are members I don't really care about and member I hate to see doesn't mean I will ditch the group because there are other 8 members I want to see more of. So if there are ONCE who leave TWICE simply because Somi is added to the group means they're not exactly ONCE. If their love for TWICE is so little, then they will probably leave for the next girl group anyway. So in the case of my assumption of JYPE intention to add Somi into TWICE after she turns 16. What I see is there to be a lot more positive impact than any perceived negative repercussion. 10 members isn't a obscenely huge number since there are other successful groups with bigger number. Besides, IOI have 11 members and they are sated to succeed right from the get go. If anything, having 10 members means they can form teams to promote at different events. Kind of like Sugarman performance or the special collab stage with GFriend, you don't always require all members to participate to promote the group name. You just need a team to represent the group so that you can't promote concurrently. Anyway, this is simply my wishful thinking that I somewhat believe could happen. It is still too early for it to happen.

With the amount of recognition Somi has right now, will the members of the next girl group be able to catch up? Even fellow trainees of Sixteen might find it hard to reach Somi's current popularity assuming they all debut in a group together. That could be the reason why the rumours of Chae sisters leaving. If Chae sisters indeed left JYPE, I do find it regrettable but completely justifiable considering what has transpire. If anything, I would think it is better to add Somi into TWICE to give TWICE a English speaker than it is to let Somi debut in the next girl group. She will shine too brightly and that isn't always the best thing for a group. Besides, Somi isn't a dead weight to TWICE. She is definitely building up a substantial fan base right now and her being the center of IOI means she's only going to gain more fans. One thing I hate is when company randomly add members into an established group. That new addition might receive some hate from fans of the already established group. Some would unfairly dismiss the new addition as someone who has gotten a free ticket to success and bask in glory for doing nothing impressive. However, for once I think adding Somi to TWICE is actually a very good move from all angles. Considering the fact that she is a celebrity in her own right, decisively became the center of IOI, was already quite popular back on Sixteen. She is actually the only trainee that has gotten top 7 spot on the popularity poll (4 times to be exact) but didn't make it into TWICE.

I think debuting another girl group is going to take a while. Initially, the plan was to debut another girl group 2 years after the end of Sixteen. However, JYPE most likely didn't expect TWICE to be this big so fast. So rather than churning out another girl group 2 years after TWICE, it might be push back a little. I am going to say that JYPE might even debut a coed group just to be a little ahead of the competition among the big 3.

I have a feeling that after I.O.I fulfill their 10 months contractual term, JYPE would want to add Somi to TWICE instead of having her in the next girl group. She can pull her own weight and has build up her own fandom while doing Produce 101, her being the center of I.O.I is going to attract more stan. If Somi is to be a part of JYP's next girl group, then she will be too popular and the rest of the members might be overshadow by her. That might be the reason for the rumours that the Chae sisters have left JYPE simply because of the likelihood that they won't debut anytime soon and even if they do, they can't shine. I also believe that Somi wasn't added during Sixteen likely because she's under the age of 16... JYP probably wanted the girls to be at least 16 years old and hence the show name Sixteen featuring 16 trainees but only those who are above 16 can be a part of TWICE. The rest is on the show to gain experience, exposure and build their own fan base. Throughout Sixteen, those that has appeared as the top 7 in terms of popularity includes Dahyun, Nayeon, Chaeyoung, Jungyeon, Mina, Sana, Tzuyu and Somi. Jihyo and Momo are the 2 current member of TWICE who weren't popular enough back on Sixteen, but have the skills to be added to TWICE. So in terms of popularity, Dahyun, Nayeon, Jungyeon and Tzuyu were always in the top 7. Chaeyoung, Mina, Sana and Somi are the ones to have fallen out of the top 7 at least once, but they have always been very popular. So base on the popularity, I daresay Somi being added to TWICE after I.O.I is not a very far-fetched idea. She's got the star quality, she has the talents, she can communicate in English (something that TWICE currently lacks), she isn't a dead weight and will bring along her own fanbase from Produce 101 and I.O.I to TWICE. And also, it will allow JYPE to debut the next girl group without having a celebrity (Somi) in the mix to become SuzyA 2.0... Although I am personally quite attached to Chaeryeong, the fact that she was being ignored despite getting into the final, being cut in favor of Momo would most certainly leave a bad taste to her and her fans. I love Momo and thought her revival was justice cuz her skill and her passion is nothing to scoff at. Now that there's rumour the Chae sisters have left, I can only hope for them to find a good agency to be in and can debut successfully. Don't forget to have Jokbal together with TWICE and Somi though.
