This is why you don't believe 'victims' first.
Oppa did mean it replied to Iljin Oppa's topic in Random
From what I understand when people say "believe the victims" it means that you don't have to discard the accusation right away, obviously there will be a proper process depending of the accusation, not "believe the victim 100% no questions asked just send the person to prison ASAP without absolutely any proof" but to be fair I have seen people on both sides use the latter statement -
black pink new song ice cream...lets talk about it!

I mean..... I think that it's weird that you're saying Hollywood is sexualizing KPOP when KPOP itself is very sexualize, even the "cute and pure" concepts are sexualize in some way- 45 replies

Would you rather have no eyebrows or a monobrow?
Oppa did mean it replied to Seunghee's eyebrows's topic in Random
Mono without a doubt I'm going to Frida Kahlo that shit -
Sadly no, everytime time that something paranormal happens there seems to be a reasonable explanation, however, I LOVE the paranormal, I want it to be real so badly and I REALLY hope it's real

I understand what they're going for, nonetheless, I still find it weird and somewhat creepy

Kamala Harris might be the first woman President
Oppa did mean it replied to deliriousness's topic in Current News & Events
I don't think Biden is that unhealthy he would die in 4 years What I doubt would be that he would run for a 2nd turn and that's where she can become the first female president -
The user above Ninja'd what I was going to say LOL But I also remember that in the last World Cup there were Mexicans that as a "thanks" for helping them pass to the next round they did slanted eyes and said "We are all Korea" obviously Koreans didn't like that and said it was offensive despite the sentiment, so for me it's very obvious that Koreans are aware when something can be offensive despite the sentiment behind it, it's so funny how opinions change when the shoe is in the other foot. So if people are aware that doing slanted eyes is offensive despite the sentiment then they should completely understand how blackface is also offensive.

Most of the country hate people from one specific state because those dumbasses say that you can make a quesadilla with no goddamn cheese The conversation is very taboo

The reality is that most people around the world don't care about Cultural Appropriation, unless its very balantly bad, and you can clearly see this when in a concert or event the idols use the same type of hair, background, clothing, images, etc., as the culture they are supposedly appropriating and the people of that same culture just enjoy the show and don't see it as a big deal. I also think most people are aware that other countries will not fully understand their culture so they will give them a pass, example, I remember seeing a video about Cultural Appropriation and there was a panel of people talking about it, and a woman said that one time she felt Beyonce was appropriating culture (Hindu culture to be more precise) and that she as a black western woman should call her out, but she was surprise to see that people who were defending Beyonce were people from that culture saying that it wasn't a big deal that maybe she wore some clothing or accessories wrong but not to worry about it In all honesty like I said in another thread, culture appropiation conversations are so fucking complicated and never end well because people are going to see it way differently depending on their upbringing, especially westerners that are minorities, since they are "attacked" more in the western world for their culture they will be more protective over it, on the other hand someone who is from the motherland of said cultures may be happy that other people from other cultures embrace theirs, they love the representation.
