  1. This is just a photoshoot, so of course it doesn't mean much. Interesting concept though.
  2. Kehlani's bi actually. ^Also, can we let Heechul have long hair in peace? His fans have been harassing him to keep his hair short his entire career.
  3. This isn't about idols, but I found a youtube channel some of you might be interested in. It's run by a gay couple in Seoul. One is Korean, and the other is American. (They both speak Korean and English.) They've also made a few videos with MRSHLL! Edit: I've watched a few more of their videos, and it looks like MRSHLL is actually one of the channel's creators. They describe their channel as a "Seoul Based LGBTQ+ Creative Collective" so yeah, go support them!
  4. Kpop is pop music. We're not talking about rock or club music. Kpop also emphasizes dancing. You think it's rare for male dancers to be gay or bi? As for Jo Kwon, he's currently in the military. And he is employed by a company and has to follow their rules. What part are you not understanding?
  5. Why do you presume there would be tons of gay musicians? When was the last time you saw a female rock band for example? I'm not sure how those two things are related. Can you explain what you mean? Also, there have always been a higher percentage of gay/bi people in the arts and entertainment industries. You said yourself that it's a gay-friendly industry. It's gay friendly because a lot of gay/bi people are in it. Also, Jo Kwon is not out, though it's obvious to most people. The fact that there are still people who genuinely think he's straight though should tell us something about people's obliviousness (some of his fans still ship him with the girl he was on We Got Married with). Actually, I remember seeing a translated article about him from a Korean site, and the top comment was, "I don't think he's gay. He's more of a drag queen." Like...........
  6. I don't think young groups are necessarily more comfortable with skinship than older groups. For example: (And Super Junior's entire history) But then again, skinship was never really the issue in Korea, was it? Skinship between friends has always been accepted, and fanservice has been understood for a long time. The issue is more clear and explicit acknowledgement and support of LGBT people, and yeah, I would definitely say young groups are doing way better on that front. Also, on the subject of "Korea isn't actually homophobic and any gay/bi idols would've come out already," Holland said that when he told his prospective company that he wanted to come out as gay, they said "Absolutely not." So even if some idols want to come out (and I'm sure some do), they can't because the companies don't allow it. Edit--This might give a bit more insight:
  7. I feel like saying "At least one member of [large group] is gay/bi" isn't even tea. It's just...statistics.
  8. Did you guys see this? We love supportive idols~
  9. Please direct us to the post where someone from this thread asked an idol about their sexuality or shared something that wasn't already in the public domain.
  10. Anyone else totally given up on figuring out relationship dynamics in NCT?
  11. I think we could all use a little more Ten right now:
  12. Check out Jungkook debating ice cream flavors as a metaphor for gay rights (don't take this too seriously, probably):
  13. Well, I...guess it's a step up from thinking gay people don't exist in Korea???
  14. Have these been posted? I've never seen anything but friendship in Wheesa, but interesting that Hwasa would say this.
  15. "He prefers girls more than guys." Any idea where they get this information? Like, is it official in any way or just based on something he's said in interviews?
  16. I feel like receipts of Ryeowook showing interest in men have been posted here? No way to find them without the search function though, sadly. Ryeowook could of course be ace and/or aro. Though, another explanation could be that he's gay but just didn't figure it out until more recently. He strikes me as a fairly shy/introverted person, so maybe that didn't leave him many opportunities to explore his options. Also, just being in SJ and having Heechul around wouldn't necessarily give you perfect awareness or confidence in being not straight. I remember Keiynan Lonsdale saying he was nervous about coming out to the cast/crew of Love, Simon, a gay movie with a gay director. Oh also, this wasn't the receipt I was thinking of, but his interest in Kyungsoo always seemed a bit more than friendly to me.
  17. I mean, red, white, and blue is also...the American flag colors..... Anyway, I don't see any tension between the members, but BG probably realized this would stir up BTS fans.
  18. So...the thing about shipping on this thread: you're never going to convince people a ship is real by fighting with them. Post moments you find suspicious, and if people don't think they're convincing, take the L and go to the ship's thread to enjoy it. You can't force it.
  19. This isn't anything really, but when Key was asked first celebrity crush, he ended up saying BoA is his role model. Another example of why male idols being fans of female idols shouldn't be seen as evidence of heterosexuality:
