i suddenly had this thought while writing an article: do you guys think that in their next mini/full album, BTS could possibly release a title track with lyrics criticizing the government either directly or indirectly amid the current political turmoil? kinda like n.o which criticized the SK school system? songs with controversial/critical/introspective lyrics like baepsae, am i wrong, cypher pt 3, ma city, spinebreaker, whalien 52, etc. are usually relegated to b-sides and i know a large part of the reason is that they don't deem them public friendly, but i think it's possible to make a public friendly-sounding song that still has critical lyrics. i think one of the pros if ever they do this is that, with the current political turmoil the song would gain a lot of attention. plus i think they'd be praised for voicing out their protest like millions of koreans rn and only haters would criticize bts for trying to get attention since their fans know they've been releasing stuff like that for years as b-sides cons: they'd get the wrong kind of attention from the government and be banned by some music shows or variety shows (but seeing as they let them perform am i wrong, i think more people would be on their side because most of them are probably angry at their prez and Choi soonsil rn) it's just a thought. i'm learning more on BH probably won't allow this since it's risky, but i think they'd be super brave if they do it

yes to everything you said! i am honestly so thankful that each member are getting opportunities to explore their interests and new fields they want to try. all their covers esp jk and rm, rm and agust d with their mixtapes, tae with acting, jimin with composing and variety, jin and hobi with variety shows, hobi with 1verse (and future mixtape!!) and now taejin with the ost. before it seemed like it was only rm, and on a lesser note taehyung, who was getting variety opportunities and rm with his mixtape, but it turns out it was only a matter of time before the others were also given opportunities. i think they weren't ready back then, but now every member is ready to release their own stuff (as proven by wings and their solos) and explore other fields besides music. gaaah i'm so happy there's no member getting the short end of the stick, unlike other companies who seem to only push the most popular member into every variety show or drama. and when you pointed out how suga yells every time jhope comes up on screen, i'm once again reminded of how supportive these boys are to each other. they are literally each other's hype men (except when one of them does something embarrassing *side eyes taehyung* then they all pretend they don't know that member lol). all the hobi love this era has been so so nice to witness, and also how they also point out how great jimin has been doing this era, esp during their performances. just like how they went to RM's mv shooting back then for his mixtape, how they pay attention when one of their members is hosting a music show or watch them on variety shows, like how they promoted agust d's mixtape and hobi's 1verse, how they mention taehyung's hansung role in hwarang all the time, how jimin worried about jin's trip to the jungle and laughs at all his dad jokes and how they'll probably sit down and watch jin's lotj episode together...i could go on and on about ot7 and their support. i don't think i've ever heard them say i love you to each other except on their birthdays and it's usually accompanies by a derp pic to offset the sentimentality, but even that is so sweet and adorable. that they have group traditions like posting ugly photos of the birthday celebrant with sweet/teasing messages, which i've never seen other idols/artists do, and if they do it's usually pretty pics of the birthday celebrant, not derp pics. lmao gah i'm sorry for derailing the convo i'm so full of ot7 feels rn

what i love even more about the ost thing is that it comes after the wings album where they have solos and taejin had songs which showed off what their voices can do...i think without these, we'd be getting more comments like 'tae can only growl' while 'jin only gets so very few lines that we don't really know if he's a good singer' i agree with what you said! it's just that in my experience in kpop it's always the main vocals who get the chance to sing osts like cbx in 3xo, hyo-rin and so-you, yo-seob, etc. but taejin voices really are perfect for osts, based on their solo songs in wings...they suit ballads and slower songs, plus tae's baritone is going to contrast jin's tenor beautifully

i cannot fvcking believe the ost rumor turned out to be true akjdhdksh ehat kind of insane connections do those armys have i was trying not to get my hopes because tae is already in the drama and that seems to much of a blessing already, but omg taejin really are singing an ost I AM CRYING i am so confused why the subvocals and not jikook are singing ost but i'm still so thankful, finally taejin's voices will get their shine...and osts usually get a lot of public interest esp if the drama is a hit so here's hoping hwarang becomes a hit /crosses fingers/ now we can add future visual line ost ballad kings and digital monsters to our delulu list
